Uhh, way too easy? or just the beginning?

Post » Wed May 09, 2012 11:59 am

I've been playing on master from the start, level 12 now (I level extremely slowly it seems... have had the game from Wednesday) , and I'm finally getting used to it. Given some good evasive moves, I can kill most enemies. But I wouldn't call the game easy, I have died a good number of times, and I too still get two shotted by frost trolls, frost sabretooths (teeth?) and the like.

I find the difficulty pretty good, easy to kill bandits and lessar enemies, frost trolls are a bit harder, kill me in a couple of hits if I'm not quick...

I am playing on normal and just hit level 13. I am getting [censored] most of the time lol.

I think people who played OB will have to adjust since you cant just run into a dungeon and start swinging. You actually need some tactics. Im having a great time not flying through every enemy I see though.

So far, on adept, it's easy if I use lots of healing potions.

The melee vs melee combat is difficult with bosses though, the drain my HP in only a few hits, and it takes 10-15 good hits to take down a boss.

I think its perfect. I play on adept i think (under expert), and some mobs are very easy, some are just right and some are downright absurd. Give it a try, explore etc, sooner or later you will meet your maker in this game. Today i had to kite a mob up and down a long hallway for 3 min before it died lol :P

Have you fought a troll yet? They're pretty damn hard, especially when you find a cave of them,

How many high level creatures have you encountered?
This and honestly I said it before. I knew these way to easy posts were coming before the release. Look at the shouts and perks, along with some of the potions and stats on jewelry. The game was made way over powered, It wasn't toned down enough to make it a challenge in some aspects. I am not usually one to care about overpowered games, but I told my wife that it was overpowered a week ago and I was right. I have seen dozens of these same posts today.

I think it's the regen that makes it easy. the auto health regen seems over powered.
health doesn't regen unless your out of combat

I've killed 4 dragons, only one of them a MQ one.
They are insanely easy. I'm more scared of sabertooth kitties and giants than those.

I died 7 times within the first hour and a half of playing. So no. This game is not easy. (I'm playing on expert btw.)

I don't know what quest your working on but like others have said I've died many times trying to go off quest...the frost trolls and the giant trolls seem to me-hit me every time. If your getting past these guys without any issues then maybe your just better than the rest of us. I'm lvl 10 and I die on most encounters at least once unless it's a bandit or another easy fight. I am now trying to stay on quest for a bit until I lvl up more.

I came out of the Inn in Riverwood and walked right into three heavily armored mercenaries carrying two-handed weapons. The leader proceeded to tell me he was going to teach me a lesson and, as I drew my axe, he hit me for like 70-80% of my health. I sprinted away healing myself then turned quick and hit him with a fury spell. Then I charged past him, leading him into the other two where he aggroed and the three of them started fighting.

While they fought I got some distance and put a couple arrows in one of their backs. She then charged me and I took my ax back out and finished her. By then the fury wore off and the other two came at me. So I sprinted around the shop with them chasing me, but I gained a little ground and drank a couple healing pots on the way (the girl I killed got in a couple shots before I finished her).

Once I got back to the other side of the shop I resurrected the dead merc and she attacked the two live mercs. I helped my zombie merc finish one off before she was killed again, downed a couple magicka pots and backpedaled while throwing flames at the last merc, sending one of the locals running away begging me not to burn the place down.

When I looted the last merc, he had a bounty slip on him for me, taken out by the husband of the inn's owner (I forget his name). Apparently, he saw me stealing some of his gold and didn't say anything, but hired these guys after the fact to take me out. As I walked back to the inn, I passed a boy who was freaking out over his dog, which lay dead on the inn steps - collateral damage from the skirmish.

I walked into the inn and dropped the bounty notice on the bar in front of what's-his-name (Rognar? something...) and then turned and walked out.

Easy, no. Epic, yes. I love this game.

(OT - playing on expert)
