I can't stand digital distribution yet own 110 games on Steam, each one an impulse buy or gift.
Likewise, I bought DLC once.
13 years later, I still regret trading a Venusaur, my first Pokemon, for the neighbor girl's Lickitung.
I don't like a single Bethesda game (I'm here for Community Discussion ).
Super Mario Sunshine is my favorite Mario game.
I adore Nintendo, despite their shortcomings (whch I do acknowledge).
I avoid co-op multiplayer because I'm afraid of messing up someone's game.
I love grinding.

I prefer FF8 to FF7. In fact, I think FF7 is one of the most overrated games of all time. I'd go so far as to say that FF8 is the best FF game made to date.
I can't stand MMOs, so I can't explain my interest in the upcoming GW2 and WoD.
I like playing multiplayer FPS, but I feel like I'd be wasting too much time trying to become skilled at it, so I don't play it much, because I'm always a dead weight that the rest of the team has to carry -- and nobody wants to be that guy.
I've never played Halo, and I don't intend to. Bungie are dead to me since they signed with Microsoft and abandoned Oni. They abandoned Oni.
I wish Sierra were still around.
I don't much care for Bethesda. I liked Skyrim for about 2 months, and then I hit the wall on it really abruptly.

I secretly love Duke Nukem Forever (though I don't own it..)

Words cannot describe my complete lack of understanding.

I have also never played nor do I have any interest in playing Portal (puzzle games are my antithesis of calm), Team Fortress, and Half Life.

You're missing out. The puzzle parts aren't that difficult. The draw of the game is really all about Glados. It's the Glados show.

I play EVE online.

I've insulted you recently. I apologise. Unless you're a goon, and then I meant it.

Ultra Heresy (I kid)

Hey, what turned me off was I downloaded a few graphic/gameplay enhancers that had been suggested by friends. It liked to crash afterwards. If somebody can point me at a few that are known to work together I'll give it a shot again.

  • I must have spent a few hundred dollars on various MMO's
  • I must have spent around two hundred dollars on Habbo Hotel
  • I've played days worth of Empire Earth (I)

I played through Deus Ex: Invisible War in its entirety, and started to somewhat enjoy it in the last 3 hours.

Me too. We need help. :cold:

-Despite saying Morrowind is my favourite TES game (which it is!), I've played it less than Oblivion, and only slightly more than Skyrim.
-Never played a GTA game, short of GTA IV. I own all of them.
-I play and enjoy CoD, despite criticising near-every aspect of it.
-I haven't finished Half Life 1; I only got around to starting it this week.

I liked Final Fantasy X-2 much, much more than Final Fantasy X
Generally speaking, I don't enjoy Nintendo games at all.
I have never played an MMO.
I think that the Disgaea franchise should have stopped at the first game.
I get seriously misty when I hear the theme to Legend of Mana.
I think Secret of Mana is only okay.
Same with Chrono Trigger.
Same with Baldur's Gate.
I think BoF5: Dragon Quarter is one of the greatest games I've ever played.
I prefer Hitoshi Sakimoto to Nobuo Uematsu as a Final Fantasy soundtrack composer.
I replay Castlevania: Symphony of the Night every year.
My riskbreaker rank is "Blade Master".
I dislike playing Bretons, and I especially dislike Breton male NPCs.
Almost all of my Oblivion characters have backstories involving space travel.
I think it's perfectly okay to roll a Malkavian first if you've never played VTM:Bloodlines before.
I really miss the Pinta's Quest VMU game from Skies of Arcadia.

I haven't played multiplayer in any game of my own will (i.e. not counting things like other people inviting me into friends-only games and such) in probably about ten years. The very presence of a multiplayer mode is incentive against buying a game at all.
I disliked the entire Jak and Daxter series.
I once had a save in Vagrant Story that had been new-game-plussed over ten times...until I accidentally saved over it.
It took me years to transition from keyboard to mouse in first-person shooters.
Altmer is the only race I have ever used in a TES game.
There are several "classic" and generally excellent games including Ocarina of Time, Symphony of the Night, Okami, and Dragon Quest 8 that I refuse to acknowledge as "the best" in show because they are too easy.
I love RTS games, but am terrible at all of them.

