what new shouts would you like to have

Post » Sun Nov 18, 2012 2:07 pm

Not a big fan of the shouts aspect of Skyrim and I rarely use them. Fus RO Dah, yeah, and the obligatory Dragon Rend and Flame and Sprint shouts in context with the game, but other than that, not really. Why? Few reasons. First, the selection is clunky and destroys immersion, so what's selected I'll maybe use. I've played through 6 times so far and am into my seventh play and I've yet to use (at all, ever) anything but what's been required. So, for me, the answer is, no new shouts, more new armor, magic, weapons, and baddies/areas/quests.

A rage shout that makes everyone in the entire game world become hostile towards absolutely everyone.

The shout's learnable words would be "Beth", "Esd" and "Da".

You've just made my hero list xD

First and foremost a Dragonborn Perk Tree (like the Vampire Lord and Werewolf trees) which would let you develop your shouts.

I'll definitely agree to Mist Call as a way to obscure you from enemies (has to work with other dragons too)
Shadowstep, a shout that was discussed early that places you behind your victims (would need a long cooldown)
Thunder Breath and Dragons to use it.
Magnus Draw, a shout which would essentially create a zone where magic cannot be cast (or cast into)

heres my list

meteor storm

tornado storm

mist call

All good ones.

Additional:
Since we can shout fire and ice, how about water? In fact, if we were close to a body of water, it would be cool to provoke some sort of tidal wave in the same way that we can shout storms up or down.
How about lightning?
Shouting a poison gas might be cool, too, and the opportunities for mocking Youtube vids would be colossal ;-)
Summoning atronachs with a shout might be cool. Might not, though.............that needs some thought.
How about a shout that neutralizes a dragon's breath? That would ROCK.
An EARTHQUAKE SHOUT. OOOOOOH, YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I better stop. I'm having too many wierd ideas....... ;-)

All the other ones are interesting, though the Tidal Wave one would be.... limited in its use, but Atronachs wouldn't really suit the idea of Dragon Shouts. Summoning is fine, but where Dragons are Aedric, Atronachs are Daedric quite literally diametrically opposed. Now I could see it if one of the DLCs were set in a Daedric Realm, in which case who knows what the Daedra would try experimenting on (not to mention the Aedric energies of a Dragon could probably be used to open a sustainable portal).

you know what shout i would like to see a dragon form shout that makes you transform into a dragonlike creature that gives you some Armour and a breathweapon.
or this one probably wont ever be in the game but it does sound cool, a shout that makes you fly so you can take the fight to the dragons an have a air combat sounds cool to me.
or just a shout that lets you jump verry high and far, a super jump shout.

Yo this is something I would love to see. A shout then when used creates a vortex of wind under the players feet and slightly levitates him into the air no more then two feet, then the character opens his arms to his side, looks t'words the sky, eyes rolling into the back of his head, the wind under his feet raging like a hurricane and pulling enemies to him but the screaming fears them at the same time. So the enemies are trying to flee from the enraged Dragonborn, as they see him levitating embracing his power and commanding the wind element, unable to resist the power being pulled helplessly. If the Dragonborn's shout reaches completion without being interrupted the wind vortex under him will complete channeling and release its power in a large gust of wind in all directions having all enemies caught within its wrath tossed away (Rag-dolling much like Fus Ro Dah and the range of the shout would be about as large as Firestorm)

Now some might say that would be a better spell then shout but I feel that would be a more amazing shout because most likely people playing there charecter as a warrior would use it because I assume most mages would not want to be immobile for such a duration(its already hard enough to cast the master level spells without using a paralyze spell first since you have to sit still and channel it, however paralyzing your enemy before using this shout could lead to comical results lol) also there is no wind magic so yah. That however is something I would love to see, it feels very Dragonborn- Powerful, elemental, scary, and fierce, all attributes of the Dragonborn if you ask me!

I would like the ability to combine certian word combintions. Something like Diablo II with Rune Words, you can make your own shout. Something different. How it would work, not sure, but I am sure Beth could figure something out.

That would be so cool. FUS WULD! ("Force Whirlwind") You blast away people whilst dashing forward. So epic!

Darkness. A shout that extinguishs all light sources temporarily, but doesn't stop Night Sight, Khajiit sight, or that illusion spell you get when doing the Master Illusion quest.
Yes... YES!!! Gods be praised, someone had the same idea I had
Doing so would act like and "instant invisibility" shout, 'cause it would force the enemies to search for you/shake in fear.
Also, my Dark Brotherhood assassin would like this one =)

You win simply for making a Majin Buu Reference lol DBZ FOR LIFE!...Could you imagine a combo between Buu and the Mad God...WOW...now that would be interesting lol.

BACK ON TOPIC!

A possession shout, as mentioned above would be AWESOME so would the badass vortex (although it is a little, Avatar the Last Airbender to me haha) the problem with the possession one is that it may screw up the faction system and codes of the possessed after you leave them. Unless you mean more like a mind control thing in which you take over their mind and can make them follow you or trade things with you or whatever. ooo that's a good idea

MIND CONTROL! :D You shout and your victim's will is bent to your own. You can make them follow you, or even take from their inventory. You can possess 3 people at once (one person per word) and it should have a very long cool-down time.

Mirage: Make 6 identical dragonborn illusions (2 per word) that confuse enemies making them attack them, leaving them open to your attacks (it could work cause one of the Gaulderson bosses uses it)

Dragon Rage: Dragonborn (1st word) takes 20% less damage but deals 10% more, (2nd word) Dragonborn Takes 50% less damage but deals 25% more (3rd word) Dragonborn takes 80% less damage but deals 40% more (the problem I foresee with this is when mixed with Orc beserking it could make the player WAY too powerful.

ummm I'm out for now haha.

Am I the only one staring at this thread, scratching my head at the fact that OP simply said "mist call" and never even bothered to explain the mechanics of it or what it does, yet everyone says "omg that'd be amazing?"

No, I was confused by it too.

I figure it's the reverse of Clear Skies, and creates a layer of fog on the ground to help you sneak by things. Of course, I'm not sure if fog plays into the AI's visibility at all, or if it just encumbers the player.
