What Now? - Need More Stuff To Watch

Post » Sun May 13, 2012 9:17 pm

So the Missus made me sit through all of "Lost" and that kept us going for a while.

More recently we went through the entire new "Battlestar Galactica", "Rome", "Spartacus: The Blood & the Sand" (some comedy to offset the drama), "Game of Thrones" and most recently all of "The Shield".

We're getting to the end of "The Shield" soon and we're gonna need a new series to gobble up.

Preferably something good.

Any recommendations?

Cheers

I'd go with the original BSG, personally. If you haven't seen its 26 episodes, I highly recommend it.

inb4 Teehee recommends Mad Men or Boardwalk Empire.

The Walking Dead? House?

I really recommend the series "Breaking Bad." It has won lots of Grammy's and is incredibly enthralling.

The Wire - Seriously good crime drama focusing on drugs in lower-class America. Incredibly well-written and acted; probably one of the best series ever made.

Firefly - The best sci-fi series going. Unfortunately, only 14 episodes (and one movie) long.

My Little Pony: Friendship---

Okay okay I was half joking

But really, I like Ghost Adventures on the Travel Channel. It is quite entertaining to watch.

New season March 9th, as a matter of fact.

If you like cheesy rubbish, go with this. If you have a brain, please don't watch the original BSG. The modern one is so much better.

Battle Star Galactica iirc.

I'm not a big enough nerd to be in to any of that though. :P

I wouldn't call it cheesy rubbish at all. I actually enjoyed it a lot more than the new series

If this was Homer's "Odyssey" someone would be asking "How dare you let such talk escape the barrier of your teeth"? (though they'd do so in iambic pentametre).

The original BSG is not only amazing if you've seen it then you know that the "re-imagined" BSG was not re-imagined at all but a straight continuation.. All of these things have happened before and all of these things shall happen again.

Tempted by "Sons of Anarchy". Will have to see if we can pick it up at a decent price.

"Boardwalk Empire" is another possibility. Don't know much about "Firefly" but will definately check it out.

Keep the suggestions coming!

Cheers

Is "The Pacific" made by the same Team that made "Band of Brothers"?

Is it anywhere near as good?

Yea and nearly. They tried to do a tougher subject which was the atrocity of war and the affects it can have on the human psyche, a little more difficult of a topic I think.Still amazing though, after all it's Spielberg, Hanks, and WWII what could go wrong?

If you can stand a bit of cheese, Once Upon a Time, by the creators of Lost, is a great show on air right now.

Agree with others about Firefly.

P.S. If you're looking for a comedy, Arrested Development and How I Met Your Mother are the way to go. Plus, there are rumors of a new AD season coming "soon".

The trailer to that looked really good.

Let's hope they know where they're going this time.

Doubt it. :P

Part of me wishes the show will only last three or four seasons, it would indeed be sad to see it go the same way as Lost.
