Video game confessions

Post » Tue May 15, 2012 12:27 am

Another confessions thread. Post something you do/don't do, have/haven't done in anything relating to video gaming.

-I've never owned a Nintendo console.
-I've not once in my life played a Legend of Zelda game.
-I grew up playing on the PC since I was 7, I still game on the PC.
-Video games, when done well, have the ability to make me shed tears.
-I've never played a Final Fantasy game.
-Speaking of Final Fantasy, I've never played a JRPG.
-I've completed the Main Quest in every main TES game besides Skyrim.
-Despite a lot of hate Skyrim seems to get on this forum, I think the game is really good.
-I played Runescape for over six years. (I can feel your hate from here.)
-I know quite a bit of lore for TES, but do not claim to be a buff.
-I own at least three different copies of Morrowind, all on the PC.
-Jagar Tharn's quote: "You were a fool to confront me!" quote is imprinted in my brain after playing the game.
-Bonelord's when I first started playing Morrowind when I was around 7 scared me more than anything else in the world.
-I loved The Sims series and played them a lot.

I may add more to this list as they pop in my brain.

Go ahead and share yours.

I like Oblivion more than Morrowind.
Daggerfall bores me to tears.
One of the first games I played was Duke Nukem 64.
I haven't played anything but the occasional mindless MMO or flash game for a few months.
I liked the first CoD:MW.

I played through Deus Ex: Invisible War in its entirety, and started to somewhat enjoy it in the last 3 hours.

I have never played a Jak and Daxter game.
I do not care for Diablo, WoW, Starcraft, or LoL
I like Luigi better then Mario
I have never played Minecraft (but I want to)
I own an Onlive micro console

I've played and enjoyed at least one game in every genre I know of
I don't like Ocarina of Time or Final Fantasy 7
I had a Sega Channel when I was a kid
I made a game once, but lost the source code
One of my favorite games growing up was Princess Maker 2
The only TES game I've ever "beaten" was Morrowind

I hate the Wii system because it's aimed for children and it's not aggressive enough.

I was content with the ending of Fall Out 3 before the DLC and didn't much care for Fall Out 1,2 but kinda liked Tactics (New Vegas is my personal favorite).

I don't think the Mass Effect 3 ending was the worst presented in gaming; that honor goes to Rage.

I have also never played nor do I have any interest in playing Portal (puzzle games are my antithesis of calm), Team Fortress, and Half Life.

I chose the wrong ending for Mass Effect 3 on accident because I'm an idiot.

I was super hyped for Skyrim, I'm 100 hour in, haven't finished the main quest, and really am just too bored to continue.

Fallout: New Vegas was so good that it ruined other games for me.

Nintendo hasn't done anything exciting (for me) in years.

Diablo II is at the top of my "# of hours played" list.
SOCOM for the ps2 is second on that list.
Ocarina of Time solidified me as a gamer.
DOOM was the first game I ever played.
My SNES and a copy of Final Fantasy III got sold in a yard sale, probably for $5.
I've never played Final Fantasy 7.
Yes, I do enjoy World of Warcraft.
Warcraft II: Tides of Darkness was my first RTS.
The piano theme in Halo 3 is the greatest piece of gaming music I've heard.
I've lost three sets of Diablo II disks.
I've yet to play Oblivion for any real amount of time, and I haven't bought Skyrim.
I played and finished Morrowind on the Xbox. Now that is an achievement, though I haven't even went to Solstheim.
I am horrible at fighting games.
I'll never forgive EA for dropping the MVP (baseball) series.
Madden would top my "# of Co-op hours" list.
If I could pick a job in the industry, it would be video game writer.
RPG is my favorite genre.
I played Quake 2 multiplayer with a thumb-ball mouse.
Speaking of Q2, freeze tag is the greatest multiplayer mode ever made.

I can't think of any more, but if I do I'll post them.

I like Oblivion more than Morrowind.

Heresy!

- I cannot stand the Zelda series. The games bore and irritate me.
- I like Final Fantasy X-2. A lot.
- I like Tidus's voice in X.
- As much as I worship Morrowind, I've seen maybe 10% of its game world, and have never completed the MQ or either expansion.
- I liked Deus Ex: Invisible War despite its extremely short length and consolization.
- I thought Thief: Deadly Shadows was an improvement in many ways over the other two games (But of course, not as good in other areas).
- I [censored] hate Star Ocean 3.
- Contrarily, I [censored] love Star Ocean 4.
- I don't think TES is all that good anymore.
- I thought the combat in Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale and Planescape: Torment was god awful.
- While I take advantage of any opportunity to bash games like Modern Warfare, I secretly (not anymore) enjoy playing them anyway.

I've never played the original Deus Ex.
I used to like CoD.
I named my first character in Diablo 2 Micheal J. Fox because I couldn't think of anything else.

A rather short but embarrassing list of confessions, I'll post more if I remember them.

I secretly love Duke Nukem Forever (though I don't own it..)
My first game ever was Duke Nukem on the N64.
I have a love for Handheld Pokemon Games, but don't own any- nor a handheld device used to play.
My mind has made it clear to me that a masterpiece of a game is yet to be made- I loved Resident Evil 2 & 3, and Dino Crisis 2, never has any other game made me happy since than...

I've bought 3 copies of Morrowind (all for the PC)
I was once horribly addicted to F2P Asian MMOs
Like Counter-Strike:Source more than 1.6
Spent 2.5 years levelling a single World of Warcraft character from 1 to 85 (seriously)
I refuse to call Dwarf Fortress a game, it's more of a simulator designed to give you an aneurysm as quickly as possible.
Never finished Fallout 1, 2, 3 or New Vegas
Really really hate Fallout 3 and New Vegas (both try to be FPS / RPG and both fail at both those genres)
Once had 4 level 90+ characters in Diablo 2
Finished Counter-Strike: Condition Zero once using only a pistol and without taking any damage

I used to like CoD.
Call of Duty 2 has one of the best multiplayer gameplay of any WW2 FPS ever. The singleplayer campaign isn't bad either.

You can hate CoD all you want but games 1, 2 and 4 (Modern Warfare) are all solid shooters well worth the price.

Ultra Heresy (I kid)

Another that comes to mind that after my 360 blown up, again. That I am now going full blown PC gamer. I just hope I don't metamorphosize into a platform elitist.

I play EVE online.

Cool game, the learning cliff I think is a bit exaggerated I think and happen to be an Amarr person myself.

Ditto. For me, the ragdoll physics are a lot more fun to watch while I'm dead and spectating, which is what I'm doing most of the time in that game. :P

I... don't even have corpses enabled :P Whenever I kill someone they just disappear. Corpses can block your view and ragdolls slow down your game.

Anything below 300 stable fps is unacceptable <_<

--I played Oblivion for about 5-6 hours.
--Never finished the main plot of Morrowind (I did play a lot of hours).
--Never played Fallout 1 or 2 and probably won't
--I heavily dislike/avoid sidescrollers (the format, not individual games)
--Had a lot more fun with BG1 then BG2 and didn't finish the latter either
--I don't like multiplayer/playing with others, and will play solo even in a MMO. I mean, random D2 Baal runs and LAN w/spouse is ok in short bursts. But mostly...I want to be immersed and alone. :)
--I still dislike DLC's and prefer the days of "expansions."

I prefer Bioware over Bethesda

I've only played about 15 minutes of Halo

I've only played Call of Duty 2

I sold Oblivion and Morrowind (as well as other games) to get FFXIII. I don't regret it.

When Fallout 3 first came out I thought the storyline was halfway decent (until I got about halfway through the game).
