1.8 UpdateSolstheim DLC discussion Thread - #37

Post » Mon Nov 05, 2012 1:28 pm

Decent amount? Not including the PC, there's literally been two, maybe three recorded Dragonborn in the entire history of Tamriel. (Reman, Tiber Septim and maybe at a stretch, Alessia)

Wulfarth, possibly whoever wore the Amulet of Kings. Definitely more dragonborn people in history than reincarnated warlord's and Sheogorath's.

Incorrect on all three dynasties. Wulfharth was a Shezzarine, not Dragonborn.

Not sure why he can't be both. I wouldn't be surprised if that's what our character is.

Wasn't that added with Dawnguard?

Arngeir mentioned that Wulfharth was Dragonborn in game. All three Dynasties had to be Dragonborn in order to light the Dragonfires to stop the creatures of Oblivion from invading Tamriel.

No it was in the Vanilla.

Arngier calls you Ysmir dragon of the North. I think it may just be a title. Wulfharth was also the Underking, if I recall correctly.

Seeing how Tiber Septim was a Shezzarine and Dragonborn, it is possible that Wulfharth was too.

On Alduin's Wall, you see the three Blades kneeling down to you, the first one looks different than the others because it seems it has female briasts, indicating it is Allesia. The other two being Reman Cyrodiil and Tiber Septim. Wulfharth was an aspect of Talos in a way IIRC Wait thats Ysmir.

Are you referring to the right hand side of this http://dragonborncomes.files.wordpress.com/2012/02/sr-stone_wall.jpg? (It's the biggest/best quality one I can find)

I've read a fair share of these discussion threads, and I may have missed it, but has anyone thought about the Morag Tong? Our Davy Jones-esque friend in the teaser pic that has a helmet that looks a considerable amount like the insignia for the Morag Tong from here: http://encycl.opentopia.com/enimages/thumb/1894/1893949/200px-Morag_tong.jpg

Now, I know the Morag Tong is supposedly "gone" but they have promised to meet again somewhere in Tamriel, and Solstheim's pretty close to Morrowind. This seems as likely as any other DLC idea to me.

Yes, the right hand side. The Blades/Dragonguard kneeling down with swords in the air.

This is a gross exaggeration on the importance of the ruling dynasties. A number of individuals were able to wear the amulet of kings, without being a descendant of Alessia, Reman or Tiber. And if it were absolutely necessary, there were far better times for Dagon to strike, like you know, the Akaviri potentate assumed control of the Empire.

At least the Septim dynasty should have had Dragonblood. Since when is that actually in question?

They did attack when the Potentate ruled. That's what TESO is centered around. The plot involves Molag Bal invading Tamriel.

I'm pretending TESO doesn't exist, so I don't know what the plot centers around.

Either way, the last of Tiber's descendants to wear the amulet of kings was Pelagius the 1st. The rest of the Septim line are descended from Tiber's brother.

Crest looks like a spider to me. Indicating their connection to Mephala.

You can't just pretend a major part of the lore isn't cannon. Also being Dragonborn isn't hereditary. http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:The_Book_of_the_Dragonborn.

I'm not pretending the lore doesn't exist, just that the game doesn't. I know Dragonborn isn't hereditary, that's what I'm arguing.

Lore states that herma-mora had some involvement in the start of the morang tong.

Where? Mephala is attributed to the founding of the Morag Tong.

No. You are arguing that there only 2 or 3 known Dragonborn when we know that's not true.

I certainly apologize for not providing you all due credit, Sir. Skoomacat, I must also say you have an excellent point about the Spider and Mephala.
