1.8 UpdateDragonborn DLC discussion thread #47

If the pedestal was featured in the trailer, doesn't it suggest it will also be relevant to this DLC? Maybe we are able to find Konahrik's mask because he traded up for a better model before settling in Solstheim.

I imagine they probably wouldn't use a clip of the pedestal from the vanilla game merely to lend emphasis to phrasing in the voiceover if it had nothing to do with the new content. Perhaps you must obtain Konahrik's Skyrim mask before you can begin this quest.

Would be especially interesting, as it would imply to have met Septimus Signus, defeated Alduin and to have encountered the Eye of Magnus. All of which could then be used in the subsequent story.

I also hope we'll do something with the Dragon claws.

Just as a side note, the bit of chanting that goes on after the title screen is, like the rest of the music, a rehashed Song of the Dragonborn. That particular bit, "Huzrah nu, kul do od, wah aan bok lingrah vod, Ahrk fin tey, boziik fun, do fin gein!" is translated as "Hearken now, sons of snow, to an age, long ago, And the tale, boldly told, of the one!"

So, who else thinks it could be Konahrik?
Konahrik was the leader of the Dragon Cult, and ruled from Bromjunaar. Miraak is supposed to 'rule Solstheim in their name.'

On another note, I hope Dragonborn will feature a long version of the awesome music from the trailer. I love its cheer epicness.

I second this notion.
Very nice alteration of the original Skyrim theme.

I'm not really sure about him being an antagonist.

I mean many on the forums currently assume that this Dragon Priest is Miraak, whose name seems to be composed of the words Guide and Allegiance. I think these two words might be a hint to his role to our character. Although it's also possible that he has sworn "allegiance" to Hermaeus-Mora and "guides" the worshippers of the Daedric Prince.
Fair enough, but Paathurnax translates to 'Ambition overlord cruel.' A dragon's (or Dragonborn's) name does not nececcarily signify it's current demeanour.

What if Miraak (guide + alliance) is the Dragon we *possibly* find on Solstheim and that gets killed by the First Dragonborn in the trailer?
I'd actually like if the Konahrik mask would be essential in defeating the Dragonborn. It would give the mask hunt an actual point.

Yes, the chorus was the best section of the trailer IMO.

Man, that bromjunaar sanctuary is such an atmospheric place, the past one when you equip the wooden mask. It really feels like theres something out there outside, would be so intriguing to step outside and discover the old Skyrim. Goddammit I REALLY HOPE they implement time-traveling DLC!!!! Encounter ancient warriors and actual living dragon priests and see the temples in full glory before they became ruined tombs, perhaps somehow interact with Alduin in the past to destroy him for good (if I understood the MQ correctly he may some day return).

One thing I'm wondering...do you think we'll be able to just grab the hipsterborn with our sith/vampire grip and throw him off a cliff?
