Tyrion Lannister

Now there's an RPG build...

Would it be possible ? To get through the game using followers only?

Not a single weapon kill ( maybe a very light bow or dagger?) and no spells.

Just sheer cunning and manipulation.

And full Lannister kit could be a nice mod.

Would it be possible ?

Extremely doubtful. Though I like the way you think. I'd love to see a renaissance of RPGs making a return to varied paths of questing based on diplomatic or non-violent characters.

I'd rather play as a stumpy Jaime than I would Tyrion. I think that would be a lot more challenging myself.

Define getting through the game, MQ? Also, is there a midget mod?

If you remember, Tyrion killed a guy with Shield, so i would think Shield bashing would be acceptable.

Also, since there is an appaling lack of prosttutes in the game, I think playing Tyrion would be rather difficult.

Using the player.setscale would get you the size, the rest would be up to your rp style.

This is an intersting concept. If you are basing it on only what you see happen in Game of Thrones ....well lets just say I hope they continue the series

Tyrion Lannister is non-violent in the same way that a Doberman is cuddly...

Also, it's not a matter of game mechanics or story telling... you just can't be that awesome in a video game. It violates the law or someting.

In the book, he uses the spike on his helmet as well, in Battle. Running midget Head butts FTW.

He goes on a rampage in the battle for Kings Landing, I believe with some kind of one-hander. Also does some work with a crossbow, but I'll spare the details for fear of spoiling it for some.

All that said, his main skillset is certainly ambition, manipulation, and knowing how to best utilize his riches. Perhaps in this RPG scenario you could be allowed to skill up 1h and archery a bit, but not use any perks there (or greatly limit it). Honestly though in the vanilla (nonmodded) game, I'm not sure how you could utilize persuasion enough to get you through the game. Helpers just aren't strong enough.

Plus like the other guy said, no prosttutes. RPing Tyrion without professional women would be like playing baseball with a whiffleball bat. You might score a lucky run but it would be unsatisfying as hell.

edit: is it possible to mod out companion count limitations? I suppose if you could persuade all your companions to follow you at once, you'd be pretty well off. Lag might be an issue though, with all those characters to keep track of in the same space.

You know it is interesting the number of people who want to import a character or a charcter type from another medium outside the TES universe.

The Tyrion in the books is a bit different from the HBO series. HBO likes to six up it's shows..

I don't think Tyrion in the books had a women till the night of the big battle.

I've always liked being able to play a guy that "wins" and RPG by manipulation, statescraft, and big-picture thinking. Whether that's Tyrion Lannister or Benjamin Franklin, or Titus Meade I.

IMO, the speech tree should have a third branch, one that deals with buffing your follower and perhaps allowing you to get a second follower at speech 100. Further, the game should have far more opportunities to persuade. Hell, in the Fallout games you can talk your way out of virtually anything, if your skill is high enough, up to and including the most climactic fights in the game. Someone with 100 speechcraft and all the relevant perks should be able to:

-Convince the blades to pardon Paathurnax.
-Convince Aldiun to kill himself.
-Convince any Jarl to step down and allow their stormcloak/imperial counterpart to take their place.
-Convince Ulfric/Tullius to surrender and go into exile once all their cities have surrendered.
-Etc.

That's the sort of implementation that TES would require to make this sort of character possible.

Yeah, if I remember correctly, wasn't that scene with Jaime sending a bunch of girls for Tyrion while in Winterfel spot on with the book?

When he fights he uses a battleaxe and a shield. He gets into some big fighting on his own on the next books. So no, using companions only wouldn't qualify as Tyrion RP. Of course you can use sellswords, I suppose.

He is my favorite character in the books

ARYA.[censored].STARK

Also, to whoever was saying Tyrion wasn't that involved with six scenes... Read the books again FFS.

I just put down one of the books to pick up my laptop. He is currently running around with an axe that he uses with both hands... not sure if that is because he is a midget or it is a two handed axe. Has used a variety of light armors so far, but so far most of the people he has harmed or killed he did by staying at the edge of the fights then hitting people in the back or breaking their horses legs when they were fighting someone else. He is not a real fighter, but will hit someone if the opportunity presents itself.

Tyrion
Imperial(just for the charm power)
Speech 100
Sneak 40
One hand and two hand 30
Light armor 30
Marksman 30

And thats it... oh wait... Lannnisters always pay their debts power= staring 100,000 gold.

Maybe give him illusion power, not because he has magic powers, but because he is SO good at influencing people he could trick people to turn on one another(fury), or leave him alone(calm). But instead of magicka make the powers drain his gold.

And in the book he doesn't have a women in every other scene, but he does 'talk' about wanting or having a women in every other scene.

Now Arya would be fun to play. Tiny so no health or armor, but insanely good at dogding and sticking people with the pointy end. And of course, a high sneak. Companion: a black tom cat that always runs towards bad things.

The girl who can
Spoiler
command dragons
would also be fun to play in Skyrim. Screw saving the world, I will rule it.

Playing as the Mountain - that would be fun.

Although you would have to kill your horse every time it does something wrong.....

In the books the first chick he got is named Tysha. I think she's whom you're speaking of.
