Werewolf, Vampire, or Neither?

I would say vampire. It adds a whole other dynamic to the game that you need to constantly be aware of. If you fail to quench your thirst then you could walk into town and be attacked by everyone. Werewolves however got old really fast. If the Lycanthopy turned you into a werewolf at random times once a day rather than being activated by the player then it would of been a lot more fun to play. There could be a warning or animation saying your about to turn giving you time to get out of a town before your spotted. The Ring of Hircine could of been something to help you control it.

I recently got my character to become both, I try to think of the vampirism as a consequence of lycanthropy since it seems that being a vampire has no benefits while being a werewolf has no downsides in this game.

Werewolf:

Bad thing: Accidentally hitting the 'change into a werewolf' button when you actually meant to jump down the stairs into the market at Whiterun.

Good thing: Changing into the wolfman and chasing that little snot gobbler around Solitude who says to you "I thought adventurers were supposed to look tough" (okay, requires loading a save game, but it is sooooooo satisfying).

I always accidently blow people away.

Lets see...
100% resistant to disease
100% resistant to poison
100% resistant to frost
25% more powerful Illusion spells
25% better sneak
Night Vision

Notable Powers - once a day
Reanimate a very strong dead body for 60 sec
Indivisibly for 180 sec

Bonus - Vampires are affected by the Restoration Perk Necromage, making them the most powerful mage in the game.

I'd say that's rather beneficial.

I quite like my vampire char, but I am using AR's Vampires, so I have no idea about vanilla. Werewolves don't scale well, but you don't have to use it, and the only downside is the no rested bonus. While Vampires must travel in darkness.