I played Portal1...it was kinda cute/fun for about 10 minutes. I didn't bother with the 2nd. Not my thing...but I can see why it may be for some.

The first parts aren't that interesting. It's only when you start pissing Glados off that the game starts to shine. I can understand how it's not everyone's thing, though.

Portal is better than Portal 2. Because the first one had such a small budget, its design was tight. Portal 2 has too much slack and resources, with the result that it makes less of an impact.

Nothing really happens in the first 10 minutes though, and the puzzles in the beginning are so easy they're boring.

10 minutes may be an reverse direction exaggeration. I really don't remember how long I played because it wasn't memorable enough to stick in my head. Might have been 10, might have been 20 or 30. Can't even remember how far I got, just remember big rooms and making the portals. Both hubby and I tried it because it came with Half-Life and neither of us disliked it...just didn't inspire any desire to continue. :)

I will at some point when the mood takes me. I just remember stopping after falling into a pit of geek rage when I couldn't get past a puzzle, though I did finish Portal 2 without having to search online for a solution so I'll give it another go.

- I thoroughly enjoy Halo (only a "confession" on these forums)
- Morrowind is not a gem-encrusted piece of the gods treasure like everyone tells me it is
- Minecraft has immersed me more in gameplay then any RPG I've played
- I find TES lore pretentious and self-indulgent
- I also disliked Majora's Mask
- my first game was Super Mario Bros. 3 on my grandmas's SNES

From my 100 hour experience with Oblivion, I agree with this.

-I've never owned a Nintendo console.
-I've not once in my life played a Legend of Zelda game.
-I grew up playing on the PC since I was 7, I still game on the PC.
-Video games, when done well, have the ability to make me shed tears.
-I've never played a Final Fantasy game.
-Speaking of Final Fantasy, I've never played a JRPG.
-I've completed the Main Quest in every main TES game besides Skyrim.
-Despite a lot of hate Skyrim seems to get on this forum, I think the game is really good.
-I played Runescape for over six years. (I can feel your hate from here.)
-I know quite a bit of lore for TES, but do not claim to be a buff.
-I own at least three different copies of Morrowind, all on the PC.
-Jagar Tharn's quote: "You were a fool to confront me!" quote is imprinted in my brain after playing the game.
-Bonelord's when I first started playing Morrowind when I was around 7 scared me more than anything else in the world.
-I loved The Sims series and played them a lot.
So, you stole my confession list? didn't you?

* I acknowledge that FInal Fantasy VI and Chrono Trigger are good games and enjoyed them...but I regard them as Square's most overrated titles after Final Fantasy VII.

* Speaking of Final Fantasy VII, I'm one of those terrible creatures that first came into the series (and later, JRPGs and RPGs) through that. I still like it, even though I currently regard it as the most overrated game of all time.

* I have never played a Portal game and I never will. Those stupid jokes it spawned got really annoying fast.

* I don't think Deus Ex: Invisible War is a terrible game, merely "okay."

* I try to play all RPGs generally in character, even if they don't have much in the way of an actual plot. Offenders include Demon's Souls and Dark Souls.

* Speaking of Dark Souls, I've come to enjoy that more than Skyrim and have sunk more hours into it.

* Ironically, though it was my gateway to TES and the western RPG genre, I've grown to dislike Morrowind and feel it has aged the worst of all the TES games.

* I never purchased or played The Witcher for years after its release purely out of protest for it being censored, even though I regarded the entire idea behind the six cards to be incredibly stupid and immature.

* I regard Mass Effect 1 as a pretty "meh" title all around.
