Vote-kick people who are not participating to PvP campaign

Post » Sat Dec 21, 2013 3:01 pm

Hello,

Since there is population cap for each PvP campaign, I think it would be fair to be able to vote-kick people from your alliance out of campaign if they don’t participate to PvP. Or an automatic kick out of campaign from server if you have not visited Cyrodiil in the last 15 days. There will be people leaching for Cyrodill bonus for PvE without participating to PvP, which would be very annoying for PvP players.

Best regards,

horrible idea. if they wanted to separate pvp and pve players they would of had 2 different mega servers. also 15 days is really a short amount of time. during my work weeks i wont play the game at all, so thats 7 days gone right there. by your logic if i didnt enter pvp during my off week i would be auto kicked from the campaign. also i wont even touch pvp until i am level 50

Wouldn't mind seeing a "AP quota" that had to be met every week to retain the PvP bonuses in PvE (outside of Cyrodiil). Nothing crazy, just something so raid monkeys can't just hop into a campaign and leech for nothing.

i hope its like daoc was at the start. if your faction was winning everyone in the realm benefited from it. i dont understand this mentality of, i dont want others to have it since they play pve. wouldnt you want everyone in your faction to be as strong as possible?

Nope. I'll be PVEing and RPing in Cyrodiil. There's nothing you can do about it.

I used to, before I realized there was so many strict anti-PvPers that absolutely despised any form of PvP and looked down on us all as griefers and villains.

Now I want them to have to stand over the stove a little bit to get a warm meal that we provide.

edit: To add to this admittedly selfish reason, I want to also mention that with the megaserver and the way campaigns are setup with population caps, you can logically assume that to receive a campaign's faction bonus you will have to join a campaign. I don't think its unreasonable to want people to have to actually, you know, show up to Cyrodiil to get the bonuses when they're potentially stealing spots away from people who DO want to go into Cyrodiil and actually participate. Nobody should ever get anything for free, but the price can be small and insignificant.

everyone gets assigned a campaign. i dont think pvp should be forced on anyway just like pve should not be forced on pvp players. we had this talk awhile back about how the pvp players did not want to be forced to raid to get the best gear. i agreed with that 100%, i feel the same way about this though. neither player should be forced to play a game style they do not prefer to get the best rewards.

now if they could come up with a way for pve players to help the pvp campaign...........

I suppose it could be argued that the more leechers were on a given faction, the less likely they are to even get buffs because their side of a campaign will be negatively impacted in Cyrodiil itself. So maybe it evens out a bit.

So what about the players who are questing in Cyrodiil, gathering materials to supply their alliance and craft for their alliance, and the players who are doing dungeons in Cyrodiil?

Counts as going into Cyrodiil. Good enough for me.

I just want people receiving Cyrodiil bonuses to go into Cyrodiil. I don't care what they're doing out there. Just show up once in a while.

I agree that as long as people are doing something in Cyrodiil, that's fine, I think there should be a system where you need to participate in X or Y to stay in the campaign (X and Y being pretty much any content within Cyrodiil).

That's all I care about. Maybe an AP quota wasn't the right way to go about it. Just something WITHIN Cyrodiil.

i also like the idea of more people going into cyrodiil i just dont like the idea of it being forced or have time requirements attached to it. seeing as i have no plans to be in a major guild i assume most of my activities will be gathering supplies and taking down small parties. who knows though, i said the same thing with daoc and i ended up pvping in major wars in that game

I will be as well. Also, while my character has no interest or care about the war effort whatsoever, he will be engaging in PVP while in Cyrodiil, without doubt.

When you look at every character as just another NPC, it won't be any different than being in any of the alliance areas. With the exception of being able to combat everyone you see.

Horrible biased idea. Not every person of a country or what have you pertesipates in war. Heck if you're gonna set minimums of participation in PvP why not set a Max as well?

Anything like that can be handled by the guilds in each faction. That I'm fine with but the devs deciding how much I should or shouldn't PvP would be horrible game design.

Technically all players are drafted into the military in ESO so you can't really get out of it.

I'd be cool with something along the lines of Carde's suggestion. At least, maybe those who don't fulfil some kind of quota or prereq get reduced bonuses instead of none at all, but yeah, it'd make sense to me if that were the case.

You are forgetting about something. In an interview, PVE also help with the war effect besides just PVP. Also, the theme of any TES game is "play how you want too" Therefore, there should NOT be a GOD / Overland/ rule set like quotas forcing players to play a certain way.

If you are useless to your campaign, why would they keep you around while you max the population cap? I think ESO should make hardcoe and normal campaign so hardcoe PvP players are not encumbered by lazy/selfish/leech PvE players...
