Vampire lord Vs Werewolf

With a mod that gives certain creatures an actual Armor Rating (Like Dragons), you'll see Werewolves do less damage than Vampire Lords (Assuming you don't have Seranna with you).
I have the "Deadly Dragons" mod installed, and i'm facing against Aspects of Alduin and Bone Dragons that have 525 Armor Rating, which is 63% Physical Damage Reduction. When my Nord Warrior goes up against them in Werewolf Form (Which isn't advised with such high lvl Dragons on Master Setting with the mod on Master Difficulty, DD Dragons put the new "Legendary Dragons" to shame), he does less damage to them with his Claws (He's fully perked in WW Tree) than my Argonian Mage does to them with Drain Life in VL Form, and they have 33% Magic Resist.

well...you just mention that it is moded, what about vanila version...

I've maxed out my VL now and I have to correct that he is indeed stronger in his own way than the werewolf. I guess I had the "Serana Follower" bug where I barely did any damage with the VL's drain life spell.

But playing as werewolf is still more enjoying for me :)

i find the vampire more powerful . Werewolf i just cant enjoy while you cant change at will as often as you like . Hopefully i can find a mod that simply just does that and not one that makes you 10 times more powerful.

With the ring of Hircine you get an unlimited amount of transformations for the werewolf.

I am more a fan of werewolf...I think it is a bit faster and quicker, also you are resistant to diseases....afcourse vampire lord has more magic skills and is easier to control it and you can summon gargoyles and undead...but you also need to feed regularly and mostly avoid the sun...
You don't really have to feed. NPCs don't get aggro towards you when you're Stage 4 now, and if you feed you lose any Powers you gained from NOT feeding (which I think is backwards, you'd think being blood-starved would WEAKEN a Vampire, not make it stronger and give it new powers >_>). You also don't have to avoid the sun, since it doesn't do any damage or anything, it just makes you regen slower.

I definitely prefer the VL over the WW. Corpse Curse affects pretty much anything short of Dragons and Mammoths, as does Vampiric Grip. And Vampiric Grip, while most useful for flinging enemies from high places for fall damage, can also be useful in just snatching an enemy who's doing too much damage too fast and hurling them away from you. While they recover smack 'em with a Corpse Curse (since it's easier to target and hit an enemy who's on the ground rather than running around dodging everything) and then Life Drain away. It's also FAR too entertaining to pick up Giants and toss them everywhere ^_^.

Vampires win at a distance (a very far distance) or hovering over water.
Werewolves win at CQC.

The Vampiric Grip doesn't work on werewolves it drains a little health but that is it. Solution to being stunned is to summon the spectral wolves, in turn the vamps would summon the gargoyles, only thing is is that the wolves attack the target their summoner was targeting.

Only thing the wolves would have to worry about would be either the timer running out (Hircine's ring cures that) or no bodies around for health (munching on animals cures that as well). The vampires would have to be a far distance and over water to keep the wolves at bay. If they weren't over water the werewolf's speen would rocket them to the vampire in moments.

well I agree with you in some facts...but didn't you get messege when you are really hungry, something like "you have beeing hatred" or that kind of thing, I believe people then start to recognize you as a vampire, or are afraid of you, or something...afcourse you don't have vampire seduction spell when you are not hungry because you don't need it and when you beacome hatred you then get a spell called embrace shadow to hide yourself...

I tend to use Better Vampires and then reverse the whole feeding thing using that mods menu, Now I am strongest when fed as it never, never made any sense to me that Id be strongest when starving. I also take the option to add sun damage to me when Im stage 4, basically I want a reason to feed; doesnt make sense to me to have not feeding as a vampire be the optimal way to play.

On topic I love the VL form much more fun than Ive ever had with WW.

Before I get in to this I want everyone to know that this is all my opinion and I am not saying that everyone should think this way.

I've been playing the Dawnguard DLC for a while now. I've done the main story three times and parts of it more than that. However no matter how many times I play as a vampire lord I never feel as powerful as I do as a werewolf. I know that you do get more health as a vampire lord and you have more abilities, ever though you many attack ( life drain) is really weak, I still feel more powerful as a Werewolf. Maybe it's because I'm not that big of a spell guy but when even I see my werewolf make an enemy go flying and then slash at them while their face is on the ground I just fill so powerful. Also summoning 2 werewolves is way better than summoning 2 gargoyles. I also found it easier to kill Harkin as a werewolf even on Master.
Tell me what you guy think do you like the Vampire Lords or Werewolves with this DLC?
On a side note at one point a dragon appeared in DawnStar and a guard said, "Vampire! Everyone get in doors!" just thought that was funny.

You just spoiled the entire ending, thanks alot.

Personally enjoy the Vampire Lord a lot. Power bites and throwing people with the vampire grasp is just too epic.

I often find myself going on blood lust rampages as a VL, just like you would with the Werewolf. I cannot get into rampaging as a werewolf though. It is just the same old run in, maul everyone, eat everyone after I win.

VL I can relish in my ridiculous power over mortals. Pull them to me and watch them squirm, then toss them onto the roof of a nearby inn and slowly walk up to them right before sticking my teeth into them. Too much fun.

Pretty much this, its even more fun with the Warzones mod, last night I ran into a big group of forsworn attacking bandits, by the time I was done there were 30+ bodies littering the ground :)

I max out both vampire lord and werewolf and I got to say I feel more powerful as a vampire lord.

Personally for me its not so much that one feels more powerful its that VL has more neat tools I can wreak havoc on NPCs using
