What are you anticipating more, Battlefield 3 or Skyrim?

Post » Thu Aug 18, 2011 7:40 pm

Personally, I am looking forward to BF3 way more than Skyrim, although Skyrim will also eat up quite a bit of my time once it comes out. (Mods added 500 hours of gameplay to Oblivion for me)

But yeah. I'm more pumped for BF3 just because Battlefield 2 was great, and the game will look amazing. (I'm on PC.)
BF3 will also be more immersive (some can argue with that), and the HDR audio completely blows me away. 12 v 12 jet fights while 40 other people battle it out on the ground? Yes.

Note I am not comparing which game is better, because there is no answer to that, they are completely different games. I am just asking which game you are more excited for. And I suspect Skyrim will win the poll since these are the Bethesda Forums. But yeah, just curious

Let's see..you're asking this on Bethesda's forum, I wonder what will win? As for me, I look forward more to an epic RPG any day over another FPS.

Battlefield 3 isn't another fps. Have you ever played any of the Battlefield games? If not, your statement is based off ignorance.

Skyrim will be epic, but participating in a huge battlefield with 64 players via air, land, and sea takes the cake for me. It's not a run and gun game, you push up to objectives, and there is nothing like the feeling of marching down a hill with your tank platoon, raining fire on a village while the enemy falls back to the second set of objectives.

Battlefield and TES are my two favorite game franchises, but I'm gonna have to go with Skyrim.

I have, and it was definitely an FPS, so his statement is correct.

I have no interest in Battlefield, so I'm obviously anticipating Skyrim.

No, it wasn't. Because he was implying that Battlefield is another generic FPS which is very wrong. Either you didn't notice the italicized "another" or your trying to be clever.

Eh, not really. I didn't say it was generic, I'm just sick of the FPS genre. It's not a big deal, just my opinion.

opinion != fact

For some it is another FPS, obviously you are anticipating it but that doesn't mean everyone is.

For me I'm looking forward to BF3 but I need to decide if I am going to buy it with how they're behaving with their pre-order bonus. I also would like to have a beta so I can see if my laptop can run it.

Skyrim...obviously. I doubt I'll even buy BF3 (most definitely not an FPS fan) but I'll decide that later.

I'm fine with the pre-order bonuses, but I'm peeved that EA is using BF3 as leverage to get people to use Origin.

I don't really mind the whole origin thing it didn't seem that bad from what I experienced of it in alpha. I'm worried about the Karkand pack splitting the community.

I know Origin isn't bad, but EA is hurting BF3's sales by keeping it off Steam. And I REAAAALLY want BF3 to outsell MW3.

Basically a slap in the face to Activision who milks a dead cow every year and still earns millions for it.

I have no personal investment in the sales. As long as it sells well enough for the series to continue and so I can play with other people I don't care.

Considering I barely know or care what "Battlefield 3" is, Skyrim all the way. Okay, did a search on it. Another generic FPS... Yeah, I definitely want that over whats sure to be the GOTY.

I am excited for Battlefield 3's graphics, I might pick it up, there is a 50% chance I will. Skyrim is a 100% automatic buy for me.

Are you kidding me? Battlefield 3 is not a generic FPS.
I understand that this is a beth forum, so I know that obviously more people will choose Skyrim, but you have obviously never played a Battlefield game and you're just trying to sound like the average pretentious "informed" gamer. Honestly, you just sound like a [censored].
