Finishing up preparations for a Christmas party on my server which is starting in a few hours.

The main event will be taking place outside. There will be big giveaways like 100's of diamonds, gold, iron, and other free gifts. Everyone will also be showered with pork and watermelon!

Alright, I'm not impressed. I log in, and there's no one from my town online. That's fine, I think, I'll head over to the other town and offer to enchant something for them. After all, I've spent most of the last 2 days (of my in-game time, that is) gathering XP. So, I get to the town, wander around peacefully, and get killed for my troubles. IMO, that is incredibly bad form. I get that we're supposed to be "rival" cities, but to my knowledge, there was no PvP. Further to this, it's was pretty [censored] clear that my intentions were peaceful. Walking around commenting on the architecture hardly counts as an act of aggression. People need to stop taking themselves so seriously. There's rivalrly between cities, and there's taking things too far.


I want peoples' thoughts on this. Is this supposed to be a full PvP map? Do people want it to be a full PvP map? Are we to abandon the whole notion of the BSF community running a city/cities together, in favour of some ridiculously polarised communist/capitalist RP, which only one side are playing?

As far I was aware it was full PvP. Just no Structure damage in major towns. But then again I don't pay attention much so I may be wrong.

Frankly, I think it would be dumb to go full PvP from the beginning. I understand that the rules allow for full PvP, but why are we senselessly killing each other for no reason when no acts of aggression have been committed yet? It's not very RP-like to just decide we're automatically at war for no reason from the beginning. I assumed we would be fairly neutral to each other until someone did something to change that.

Anyway, I'll be talking to Terpy and Bone about helping me make a thread on the server forum outlining city rules, inter-city rules and server rules, just so everyone's clear on them. So be looking out for that.
