Werewolf - Back to Basics

Aftermath

The group had decided that either Magda or John had to be a wolf. Well.. they weren't wrong. The moment they came to Magda's shack, a dagger suddenly burst forth from Idoso's (GorbadPS3) chest. Then, the wolves were upon them. The one person they all trusted, Alain, had been one of the beasts!

The slaughter was soon over; though individually they were decent fighters, they were no match for the brutish strength of both Magda (Teehee:3) and Alain (Fighters_Brotherhood) in the their wolf forms. Magda in her majestic, grey wolf form let out a whining howl, as if she thought none of this had to happen, if only they had helped her. Only Indy (Woolly) had tried, but well.. one mistake ended that.

As the last of the villagers lay dead, the moon began glowing a faint red. The wolves knew, it was never going back to normal. They were never going back to normal. All that was left for them was to sate their bloodlust on every last person in the world, stopping for nothing.

The end.

Wolf Victory!

Now, out of character stuff!

Thanks everybody for playing. Though I've played many, many games, this was only my second hosting attempt, and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. Day 1 and 5 were way, way subpar, but in the end it didn't matter too much.

Thanks to the new players, you were all among the better new players we've had. Special mention here for Lightcrux, who played a phenomenal sneak, though he ultimately caused the innocent's demise. He had searched Alain before the conversion, and thus still thought he was innocent. However, he was not.

Also thanks to some of the ancients, specifically Ratwar, Woolly, Mr E and North for helping me whenever I had questions about stuff.

Congratulations to the wolves for winning, but also congratulations to the innocents for putting on a very good show.

Please, if you have any criticisms, tell me! While I won't be hosting again any time soon, eventually I'll probably host again, and I'd like it to be better than this game.

I saw a pattern in the way the veterans were getting murdered and suspects TeeHee for quite some time, but I just coulnd't convince myself that TeeHee was a wolf, until this last day. But I wasn't sure of my case and I couldn't use the "veterans are dying, it must be another veteran!" as evidence :D

Very fun game! Sad that we had (4?) sloth's though. It's a problem that continues to appear in our werewolf games, not sure how it can be countered.

That excuse worked for Fighters in getting Ratwar killed. :P

I knew it was Teehee on the day Dalek died. I could have blind voted, but I like to make solid cases and just couldn't do it with what we had.

Plus I didn't want people thinking wolf bite had hijacked my account.

I thought you did a great job Oranos. It was a very fun game, I wish I could have been more active, but we had no internet so I had to use my phone and ended up using like 75% of my data so I was limited on how long I could use my phone. Hopefully next game I can be more active.

Also the players in this game were really good.

I thought that'd be a bit of a giveaway. Sorry to all the vets I had to pick off but it was just too risky. Personally I thought there was quite a bit of evidence against me spread throughout the game, I was surprised that even when it eventually caught on that I was a wolf, nobody presented a proper case against me.

It's always great to see new faces but I have to complain that there was far too much "roleplay evidence" being thrown around by innocents in the later days as opposed to the actual evidence Oranos was giving us. The sloths were unfortunate, and I don't even want to mention Hircine's behaviour towards the beginning of the game.

Big thank-yous to all my other fellow wolves, especially dmel, who turned out to be a fantastic schemer despite it being his first time as a wolf!

Also congrats to Gorbad for keeping us on our toes the last few days; if it's any consolation, you were next on my hit list.

That warms my heart TeeHee. :P

If my computer hadn't frozen for that 4 extra seconds, I might've been able to remove my vote in time :D I had two posts written already: One where I change my vote to you, and one where I simply remove my vote on john. I watched the timer, refreshed the page at 7 seconds remaining, but was a few seconds too late. :D

Thank you, I am glad I was somewhat of a good wolf since it was my first time.

I thought the evidence in this game was pretty good, it made me as a wolf go, "Yeah I can see how that evidence comes back to me." But I could also see how as an innocent it would not be too obvious (except the feathers in the woods, that was a dead giveaway, and the dead wolves since that was my purpose in the village.) Overall it was very good Oranos.

I'd agree with your comments Oranos. Day 1 was [censored] and contributed to me not really getting going until a couple of days after. I'd rather the conversion was brought forward a day and the evidence on day 1 was raised. But I enjoyed the game and thought the evidence got better and better. I'd probably say you stuck too much on Rat and too little on TeeHee during their alliance but no major complaints. Thanks a lot and I hope this is the start of a good werewolf summer.

Sorry for the [censored] way of winning. It wasn't very glorious but I figured a swift end with some drama was better than a drawn out ending. Plus there was the chance I [censored] up and got myself executed ffrom nowhere.

I'd quite like to see the evidence list if you kept one?

I'll be honest. I was a bit overwhelmed with this game. When so many people are playing, and so many of the players aren't actually playing, it feels a bit pointless.

Between the severe lack of roleplay that most people put forth, and the contagious apathy of Hircine, I found it hard to play properly. With so many people slothing out and saying that they're only playing as a formality and can't be bothered with actually playing, I nearly felt compelled to sloth out myself.

Werewolf isn't a roleplay game. Its investigation and mystery first and foremost.

With RPish sprinkles

Exactly. Most of the players who have played more games feel no need for role playing. If we wanted to roleplay, then we'd go to the roleplay forums.

Granted, but at this rate we might as well just stay out of character the entire time. There really isn't a difference.

I had zero chance at survival once the lord's manor was searched on day one. Not only that it's the third consecutive time I've been a wolf and murdered on Day 2. Not a lot of fun. In addition life has been pretty abysmal lately which hasn't helped.

Sometimes I wish people would do a little more RP too, yeah, but I can't actually make people.

If I have one criticism it's that I asked a question (and yes, it was highlighted in red) a number of times and they were never answered.

There's a fine line between all out roleplay (I need not mention who among us was the worst culprit this game but let's just say I killed him asap) and none at all which very few people seem to get right. The characters simply enable us to provide the host with possible evidence and to force players to remain relevant to the context of the game's scenario - there's hardly any need to expand on them further.

LOL I was one of the svcky noobs, wasn't I? :P

Sorry for relying on role-play evidence. It seemed to me that swift changes in personality would count as evidence. And I really svck at this game, and I'm pretty sure it was my own stupidity that made people know I was innocent, and therefore I got to sit through the entire game. I knew the innocents were gonna lose by Day 5 or 6 anyway. I doubt my ability to come up with a decent case, so I mostly stayed out of it, and whatever things I could see I only made a passing remark so that the veterans (or, in mind, the "smart people" :P) could elaborate on.

I don't know whether I should play again or not. I seem too dumb to deserve to play again. :P

Noooo, Lexicon, you were the first person to actually call me out and present a case against me today. Even if some of it was roleplay evidence, I'll admit I struggled to mount a defence against it. You did good! :)

Future hosts should remove the personalities category. It's ridiculous to have 15 erratic Type A characters played by people who barely type a line here and there and don't care about anything. Having a personality means you should play within it at least to some extent.

It was your first game, everyone makes mistakes early on. You're doing yourself a great disservice if you don't play again. You are a good player.

Personality is the most important evidence. Character sheets exist to create evidence not for roleplaying.

Edit: Also, TheLexicon, you were great. Noobs always live longer then vets and you were one of our main threats on the last day. So definitely play again.

Personality helps put evidence against the wolves and is an important aspect of the game.

Edit: Ninja'd by Fighters
