I have to wonder what was said on both sides.

I've had things left out of my order at fast food places (who hasn't). I've always gotten what I ordered when I pointed out the error, and usually some sort of free stuff for the inconvenience. That's what employees and managers are taught is in the best interests of the store...probably because that response is in fact in the best interests of the store.

So I can't imagine what the couple said that threw everyone in the store so off their game that they didn't just give them some hash browns and call it good.

I also can't imagine what was said to get someone to throw their food back. It is McDonald's food, but it's still bought and paid for after all.

There are always 2 sides to every story, this is true, but calling 911 and throwing your food at people over missing hash browns is just ridiculous. Especially the calling 911 part... lol.

Amazingly though, people calling 911 because their food order's are messed up is getting to be quite common, I see and hear stories about that all the time it seems..

Agreed. Throwing your food at someone who just said "take what you got and get out of here you fat ****, and take your fat wife with ya" seems far more likely. Not saying that something like that was said, but it seems plausible enough...though again I can't imagine what was said that could provoke a response like that either. Whole situation strikes me as 'small town goof balls seek attention of national media' with customers, staff, and cops all pretty much in on it from go. Probably see the whole lot of them on Jerry Springer.

Hey, those hash browns are actually pretty good. One of the few things I'd ever eat at McDonalds.

There must be something strange about McDonald's food. Every now and then you see one of these stories about someone acting bat[censored] because their food order was not entirely to their standards. Like that woman who physically assaulted the clerk at the drive-thru because they didn't have stock left of what she was ordering.

I've heard of at least one case of a pet doing something similar, when its owners changed its food brand, it turned on them so violently it had to be put down.

Not to imply that McDonald's food and pet food have something in common, but... :shifty:

Given the number of people who are just bat-**** crazy to begin with and the number of McDonald's shops it's not surprising that they intersect so often.

Well, it was likely they intended to harm him with the bag of food. Despite it being just, well, a bag of food.

Yeah it's kind of stupid.

No actually. It counts as battery. Threatening to throw the bag of food is assault.

"A bag of food counts as assault?"

Anything that is thrown and hits another person can be counted as assault, I doubt a bag of food would hold up as assault in court though. Unless it caused injury, of course.

If you were to flick your sweat on someone, for example, it would be considered an assault with bodily fluids (that has actually happened)... That is If your target wanted to press charges, of course.

In Finland at least, if I've understood out 112 (same as 911) law right, calling for no good reason is punishable with a large fine.

So, if someone here called in about missing brownies to 112... They'd be criminals.

It is the same in the U.S.

I know that people have even done a little jail time for pranking 911. Anytime that number is dialed police must respond to the source of the call so, understandably, they are not to happy when their time and resources are wasted on bull$#!t..

I'm guessing something like this was said right before the food started flying...and you're right, he isn't likely to faint from the loss.

While it's rare for me to go there, but McDonald's hash browns are one of only two things on their entire menu I find edible. The other being their hot cakes.

I think McDonald's has the superior chicken nugget, with the much higher priced and out of the way exception of KFC.

I can't eat anything from KFC. Only fast food that has digestible chicken nuggets for me is Wendy's.

Not being elitist or anything, just my stomach cannot handle 99% of fried foods.

Hmmmm...can't say I've tried Wendy's...off my normal beaten track even further than KFCs. Having been blessed with innards that could serve double duty if bolted to the bottom of a sink it figures the only fried food left untried is something that hasn't crossed my path.

I can see the point that he wanted his money's worth and not many people have $2 to throw out the window, but 911 was unnecessary. You could the desired result by [censored]ing in the line for 30 min. Eventually they will refund you or give you your hash brown after seeing that you won't give up.
