I have 7 lint, 5 goldfish, 5 banana peels, and 1 plank.

Not having played in a while and getting 36 drops helped.

I think that phrase is what fuels Gabe Newell's quest for godlike powers.

I've been playing with gunslinger a lot these days (still mostly pyro but ya)... shame the strange ones are so expensive, the amount of kills that baby sentry racks up is just funny.

Gunslinger is one of the best things ever. It builds up quick and usually causes people to see it as the larger threat(It isn't, that soldier shooting rockets, or the heavy spinning up are much larger priorities) and they'll switch focus. And if it's just you and them, they still switch focus to the sentry allowing you to get up close and point blank shotgun them.

The direct hit is great for taking out sentries, or if you have excellent aim, but otherwise it's best to stick with stock. I'll admit it is my preferred primary for the soldier, but I've been using it for anti-sentry duty for so long I really fumble around with the vanilla rocket launcher.

The scotsman's skullcutter is really only worthwhile if you're a demoknight, as a shield minimizes the slower speed. If you're not a demoknight and you're using this you're just asking for a backstabbing.

The big earner is an interesting idea, but I've never used it and I don't see it on the field too often - although it's hard to tell since all of the knives (excepting the assassin's creed on) use the same backstab icon.

Also, Im calling it: Meet the Pyro this Friday!
Given the charred diary this does seem likely, and I wouldn't be surprised if it also kicks off the Saxxies.

Today's patch is up:
  • Added new attributes to the Eliminating The Impossible set.
  • Crafting two Banana Peels now results in a message being displayed. The Banana Peels will not be lost in crafting, however.

The wiki hasn't updated to say what the banana peel message is, or what new attribute was added to the set.

Hmm another update! Should of updated while I was at work, but as for the peels, I wonder what they say (When crafting, that is...)
Thanks for the patch summary!

Gah. I loathe Rocket Jumpers, people who use the Rocket Jumper + Mantreds + Market Gardener. Do these people actually think that they're being useful? Anything that could possibly be accomplished with that loadout could be done much better with a "normal" soldier loadout. All they do is jump around hoping to land on someone's head, wasting most of their time and doing generally useless things. The most it accomplishes is to keep people from standing still for too long, but people rarely do that anyway.

Wow, this explains the reason why I see many soldiers in half of my games rocket jumping around like mad dogs! I usually use Black Box/The Original, Buff Banner and Equalizer when playing Soldier :D

Pretty sure they do it to be annoying. I stick with either Direct Hit/Shotgun/Disciplinary Action, or Black Box/Battalion's Backup/Disciplinary Action (I also have the soft cap for the complete set).

Perhaps it was merged into another thread.

It was pointing that many of these items have been featured in previous Sam & Max stuff.

And what's particularly silly about the set up is using the rocket launcher instead of the jumper doesn't lessen your ability to jump around much, but it does give you a rather useful option for killing people.

Well it does give three times as much ammo and causes you no damage when you jump. Of course, it doesn't cause anybody else damage either, and using the Mantreads deprives you of your secondary weapon too, leaving you unable to do anything but try and land on people or use melee, which is also made useless by people using the market gardener and only using it when rocket jumping, as if it did no damage otherwise.

The Rocket Jumper and Sticky Jumper weren't intended for actual combat use, they exist so that people can train in rocket/sticky jumping. Well, at least you can't pick up the intelligence when using them. That would just be unfair.

I've seen the sticky-jumper used effectively in matches, but then the demoman effectively has two primaries and can do fine with just the grenade launcher.

As for soldiers, even if you take a shotgun the rocket-jumper leaves you pretty crippled, and there are many maps where rocket jumping is impracticable.
