Vault 34 Madness!

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 3:12 am

Stopped here atm myself. I actually fell through the floor and out of the map in a passageway to the overseer's office. What was the point of Blackwell's key? Did it open anything? I'm thinking it's a higher level dungeon, as these ghouls seem pretty bullet resistant for non armored targets, and if Veronica gets 2-3 glowing ones on her, she still goes down about as fast as I do, even with her power armor and Oh Baby.

The radiation is not the problem; that is manageable. It's the bloody computer. Everyone else gets to open doors. I have both passwords and the computer only gives information. Is there more than one active computer near the front of the vault? Or is my game bugged and i am forever stuck? Is there a code so I can pass through the locked door? Also, what is the treasure?

All you guys complaining are making me laugh.

Radiation was so little of an issue it was like a buzzing gnat. I have my space suit (+40 rad resistance) and a rad-x on and I only got +1 or +2 rads in the entire dungeon. I must have used 3 rad-x and 2 rad-away, when I had bought about 60 of each thinking I would need them.

I don't know why the doors were so difficult... I got the passwords just by exploring and it was all easy and pretty simple actually.

I was in there for maybe 10 minutes at MOST and it was the first vault I went into.

In this mission is it worth not going to the armory, i know whats in the armory i played through and went back to a old ave casue i don't know if i should save the sharecroppers farms or just say screw them and take all the awesome guns. Like does the ncr do anything for you if you don't wreck their farms cause if they don't give you anything its a no brainer and ill go back and take all the weapons.

You can save the Farms and get the guns. Just open the Armory before going to the Reactor. You get all the goodies (All-American is awesome) and get NCR fame at the same time.

If you use guns, than the armory is worth all the trouble in the world. Anybody know what's in the locked case? My lockpick is only at 83. I also completed a quest that I didn't have, and still don't know what it is.

The key-locked case has the pulse pistol, which is one of the three tech options available for Veronica's personal quest. The other options are the plant data from Vault 22 or the rangefinder for the Archimedes super weapon at the HELIOS power plant. Seeing as how I already restored power to the region and turned in the vault 22 plant data the pulse gun was my sole remaining option. I tried to approach the OSI scientist, Keeley, and the original data terminal to see if I could get a copy but no such options presented themselves.

I hate Vault 11 more. No rewards, bad design, and the Sacrificial Chamber scared the **** out of me at 3:00 AM.

I did it with reinforced leather armor and a hunting rifle. It was hell. Liberal doses of stimpacks, nuka-cola quartz, psycho, Med-X, buffout, and turbo. I was a Fiend in there.

I hated Vault 34 with a passion, the level was so confusing I could never find my way around. I been in that vault 3 times, and on the 3rd time I still couldn't navigate the vault quickly. Can't see a damn thing down there, and there is never a straight path to anything, you can make a safe bet that if you want to get to any point in the vault you are either going to hack something to unlock it, or travel through atleast one unrelated area.

The final trip I made into the vault was to grab two weapons I missed in the armory, and to shut down the reactor. I'm never going back in that vault.

I cannot stand this one either....not only did it irritate the hell out of me but scared me [censored]less as well! I hate it when I going along the corridors and all of a sudden a huge BANG sound pops up along with a dead ghoul flying through the air....THANKS VERONICA!! lol Scared the [censored] out of me.

Even though I had the guide with me, I was still confused, one of the worst quests to go through.

Ok for those who want a straight walkthrough I just finished this ****hole. Get the 2 passwords as mentioned (glowy bodies under desks in the 2 water areas no help with breathing necessary at all). Go to the top of the armory stairs (but dont go down). The room right there has THE computer (there are 2 outside of the password rooms not 1 that is the biggest issue most will have and wasted an hour+ of my time since I didnt seem to ever see this computer). Do the "system" option and pump the water out. The water spot is RIGHT next to the room (the door will be closed). Go into the Security station down to the next computer which opens the Overseer. Go into his office and kill him for 3rd password. Get on computer (#5 total, #3 of the password computers). Do "System" again and open the armory. Go to Armory and clean it out (come into Vault 34 with everyone empty!). Go back to Overseer and go down his hole into reactor area and decide which way you want to finish the quest line. The key is the clinic with its entrance to both halves at either end of the room!

I was following your instructions when I hit a computer needing 100 science to unlock. Does this mean I am screwed? My science is 30-ish.

No, you don't need science. You can find two keys to unlock both terminals. Both under water on the bodies of dead Tech Ghouls.

Vault 34 was an amazing level obsidian stepped it up. New Vegas isn't as friendly as D.C. You don't have monsters that are leveled to the player and you have areas that lower level players can't acsess.

Wait until you find the deathclaw promontory...

It wasn't too hard for me because luckily I had 7 or so pulse grenades <_<

I have the two passcodes from the two underwater areas.

I was following Groovdog's instructions when I hit the computer needing a science of 100. I did the water pumping part, but I can't get the overseer's door to unlock.
