What about AEDRIC quests and artifacts for the next DLC?

Post » Sat Nov 17, 2012 3:44 am

I think that the daedric quests were fantastic, but they always involve being evil or at least unholy, wich it's cool. But it wouldn't be awsome to have the chance of being the champion of the aedric gods? Getting weapons, shields, rings, staffs and even a holy kick ass aedric armor set, as counterpart of the daedric one? : D Greetings to all of you guys!

There are a few Aedric quests already in there, but far too few, and none have true "artifacts".

Yeah, I got them both, and yes! They're awsome! But it would be cool to have a more detailed plot about the aedra and their artifacts. For example, you found all the daedra that are mentioned in the Book of Aedra and Daedra. I think that Skyrim has a lot of options if you want to play as an Evil guy, but not as much if you want to be the good guy of the story.

I agree to an extent though I am ALWAYS the bad guy haha you're looking for something along the lines of the Crusader stuff from KOTN in Oblivion.

Well you can't really have aedra quests when they are techincly dead and cannot talk to their followers directly like daedra can.

Maybe some lore speaks against it, but I would love to have direct communication with the Aedra like you can have with the Daedra.

And yes, Aedric artifacts and more Aedric quests would be AWESOME!

And on the topic of Aedra: Am I the only one who think that there needs to be more references to Julianos?

Aedra have been in the games before, but not in the same way as the Daedra. Probably because the Aedra can not have direct influence on Nirn the way that Daedra do. We know them mostly from their artifacts, which have been central to a few plot lines in previous games.

That is such a great idea, my favorite thing about The Elder Scrolls has been the mythology and religious aspects. Julianos has awesome potential for amazing puzzles, and truly taxing quests. Which I absolutely love!! I just wish Bethesda could find a way to completely randomize them, so there was no possible way to cheat or find out the answer except through a thorough examination. Course, I still miss not having an arrow telling me where to go. ;)

This. I mean one of the major plot lines in this game revolves around a fight over the right to pray to talos. At the very least they should allow players the ability to wield something in his name or wear his armor lmao.

Exactly, not hatin of Stormcloack Officer ( becuse its awesome), but I'd expect something atleast close to resemblance. Even the Stormcloacks could have had enchanted weapons that have a blessing from Talos.

I assume the Aurielian artifacts are really awesome (I haven't played DG yet), because I can already create weapons and armor with my 3 characters that are vastly superior to any Daedric equivalent.

In fact, there are stories that could be based on such things. After all, if the Dwemer thought they could challenge the gods, there must be others who think so as well.

Honestly one GOOD thing I feel that has come of players abusing the holy hell out of enchanting/smithing/alchemy is that Bethesda is now working hard to figure out really special abilities for their new items. Instead of generic "drain stamina + health" relics they create wonky new items that do crazy things like
Spoiler
Absorb impact shields that allow you to fus-roh-dah enemies, sun-blasting arrows, circlet that lets you choose two stone perks, etc etc etc

Overall I really really do believe that Bethesda should look into creating more Aedric style quests, artifact weapons, and armor. Whether they be man made but blessed by the aedra or otherwise granted by the aedra themselves.

Well the aedra themselves can't grant the items since they are dead unlike deadra but quest's centering around aedric artifacts would be fine.
