A TOTAL deal-breaker. They promised that the game would look great.

''Bububu, demo's run on 360 hardware bububu''

Keep your freaking promises Bethesda, going back on your word makes you a liar and as such shouldn't be trusted.

Fools me once, shame on you. Fool me twice shame on me, but I can guarantee you that if this problem doesn't get fixed, you will not fool me again.
If this ends up to be a false advertisemant issue, than I will have lost all respect for this company. Just another slimy, money grabbing, corperate thief.

Still having them here, tried switching to SD component cables last night to see if it had any effect. It doesn't. I also left my game running overnight to see if that would do anything since apparently Gstaff thinks playing through texture problems will fix them, also with no effect. So I am stuck playing a brand new $60 game that looks like a child textured it. They honestly need to cast a wider net when testing these games. The fact that we are even having these kind of issues on a console is alarming.

Yup, I agree, total gamebreaker. Mountains consist of grey monochrome rocks cut through with seams, covered in a vague green mess, or "moss". The snow is lamentable, literally just a sheet of white - occasionally offset by the occasional patch of poorly rendered soil that cuts through angularly. I could go on for paragraphs describing the poor excuse for paths and buildings in Whiterun, or the gauntlets that look like boxing gloves. Frankly, however, I don't think, as fans of Bethesda and TES series, who've paid 40 quid for this game, should have to put up with this 2 weeks into buying it. This is a 360/ps3 standard game, not a ps2 one.

Everything looks perfect and beautiful here, right from day 1. Running on an XBox 360 S, off of DVD, with a HDD installed.

I played a little more today, just to see the what other anomalies the game had... besides from the arms/hands i showed on the pics... the snow on the rocks looks terrible... and some wood stuff too... damn bethesda do something already! an example for those who had not seen it:

( DIRECTLY FROM THE DVD AFTER THE 1.2 PATCH AFTER LOADING MENUS)

My texture issues have been alleviated with the patch, however they aren't completely fixed. Most of the time I don't notice there are any issues at all as of patch 1.2 which is good enough for me. I'm content with the current fix but I wish they'd fix the damn resistances. That's hella more annoying

I'm finding it hard to progress at all anymore in the game, being that I will be seeing some stuff I haven't seen with textures from 2000. I have been starting new random characters and playing 2-3 hours if possible. Progressing just to see if the issue gets better. What I observed was the issue getting worse, with my hands slowly losing focus, starting with my fingers and slowly moving down my arms. All of my previous problems remain (plastic stone blob textures, one-dimensional ingredients, green blobs I can only assume is moss, overall lack of basic texture in everything up close, etc.). Like I said I left my game running in Whiterun last night, just running into a wall. NONE of my textures loaded properly after at least 7 hours running the game off disc (1.1, cache cleared before starting a new game). I can only imagine how bad areas like Blackreach would be, having seen it before I had any of these issues.

I am having a lot more than texture problems since the 1.2 update. I now have backward flying dragons cant pay off bounty or go to jail in markarth. books on my bookshelves are disappearing and cant even activate the bookshelf anymore. I really like the elder scroll collection but if I keep having problems I will just return my game and make sure every person knows the bullcrap that Bethesda in not wanting to take care of or even wanting to even acknowledge.

Thank you all for responding and please keep to do so!
Keep this thread alive so Bethesda cant ignore this problem any longer!

Bethesda has already acknowledged this issue, Occupy jargon now meaningless.

Except that they haven't acknowledged that 1.2 doesn't fix the issue. And now it seems that rolling back to a previous version doesn't guarantee a fix either, although I am only speaking for myself here. I'm also not sure if you've seen Gstaff's response to a PM about textures post 1.2 which is in the first post but I will repost again:

"To be honest, most of the texture stuff I'm seeing post patch either relates to normal caching based on how the game works or are situations where people are generally unhappy with the textures as they're intended.

If there are additional changes made, we'll note them in the release notes.

Thanks for playing Skyrim."

It's just that I'm pretty sure we all know what our games looked like before and after this happened, so until a comment is made I can only assume he looked at pictures in the various texture threads and said working as intended.

For me textures up close look fine, but some textures from far away arent loading right, its a little annoying when i see a waterfall of in the distance just standing still.

These photos are mine, this morning, with the patch 1.2 and the game installed on the hard drive (X360):

Floors and walls textures mixed good and bad scale ...

* Still having the problem, both playing from disc and HDD. Textures look low-res and their high-res counterparts dont load in. This results in bland hands, armor, trees, rocks etc.

So fellow TES fans, UNITE!

Same, in a bad way.

It's not really surprising that they claim the issue is fixed though is it when they haven't even acknowledged that the patch has broken resistances...

Highly doubtful. Read the first post, Bethesda is under the impression the textures are just fine. I really hope they do, but I wouldn't get your hopes up. Expect 1.3 to fix other issues and if the texture issue is also fixed consider it a bonus.

So I guess that it means nothing that another patch is due within the next week to fix the issues from 1.2 then....

From there "What we are working on" thread:

Continued Game Updates – This week we released update 1.2 across all platforms, and we’ll be releasing an incremental update next week. We anticipate it will be up on PC first, and then hit PS3 and Xbox 360 later in the week. Among other things, the update will fix issues like magic resistance not calculating properly and the rare, amazing backwards flying dragon. Once the update is released, we’ll share the full release notes.

Anyways luckily I havent gotten bad texture issues even in Windhelm. sometimes I do get low res textures but my system will replace with hires. Im running the XBox Slim model with it installed. 1.2 did little to change the textures for me (though doubt it would have since it was a non issue for me)

As I stated in a recent topic, also the draw distance has been decreased. Now, the grapics OVERALL just svck big time and is actually ruining the game for me.
Fun - 90% = Failure and disappointment. First I thought I was seeing things, but after exploring the world more it became pretty obvious that this is a recent problem. I never had 3D geometry pop-in from a few feet distance or ever really. A big reason why I was impressed with the game was because of the improved draw distance over Oblivion, now it became a ugly mess.

I played the game over 140 hours now. Save A (pre-patch 1.2) has 120 game hours and I never noticed this because it simply wasn't there. Had to start over because my character shrunk for some unknown reason and it became too irritating. Save B has over 20 hours in it and is post patch 1.2 and with this save game I really started to notice the decrease of draw distance.

I can't believe how royally screwed we got with this game. EVERTHING is a downgrade from what they showed us with those demo's.

I didnt check while playing last night and this morn but my draw distance seems the same or I dont notice 'pop ins' like some are reporting. Im fairly certain 'pop ins' would draw my attention.

you are right... loads of snow on the rocks... those HORRIBLE static waterfalls that I almost have to touch it to see it like water, not a piece of blue/white static plastic pretending to be water... really this patch DOESNT FIX THE DAMNED TEXTURES, BETHESDA UNLESS YOU ARE NOT PLAYING YOUR OWN GAME TO SEE ALL THE PROBLEMS... YOU ARE BLIND OR YOU JUST DONT CARE!!! DO SOEMTHING ALREADY! WITH THE DAMNED TEXTURES, thats what makes this game a piece of art HOW PRETTY IT USED TO LOOK, FIX IT!
