What has been your greatest’ purchase you made.

Post » Sat May 12, 2012 3:30 am

Mine would be:
My 42' LCDHD 1080P Hisense tv.
an external hard drive for my PC (being a cartooniest buying one is a must).
My Scorceress (from the 2000 He-man Reboot) mini statue and Swiftwind.

Edit:
Buying a 3DS: I've really enjoyed playing with this handheld, I can take 3D pictures and make 3D videos (although limited to 10:00 min. but that's enough), and being part of the Ambassitor Program (Only avalible to those who bought a 3DS BEFORE the price drop) I got a few free games. It's demoted my PSP seeing as I haven't played any of my PSP games in awhile.

Such a hard choice for me.

1) Intel core i7 2600k
2) 3xAsus 23" screens for eyefinity. Nothing like having 69" of screens to work with

My 30 GB SSD, even if it svcks my today's standards. Makes computers a joy to use, any application loads in a second.
My old Grado SR60i headphones, which changed the way I listen to music (even if I don't like the company anymore).
The jacket I'm wearing right now. I only ever take it off to shower or sleep.

I've had it for three years, I honestly have no damn idea!

It looks a litte bit like this, but has a lot more of that soft area all over it: http://www.redferret.net/wp-content/uploads/2009/12/deluxexrecliner.png
(not really a PC-gaming chair though)

I like this:

But it's €2,000.

The more I drink, the more reasonable that sounds.

EDIT: Although for a mere 6 million I could get this:

EDIT #2: This is more like it. I could actually afford this and it looks damn comfy.

I went from a 15", really old tv, to a 40" Bravia one year, and I have to say that was the best purchase I've ever made. I ended up having to sell it, but I'll never forget the enormity of that change playing on my 360.

I have six copies of MW. None are sealed. You've just given me the best reason to buy copy number 7. :D

I bought two nice solid bed tables for 30$ a piece.

Sturdy and nice looking, all from a peddler's market.

Best place to shop for furniture.

- side note I use a rocking chair when i play games. :P

I was just thinking, "Hmmm, I don't have a sealed copy of Morrowind. Time to pick up another copy." :P

Also, i'll throw Morrowind up there as one of my greatest purchases ever.

Hmm, probably my platinum box set of Neon Genesis Evangelion. Computers get outdated too fast to really put any value on them, so my PC only comes in second.

I have two.

1) Generac XP8000e generator. 8000 running Watts 12000 starting. Runs 80% of my house for 12 hours on 9 gallons of gas. Has paid for itself more than once.

2) DS MACHINES DS-1600 Hot Air Circulator coal stove. Holds 120 pounds of nut anthracite coal in the burn chamber and an additional 40 in the Hopper. It is capable of delivering 130k BTU/hr. It does not require electricity. It Burns for 12+ hours on a single charge of coal and runs from late October till early May without ever being shut down. Keeps my house 80* all winter and has saved me thousands of dollars in oil. I haven't bought home heating oil in 2 years. My oil tank reads 0 and my furnace never runs. This has also paid for itself several times.

Either my first proper HD television, or, and yes, I have to go here . . . Morrowind. $50 for over a thousand hours of entertainment. I would have to say that was a pretty smart purchase. Also, it was my first real rpg.

Probably my copies of "The Handmaid's Tale" and "1984", seeing as I've read them so many times since I first bought them; but if I were in a sentimental mood I'd say my cat.

P.S. I'm not in a sentimental mood at all. Like last year she found a way to the ribbon and glitter so I'm facing God knows how long of looking forward to Christmas themed poo and puke.
