Twilight Sparkle has left Ponyville

I think it's quite a lot of people at RARE and Lionhead that aren't pleased that Microsoft force them to do kinect stuff and try to copycat Nintendo or whatever. The latest Fable Heroes announced earlier this week look horrible.

Two excellent british game studios that stopped being excellent after Microsoft bought them.
Damned if you have a big publisher, damned if you dont.

I like how Obsidian isnt effected by them, but I think they could have got an alpha protocol sequal if they were under a big name.
Allthough publishers seem to kill everything, eventually.

I like PM, and if I were him I'd have probably moved on too. Fable Kinect and now Fable Heroes? Obviously not the types of games he wanted to make.

Interesting, could be a very good thing for the Fable series. What do you all think of this?

Why would this be a good thing? Did you want fable to be like every other game out there? This is terrible.

They were making a final Fable (Not the kinect and I've never heard of this Heroes) but, hey, I loved Fable for how long it lasted.

I've been dreaming for years that one day Peter will remember his roots and make a fun game like Dungeon Keeper again (doesn't have to be DK-like, but with that kind of spirit, y'know?). I didn't even like Black & White however, so it's not a dream I expect to come true.

I had no idea he was involved with the Fable franchise. That doesn't seem like his sort of game to work on at all....but it's been a while since I've kept up with his creative gaming work.

Good. Such an overrated charlatan. For all his yapping, what became of Fable? The series with amazing potential... reduced to Kinect krap and taking rails to the max.

Loved 1 and 3, I thought 2 was...Okay, loved ones lore.
It's funny, one of my friends today was saying todd lied about skyrim's features(Which is think is not true), the only think I said was look up Peter Molyneux...

He'll tell you you're getting gourmet, top of the line Italian food and boil a can of Chef Boyardee.

Good riddance. Now we'll get what we expect from the Fable series, rather than thinking the games will be breaking barriers like he said they would.

Didn't care for any of the Fable games. Maybe now that he's gone they will actually be able to develop decent games?

It's a good thing to me because he keeps going back and forth on design. First he went on about the whole acorn growing into a tree thing, then he moved on to, what was it? Interaction with villagers? Then they took that away, took most of the items out of the game, took the menu out of the game, and stuck on the touch system. Which was supposed to use Kinect originally, but ended up not using it at all.

Not to mention the multiplayer in Fable II. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TJDCq_2BqXg

Fable is only different to other games b/c it isn't those games. There is no depth what-so-ever to those games...then they screwed with the combat system after the first and now it's just awful.

The Fable series is nothing special. Lots of it are gimmicks.

This! Bullfrog RIP, they made my favourite games and Peter was there through all of it.

Hopefully it will end the massive train wreck that is the Fable Series. He killed it and now he can't admit that it is dead.

Wow, so much Peter hate in this thread.

Also, no mention on his new venture? Without Microsoft, I imagine he'd get back to his Black & White roots.

He's joined 22 Cans, a company started by a fellow ex-Lionhead employee. Or, as I like to refer to it, twenty toucans.

Nah, Alpha Protocol sold too poorly to get a sequel. There is no publisher who wants to do a sequel for a new IP that sold poorly.

It isn't hate. It's the reputation he earned.

The problem with Peter Molyneux is that he is a dreamer who was allowed in front of a camera/microphone.

Dreamers are great for the development process, they are the worst thing possible for the marketing process.

Dreamers are great for the development design process, they are the worst thing possible for the marketing process and the actual implementation of the idea.
Fixed (with addendum.) Peter's a great visionary, there's no question about that - whether he's been able to fully realise those dreams, or lead a development process efficiently, is another matter.

hard to imagine since they announced the next title will be an Arcade game.
Arcade games are awesome :stare:

Isn't this the evil guy that ruined and turned the souls of Fable fans black with hate?

Well people always seem to be picking the game up and trying it. Maybe one day it will have enough fans ask for a sequal.
I want to know more about Sis and G22.

I don't think there's enough wall patch in the world for how many times I'd bash my head against a drywall every time he'd open his mouth. PM is too much of an idealist for his own good. The only significant thing he's ever worked on that shared in the spendor of his true imagination was Milo, and were not getting that because it's "not a real game".......
