what benefits does the Legion have? : Fallout: New Vegas

i plan to make my next playthrough a friend of the Legion but i got a couple a questions, would it matter what gender i pick? also do they sell weapons like the NCR or only machetes and throwing spears. another thing is if i get far enough with the legion will there be more of them in the wasteland? and lastly do they make any big allies and if there is anything else that might be related to this topic please do tell. i just want a simple answer not much details anyways thanks in advance

Only males can fight in the arena as far as I know. As for there being more of them, only two instances if I recall correctly. One, when you take over Forlorn Hope (not sure about this though. NCR might just spawn back.) and two, when you destroy the NCR at Helios One.

You can get a ton of ammo, money or armour with two side quests on offer, and other rewards for being a legion supporter in their safe house.
Apart from that they don't have that much to offer in traders, weapons or mods ... or anything of that sort.

Well, I suppose if you like being a brutal dealer of punishment, I guess thats a benefit, but I don't know. I can't think of any benefits, not for me personally anyway.

the Legion Safehouse is the best safehouse ever

There are cool sunglasses and a chainsaw, 2 primary needs in the Wasteland

Also there's a guy who gives you a magazine every 24 hours. Not a single other safehouse has this useful 'safehouseguy', the BoS has a guy who does full repairment, but there's also Raul so that makes the guy at the BoS kinda useless.

I usually kill Caesar after I got the safehouse key and a few magazines
