What languages do you want to learn?

Post » Mon Jun 25, 2012 10:52 am

Still, that description is fairly accurate for a pretty large part of European and American teenagers and young advlts that are learning Japanese, so you can't really blame them. Hadn't heard the term before though, censoring it seems a bit over the top to me.
I can blame whoever I want for whatever want.

So how about that assasination of Abraham Lincoln huh? YOUR FAULT S'WIT!

I'd like to learn Russian. Just because it's badass. I don't have any practical uses for it. I just really like the way it sound, which is badass.
A lot of that vadassery is the Eastern European/Russian accent

From what I've heard about Russian, the alphabet is a piece of cake compared to the grammar. I've been wanting to learn Russian myself for a few years now, but I won't bother. I have no practical use for it at all, so I'd probably forget half of it within months. Better to focus my attention on German, which sounds just as badass and is actually useful to me.

Not to mention much easier, as Dutch and German are pretty similar.

Cyrillic isn't that big of a deal, actually. I'm more worried about their grammar. It's intimidating.

Anyone who has me as a friend on Steam can see my name is already in Cyrillic anyways

Hey, if you can speak Japanese and/or you have a legitimate interest in their culture, that's fine.

The, ahem, people I was talking about are those who have a weird infatuation with stereotypical Japanese interests and behavior. :)
fair enough, I just get annoyed when people use that term because it's almost always used as an offensive word. At least that has been my experience. :)

I have nothing against people who fall under that stereotypical description of a [censored] but in my case I'm purely interested in the language. And I think that Japanese calligraphy is beautiful. :P

It's not that hard. If I was native English speaker, I would rather worry about correct pronunciation.

I am learning German as my high school laungage. It's really cool, but it is hard.

My sister speaks sign laungage, and it was so sweet because she went up to a deaf homeless person and they talked in sign laungage for a few minutes, and I could tell it brightened up his day to have a 12 year old girl care enough to sign to him and understand perfectly what he signed back.

Just keep away from me with the fake American Fake Russian Accent. God I hate it so much.

Tried learning German. Realized it was a waste of time. Already had to learn French through school.

I tend to interact with a lot of Germans online, so I'd like to learn that language one day.

Hmm.. I had to google search to find what that was. I heard the phrase "I am a Japanese man" in a show called Monster and thought it was funny when he was using it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9eMEQHnOeHM It starts at 4:30. In this episode the detective seems like he's behaving as a [censored].

I also want to learn sign language. I remember a deaf girl in a painting class I went to that had to use sign language with someone to translate to speech. She could paint really well.
I want to learn Latin too.
