Unofficial Minecraft Thread #74

Post » Sun May 13, 2012 1:01 pm

Also, I've been pondering the name of the site. BethesdaCraft has more of a Minecraft ring to it, and properly identifies the population of the server. What do you think? Would go especially well with Elder Scroll/Fallout themed servers.

how about BGSFcraft, considering none of us are aflilaited with bethesda and the majority of us refer to the server as the bgsf server any ways.

Eh, It'd be more accurately described as the BSF Fanserver, since some of us are here for games not developed by the studio. If we are going for a rename separate from what we already call it, we might as well go with BethesdaCraft.

...wrong thread?

In other news, retexturing IndustrialCraft2 textures is difficult without a base to start on.

Just changed the banner to get a feel for it. Still using the domain tesfan. I'm going to change the banner to BGSFcraft for now. Remember, this isn't my server, so it isn't my choice. The supporters are the owners.

Makes sense, since Mirglof has been the only active supporter to weigh in so far.

Then we'd have to implement Flan's Tank mod.

...huh. it's Bukkit-ready, too.

Hopefully soon. I want those extra block IDs and increased height limit.

I suspect we are simply popping in to check if our stuff is still there, but a lot of us are waiting for a "stable" build of Tekkit for MC 1.1.

I'll start playing again when the next map is started. I've rather lost track of what is going on.

Hey Tank, is there any chance we could have a new default MC map? That map is rather old and explored.

Step 1: Raise difficulty to Hard.
Step 2: Find a vast unexplored cave system.
Step 3: Turn off the in-game music.
Step 4: Play http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=5BTQ1oJ5T5A in the background.
Step 5: Start exploring said cave system. Avoid using a lot of torches.
Step 6: Have an awesome.

I've started the process of a clean map, no one plays on it as it is, so I don't want to hear anyone complaining about losing stuff. The backup is available at http://tesfan.mchost.org/downloads/TESFanVanilla2-21.zip .
New map ETA 1 hour, just need to clear out some settings and reconfigure dynmap links, implement multiple new plugins geared towards an RPG server, reconfigure permissions, clear out some MySQL tables and then test. Expect this map to disintegrate when it gets upgraded to 1.2(which won't happen until required plugins are up to date).

Also, looking to take in a new Admin, someone who is willing to dedicate time looking into to new plugins, getting input from the community and implementing them. I'd be able to help with anything they need, I just want more people in on the creative side of server management.
