Always remember to take backup of save files and you'll be fine. Or even better:
Have an entire external HD/memory pen as backup for all you files.

It probably happened because the nirnroots are coded differently to other ingredients. A salmon or butterfly is effectively a moving plant, the game sees nirnroots as a different entity altogether, probably to facilitate the addition of the glow and audio scripts.

i know that. Just funny since nirmroots act as they do in oblivion and they never gltiched in oblivion (yet everything else did)

What platform are you on? Sorry if you have already said so, but if you are on PS3, it isn't out yet and there is no estimated date.

If you're on pc, 1.6 causes problems with many mods, especially the unofficial patch. Some examples copy and pasted from the mod forums...

Any mod that attempts to edit any vanilla dialogue will break the dialogue topic and cause it to lose its connection to its voice and lip-sync assets. This causes the dialogue in-game to become silent, with no voiceover and no lip-sync. You have to turn on the subtitles to get what is being said.

You may wish to uninstall the USKP for now if you don't like the idea of voice-acting intermittently cutting out.

Not only that, it will also cause any result scripts attached to the edited dialogue to fail to execute, which interferes with a number of scene based situations that start quests. One example being Armen's sword quest in Whiterun. Another I've run into is the Jagged Crown scenes in both Solitude and Windhelm.

I have yet to try the new update, as I am away from home. I hear there are several problems, inducing crashes, save corruptions, and just bugs in general. Is this true? Is it safe to download?

download it, if it corrupts a file start over, so far nothing for me, the only real bug i have encountered was the gallus journal one, and i still have it in my inventory.
