Aegis, i'd say crysis 2 is miles behind bf3 on tech from what i've seen/read about frostbite 2's PC version. But for art direction it is definitely ahead

Although remember bf3 is going for realism, and it looks like it's going to thrash even the mightly crysis 1 in that regard.

I'm sorry, but you'd have to be blind to say Crysis 2 looks better than BF3. And BF3 is in pre-alpha.

BF3 all the way. No question. Crysis 2 looks good, but not as good as BF3.

None of these. I expect LA Noir or Skyrim to beat all of those. BF3 may look pretty now, but animations haven't been DICE's strongpoint.

I do hope the engine is up to snuff. I really don't want to feel like I'm playing a next-gen version of Fallout: New Vegas. (I've yet to play more than three hours of that game due to animation bugs and so on.) Yes, I know it was developed by another studio, but the point still stands.

Yep, I also voted Battlefield 3.

Skyrim? I doubt - it's RPG, these rarely have best graphics.... actually: never do.

Bulletstorm, maybe Dead Island would be my other possible bets, though I don't know really, all depends on how the things go with BF3 which even at Alpha version looks much better than final Crysis 2.

Crysis 2 graphics are phenomenal. they may not be the best in your opinion, but they are great

Battlefield 3 and Crysis 2 get a lot of votes because they are 2 well known series, whereas RAGE is a new IP from the devs of Wolfenstein 3D, Doom and Quake (id software), most of gamers in this forum probably have never heard of it before.

Yeah, With rage we will see how this megatexture-technology will be applied. According to Carmack every surface you see is individually crafted so there are less limits for the visual-designers, less copy-paste-textures and stuff like that. Let's see how this turns out.

Ah, yeah, John Carmack is the programmer of the doom-engine and pretty much the head behind every id-technology. Only today it is beneficial to have a team of experts to achieve mindblowing visuals since the technology behind it is getting more and more complex, needs more knowledge and fresh new ideas;)
