Underworld the first one was good and the others not too bad

You are joking right?!

EMO Goth wannabe movie, but than again Hollywood has a way to ruin many stories! Interview with the Vampire is one 'o the better movies where vamps are concerned if you ask me!

Never heard much about a "war" or conflict between vampires and werewolves in TES but i doubt they would even like eachother much should the two even meet, so...RP whatever you want i guess!

Obviously the war between Werewolf’s and Vampires has been adapted in many ways in pop culture. Will Skyrim keep with them as fierce enemies? I’m picturing vampires armed with silver weaponry versus a group of pissed-off werewolf’s… would be sooo cool.
Well in the war, of witch one is actually fun to be we already have a clear winner. I will give you a hint, it's the one where you don't die horribly in sunlight with out any significant bonus.

No it would not be cool at all.
It would be lame and stupid.
I really hope that nothing like werebeasts vs vampires happens in TES... ever!
There is no reason for those two fighting each other.

No. Just no. They have no reason to fight each other at all. If anything, they should help each other out since they are both afflicted people who are considered "abominations" and "Perversion of man".

Vampire vs werewolves in ES is not welcome.

they don't have any reason to fight each other but they wouldn't join together as well.
vampires consider werewolf's blood a delicacy (very hard to acquire as they would be slaughtered by the werewolf anyway :P)

so basically they leave each other to themselves and only fight when a vampire has a case of the sweet tooth :P

Well, Jsashe, I'm glad you asked that question. You see, I'm a werewolf, and I live in Skyrim.

So you want to know how I feel about vampires, eh? I'll tell you.

Vampires are very impressed with themselves, but we werewolves call them...the jellyfish of the night. They make us laugh. They think they're special, but they aren't. They think it's fun to be a vampire, but it's actually pretty silly. If they drink blood, it weakens them. What strengthens them is their thirst, which only results from NOT drinking blood. I know what you're thinking. You're thinking that vampires get their power from drinking blood. Well, it's not true. They get weaker by giving into their thirst. The blood only weakens them. Yet they are doomed to crave it.

Have you ever seen the jellyfish of the night when they haven't had their witto itty bitty sippy o' blood? Hahaha - their faces sag and become horribly disfigured. Sure, they become stronger, but they can't walk around in public. Even the sun can't stand to be around them, so it burns them. Hahaha - they look like wrinkled old prunes, shriveling up in the sunlight. Have you ever seen a more pathetic sight than a fragile, delicate, jellyfish of the night sizzling in the sun? It's a sight not to be missed, I can assure you.

And did you know that no one has ever died from the bite of a vampire? Yes, that's right. For all of their hype, the jellyfish of the night are completely benign. Some might say spineless. They're like a kitty cat that's been de-clawed. Whoops! Can't scratch that post now, can ya wittle kitty katty! Hee hee!

Vicious enemies? Hardly. Werewolves don't consider vampires their enemies any more than you might consider ants your enemy. Sure, if one gets in your house, you're going to kill it, possibly call an exterminator. But that's about it. They're not worth our time. They cannot compare to the glory that is Lycanthropy.

Where vampires can only sneak up to people in their beds and take a tiny little sip of blood, like some kind of perverted Sandman, Werewolves can tear their enemies to pieces and feast on their remains. Where vampires get weaker when they drink blood, werewolves are invigorated by gorging themselves on flesh. In fact, we must feed on the flesh of our victims, lest our were-health runs out and we revert back to being human again. Werewolves have power. Vampires are a joke.

But I am but a mere golem. My master feels quite differently about vampires than I do. He is so frustrated that vampires are the same in Skyrim as they were in Oblivion, that he has vowed to seek them all out, hunt them down and kill them, feasting on their spineless bodies and wiping them off the face of the earth. He says he will name me Lucian, whatever that means. Something about the underworld or something and the great injustice done against werewolves in the name of vampires or something. Whatever. I'm just a golem.

Command me, my master.

i enjoyed reading that haha

i really hope vampires are alot faster and more acrobatic then oblivion i remember in morrowing my vampire could clear half the town in one running jump also with warewolves in or dlc in im sure warewolves will run fast like bloodmoon or least be superstrong by the looks of there underworld style bulky body

after all you can only be one or the other and vamps in oblivion were basically just the dark gift powers which could be granted by armour or the arcane university spellmakeing maybe vamps jump high for roof top hunting and warewolves run fast :)

True blood and Van Helsing movie had vampires manipulate werewolves as their own tool for their own purposes. I could see TES having ancient vampires using werewolves as a slave for their purposes, then possibly a werewolf uprising. That could be fitting. Actually Underworld had that too now that I think of it.

After all ancient vampires wouldn't want to just "join forces" to protect themselves against the haters. Rather they'd want to manipulate werewolves as their own minions instead.

Yes, I remember the book from Daggerfall lol. I think the other instance was a quest were a small tribe of Lycanthropes were living in a cave where a vampire meeting was to take place, so the vampire player had to go clear it out and kill the pack alpha.

I think it was pretty good for what it was: A low budget (20 million) movie made by a new director (Len Weisman's first movie) about a somewhat corny subject (vampires vs lycanthropes).

On the thread topic... they could probably finagle it into some side-quest where a small band of vampires hates some other group of werewolves for X reasons, but all other weres/vamps should be indifferent to each other.

Don't hate on the idea of Werewolves Vs. Vampires just because of Twilight people! That book turned movie series is hardly worth bringing up on account of it being for prepubascent teenage girls. The idea of the two clashing has been one for centuries so don't let some crappy book manipulate you into thinking it's lame. Anyway if the two did go to war in Skyrim it wouldn't be how any of us would expect, TES is known for it's twists and turns so if anything I would have to agree with another poster who said that the Vamps would manipulate the Werewolves for their own good then we see a Werewolf uprising, that's the closest to what would actually happen. But chances of that happening are indeed very slim. However if we bring the idea up enough in the forums, it could be an interesting DLC.

My comment was completely missed. Werewolves vs. vampires is like Apollo vs. Dionysus. Apollo was all about reason and logic and poetry, whereas Dionysus was all about blood and gore and alcohol. Nietzsche talks about this.

In American tradition, vampires are all about forbidden sixual desires, while werewolves are all about uncontrollable violent appetites. But these concepts go back much farther than that. Bram Stoker didn't simply invent vampires. He had inspiration. And seriously, ancient people thought in terms of the inner beast. Both are different ways of personifying the inner desires of the heart. Both represent the internal struggle we all go through.

But in Skyrim, it's quite obvious. The Thalmor are all vampires, and the Companions are descended from Ysgramir's 500 Companions, and the Companions are werewolves. Who defeated the elves the first time when they tried to destroy man? Ysgramir and his Companions. They were werewolves then, they're werewolves now. It's the werewolves who must defeat the Thalmor menace. Werewolves are the last great hope of mankind in Skyrim.

I think we should have both creatures hiding in society manipulating the humans from up in high society. And if they come across each other they have a conflict for political power not fight each other just to kill each other.

No. They hunt werewolves for food because their a mix of man and beast. Hircine would sick his Hounds on their assess if they even thought of hunting werewolves for fun. But then again, it would be sport.
