I just want to make sure that there will be no complications for me before I buy the game and how good I will run it I think there are differences between PC and notebooks.

Intel? Core? i5-2410M
4GB 2.3GHz
1.5GB GEFORCE GTX 460M

This probably sounds lame that I can't figure this out for myself but I've been trying to look up processors and graphics chips and what not and I'm totally confused. If someone could just tell me what I need to run Skyrim on my computer (preferably at High). I think my graphics card is too weak but I'm not sure.

I tried to start up the game but here were my problems: it took forever to load (went through ten of the tips or so at the screen with the dragon), was very glitchy in the scenes (poor framerate), the characters' talking lagged a good few seconds after I heard it, my mouse wouldn't really let me move around (slow to move - had to move my mouse three times across the pad just too look 45 degrees one way even though my mouse works fine in pause) and the graphics were svcky. FYI this was on the lowest settings.

Here are my specs:

ZT Systems Desktop

*Windows 7 (64 bit)
*AMD Phemon II X4 945 Processor 3.00 GHz
*8.00 GB of Ram (7.25 usable)
*(I have two Hard Disck Drives - not sure which is right) 70.3 MB of free Hardrive Space of 99.9 MB (That's from System (I:)) OR 812 GB free of Hardrive Space of 931 GB (That's from OS (C:)) Could someone explain the difference?
*ATI Radeon 3100 Graphics Card
*(I have two sound drivers - not sure which is right) Speakers (VIA High Definition Audio) OR SPDIF Interface (VIA Definition Audio)

If any of this is wrong please tell me so I can be looking at the right info for my computers specs. Like a said I want to run Skyrim on High but I can't really run it at all right now so any help is greatly appreciated. I just really want to start playing!

An HD 3100 is not a "Card", none that I have ever learned about have ever had separate dedicated VRAM set aside on the MB for them, so none qualify for the game's minimum requirement. You need a game-playing actual video card to reach high settings. The card you need will depend on the screen resolution, but this game has rather lenient graphics needs, so that a modern Medium card, such as an HD 6670, should reach high settings on a 1620 by 1080 HD screen.

Not without more information from you, but I would guess ultra with a few tweaks - shadows at only high perhaps and maybe dropping some AA if you are going for a higher resolution.

It's a laptop, so no guarantees there won't be complications due to driver versions, power management or heating etc. The specifications list desktop components for good reason. That said, from a performance point of view you should be able to run on High, depending on what resolution your display is etc.

Thanks I have something to ensure my laptop doesnt overheat or at least keep it at a decent temp whilst I play games.

Hi, I'm thinking about buying the game but I went to canirunit.com and although I passed all minimum specs, my video card did not pass the recommended specs. (only the video card fail recommended specs.)

I have an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470 video card, 2.1 GHz, 4 GB of RAM, and 394.6 GB of space.

I'm on a laptop, a Intel® Core™ i3 CPU M 330 @ 2.13GHz.

I only really want to buy the game if I can at least run it on a console level without any lagging.

Please respond if you can help, Thanks!

Your CPU is "Slow" (a far more practical minimum is 2.3 GHz instead of the official Pie in the Sky foolishness), unless it has a Turbo Mode.

Your graphics card is only "fair", although the official minimums are nonsense, and it would actually pass, officially. Ignore that site. They have no geeks there with hardware savvy, and are wrong so often it's only a bad joke of a place. Without your screen resolution, no one can give you any final estimate at this point.

Okay thanks. So looking at the game (I know I said High earlier) I wouldn't mind running it in Ultra (if there is a worthwhile difference) as long as it isn't crazy expensive to do (Hope to stay under $100 but possibly up to $150 max if it's worth it.). My screen resolution is 1920 x 1080. Thanks!

I edited off the nonsense about the idiots at SR Labs. Your screen resolution is in the lower part of Medium for a wide screen, which gives you some wiggle room for such low end quality parts. I can't guarantee it won't slow down (I consider the use of "LAG" as reserved to describe an entirely different computer operation symptom), because the CPU is just rather slow. More than anything, you need to watch for overheating and conflicts with onboard power management when you choose a laptop instead of a proper gaming tower for a high intensity 3D game.

Your budget is just not adequate for "Ultra". In order to move beyond the previously linked suggestion pages, you must upgrade the power supply as well as getting a more powerful card. There are some cards on the borderline at the top of Medium, where High End starts, being sold for $120 USD stateside to about $140 that are capable of Ultra without difficulty at your High Resolution, but then a decent upgrade in power supply adds $50 - $75 more to the total.

Here's a Corsair 500 watt for $75 after rebate:

Okay sorry to keep going back and forth like this, but since I'm not willing to buy the extra power source or go over $150, (like I said preferably around $100) then I guess Ultra is out which is fine. Then I guess the question is, could I get a graphics card for my specs and resolution at the price I want and be able to run Skyrim at a level at which I can enjoy it and its graphics with little to no notice of any lack of graphics. (I assume this is High) Thanks again!

Without change of power supply, you're looking at the Radeon 6670 at best:

Considering swapping to PC from the Xbox version - though if anyone could confirm the game would at least run semi-decently on my PC, that'd be great! As far as I can see (being a minor-techy), it should run on minimum at the least, but it'd be nice to get a second opinion!

Specs:
Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium Edition (64-bit)
Intel® Core™ i3 CPU 540 @ 3.07GHz
3.0 GB RAM
ATI Radeon HD 5670

Looking at running it in 1680x1050.

Thanks in advance to anyone who looks into it. ^^

I've got a laptop(bleh) here that I was hoping I could run Skyrim on. I don't have my hopes up but...I guess it doesn't hurt to ask lol.

AMD Phenom Quad-Core N970 2.2GHz
4GB DDR3
ATI Radeon HD4250m
15.6" Screen - 1366 X 768 res

Thanks in advance :)

So I'm new to these forums but ive been a fan of bethedsa's games for ages.
Anyways what settings would I be able to run Skyrim with the following specs:

Asus N55SF Laptop
Nvidia Geforce GT 555M 2 GB
6GB Ram
Intel Core I7 2670QM 2.2 GHz turbo core to 3.1 GHz
I want to run at a resolution of 1360 by 768 pixels.
All graphics card drivers, direct X and system drivers are up to date.

Been playing Battlefield 3, Crysis and others and it doesn't overheat and has sufficient cooling.

The 4250m is pretty bad, so I guess you won't be able to run it.

I would guess Ultra, since your resolution isn't that high.

Any possibility of me running at Ultra?

Since your HD5770 has about the same power as my HD4870, I would say no to everything on Ultra, yes to a combination of some high and some ultra settings.

What settings do you think I would be able to get with this:

Medium could be possible depending on your resolution (with 1080p you won't be able to run it on medium), but I won't give you my word for it.

Your graphics card has grown old, You didn't name any screen resolution. What you have now will get you Medium Quality at Medium Resolution.

You can get to "High" at Medium resolution inexpensively; "Ultra" will cost you more than that.
