What Path of Immortality do You Prefer

Post » Tue Aug 07, 2012 2:22 pm

Hello Friends, just curious about what types of the forms of immortality appeal to other players, my favorite is the lich, since i roleplay necromancer/sorcerers it appeals to me the most. (cant wait for the lichdom mod :P )

One with no change would be ideal, so I voted that. But in game, I chose werewolf.

I'm pretty sure lycans aren't immortal, just really strong. They eventually die and go to Hircine's Hunting Grounds.

i dont think so they are immortal from my knowledge of lore, but they are not invulnerable, im sure their kinda like vamps when they become elders over very long periods of time they dont essentially die, but do take on an older visage

Can werewolves die of old age?

This is unknown, but it is suspected that they can.
They are immune to disease and have rapid healing though.

However, as another poster on another thread recently said: If werewolves have an extended lifespan, I would expect many of them to die young anyway, due to the mindless bloodlust that accompanies a forced lunar transformation.
Many will simply be hunted down and killed.

Werewolves can die from age.
Spoiler
Look at Kodlak.

Werewolf hands down. Tried vamp...not a magic type...and being normal is kinda boring.

i regret to inform that i have not finished the werewolf quests, i only played around with the werewolf and liked it but, didnt appeal to me since im a necromancer/sorcerer and vamps i find a little bit of a cliche, im much more into dark arts, and achieving lichdom appeals to my player type more than anything else in game.

Each to their own. My sis is a mage but she refuses to be anything but a normal human mage even though being a vampire helps some.

I don't think werecreatures are immortal. Kodlak seems like he's getting old and weak and he doesn't seem to have lived longer than the average nord.

i agree, but being a vampire has drawbacks, same as werewolf, vamps need to feed to blend in public, and take sun damage, inconvenient, not sure bout werewolf drawbacks as i havent really experimented, i think u uncontrollably transform or something on some nights, liches traditional ones dont have any drawbacks other than being a skeletal robed corpse, with magical properties over the undead, they require no sustinance, basically their only drawback is their appearance, but through powerful illusion spells they could cloak themselves to blend in to complete quests, but actually living in a city or town would be ridiculous, there more reclusive in nature.

He mantles Akatosh, he became Akatosh like how someone mantle Sheogorath in SI and Talos mantles Lorkhan.

Nervar got the best deal if you ask me, immortal and immune to disease but not immune to death (he can still die) unless your a god living forever can damage your sanity

Proper wolves are supposed to transform during the full moon (a number of people will carry Hircine's curse ring for the random transformations). Only major drawback is your health doesn't regen very quick unless you feed. Stack enchantments and powers, there isn't anything I haven't been able to take on (Master difficulty to boot).
If I was magic oriented it'd be a toss up between lich and vampire. More than likely lich since they aren't bad with sunlight and they probably don't have to play with Molag Bal after they die...

Immortality would svck after a few hundred years...

Aye, this is great, and I chose Vampire and Corprus, but the general outcome of Corprus is that you turn into a demented, hideous monster. If Divayth Fyr hadn't cured the Nerevarine, the assumption is that he/she would have turned into another of these semi-immortal beasts.

I like vampirism in TES, but don't really like the undead tag. Vampirism would be my choice if it really was just a disease that affected humanoids who were alive, or if it was it's own self contained race, and not an undead.
