Were-bears vs Were wolfs

If you think that an angry bear is slower than a wolf, then you really need to watch more nature programs, lol. Werebear > Werewolf in just about every way conceivable.

Werebears are the Skyrim's werecreatures (barring the occasional wolf like the ferals) according to Nord legends.

Wolves would win if they had surprise and numbers. Bears would win one-on-one and possibly full front assault.
As someone mentioned before wolves would be the assassins (really bulky ones) and bears would the the tanks (more of a juggernaut).

We're not discussing combat between them, we're comparing the stats we might get as werebears.

Werebears will more than likely be the inverse of werewolves, giving them better strength, but lower stamina.

And wereravens with more magicka, but lower health and stamina!
Raging lycanthropic sorcerers for the win.

...Wut? Okay, you guys are gonna have to explain the whole werebear thing to me, because it just seems silly and arbitrary when we already have werewolves. Also, why bears, specifically?

The bear is on the same island as M'aiq.

Yes, this is common knowledge, but what isn't said that you must fly really high to see them, and although they also live on the ground they are quite difficult to see, being invisible.

Well the more options the better, for example i want my orc warrior to be a werecreature but a werewolf does not seem to fit him very well, now a werebear would be diferent because bears are big like orcs and they look like they could be tanks which would fit perefectly my orc.

And well i think players want bears because who doesn't love bears!
Werebears are also supposed to live in skyrim, there are supposed to be more werebears than werewolves in skyrim acording to the lore.

They're actually in the lore and they're the most common lycanthrope in skyrim.

I really don't get why people would want werebears when we already have werewolves.

There's nothing unique enough about them to warrant the time and effort to make them seeing as how they would just be a werewolf reskin.

And plus I can't even imagine how dumb they would look i mean werewolfs look cool all standing upright and whatnot. All i see is the bear doing that standing attack thing and waddling around like that ugh.

i am a werewolf myself, was also one in daiblo 2 where they also had werebears, 1v1 werebears would win, but werewolfs travel in packs, so 4 werewolfs vs 1 werebear the werewolfs would win, if u've ever watched a wolf pack hunt a larger animal u'd see they hunt in packs using special tactics to take out the bigger animal, while bears in real life just run in and kill no tactics involved ], but since u cant really incorprate smarts and tactics into skyrim id say its simply the tank werebear vs the smaller faster werewolf, simply a matter of choice

Why would they fight each other? They could be "cousins" or the Were Bears are a more stronger form of the Were Person.

Ignoring gameplay, why would werebears even fight werewolves?

Other than competition from favor of Hircine? Clearly Hircine favors werewolves. He is always seen with a wolf, he hosts the Bloodmoon for werewolves, he hunts only with a pack of werewolves in his own realm.

I was thinking something along the lines of Mazken vs Aureal.
Well, Hircine loves all of his childen, he just prefers the werewolves as a hunting pack, like how we use bloodhounds. But each Lychanthrope has its place in the Hunting Grounds. The Werewolves hunt the night and with Hircine when he goes out, the werebears come out during the day, the werevultures stalk the sky, the werelions bask in the large open areas, the werecrocodiles hide in the swamps, and the weresharks inhabit the surrounding oceans to stop any from attempting to leave.

It's more of a hypothetical discussion about who's stronger and the pros and cons of choosing one over the other, we're not talking about why they would fight each other.

Werewolves seem to be more humnoidish which would make them a little more agile, not to mention wolves are cooler than bears...

Oh, okay, so it's a lore reason. That makes more sense. I was wondering where all this werebear stuff was coming from, so to have pre-established lore here, and to have it pretty much ignored, explains why people are crying foul. Thanks for clearing that up for me.

To be completely honest, I am 900% more interested in were creatures when they are not wolves. Werewolves just end up bringing out the black make-up crowd sooner or later and bring all their usual pulpy fanfare.

But werebears had to step aside once Hircine announced himself with a pack of werewolves.

I don't think that Hircine favors Werewolves over his other children. I think he hunts personally with Werewolves becaues that is the niche they fit into with regards to the hunt. If he were hunting an Argonian who took to the water I'm sure he would switch to Weresharks and Werecrocodiles or which ever of his children fit the bill at the time. And as to why Werewolves are more numerous, it could be argued that they are weaker than their cousins and so more of their prey manage to escape and that he uses them in his hunts more often because using the other Werebeast in groups would be less sporting as Hircine always gives his prey a chance, however small.

And wereravens with more magicka, but lower health and stamina!

Werebeast cannot use magic in their beast forms.

I really don't get why people would want werebears when we already have werewolves.

Werebears are the most numerous Werebeast in Skyrim. By rights, Werewolves should have been left out and Werebears should have been the focus.

Why would they fight each other? They could be "cousins" or the Were Bears are a more stronger form of the Were Person.

I doubt that they would fight each other, for any other reason than personal strife, as they are in a way siblings and work together with Hircine in his hunts.
