so, what's planned for patch 1.5?

Post » Tue May 22, 2012 12:51 am

i wonder if the next patch will contain some code to retroactively fix bugged quests/mechanics that were fixed in 1.4?

examples: blood on the ice, thane of riften, bookshelves, missing/popping textures, etc.

They need to bring my textures back.. and for that matter color and saturation. It's like everything from people, landscape, buildings is MEGA degrading and never UPgrading itself to what it SHOULD look like.

ALSO, I've tried playing off just the disc and off the HDD. Both are the exact same.. no difference, no improvement.

I've tried recaching 3 times now, and tried off the disc twice. Nothing seems to remedy it this time... and I fear it may just get worse. Done playing for awhile until they say something.

Personally, I'd like to see them fix the glitch at High Hrothgar that breaks the game.

I saw blood on the snow. So this is a bug?

Well that doesn't explain anything. I have no idea what you are talking about.

I'd really like them to fix the Companions Purity bug which makes you unable to have a follower (and thus unable to complete some quests) or cure your lycanthropy.

id like them to fix ALL the broken stuff, so i can just play the game without wondering,"Gee should i pick up this shovel?...will it get stuck in my inventory?...will it break a quest that might require a shovel?"

During the Horn of Jurgen quest, you return the Hrothgar and are told to get the final word from Wulfgar for unrelenting force. Wulfgar doesn't speak, he bows over and over and you don't get the word or move on to next quest.

i want to marry Lydia too! and i want all of the other bugs mentioned in this thread fixed. i also encountered a bug where the 'visit your new home, proudmire manor, in solitude' quest doesn't get removed from the list after you've visited the manor. there is also a quest breaking bug related to the stormcloak storming solitude quest (the last phase of the civil war) where if you are arrested before you meet Ulfric at the gates, the quest is bugged so that you can't finish it and therefore can't ever enter solitude.

on my copy/save of skyrim on the 360 i have encountered 3 bugs thus far :-

1: Kill the Hagraven Petra miscellanious/sidequest was bugged from the start i killed petra and when i went to search the corpse for the eye it was empty spare 2 feathers and a claw then after the 1.4 patch i went back after seeing that my thanedome in rifton was fixed (i could actually speak to the jarl and get my thaneship) the hagraven that gave me the quest is now also dead next to petra

2: investigate the bards college - after i activated this quest and did the bonfire thing the head of the bard's college (who supisciously looks like sheogorath in oblivion pmsl) is still walking around holding his torch (even during the day) and keeps repeating the stuff from the burning of olaf festival

3: WTF where is my Volsung Mask? it disspeared from my inventory after the diplomatic immunity quest and has totally dissapeared even worse if by some Uber slim chance it is still in the chest at the embassy i cannot gain entry to retrieve it anyway this is driving me insane as i only need the labarynthian masks to complete the collection and get the ultimate helmet which is most unfortunate as i have just arrived at the conjoining mages guild quest that it pertains to

I fail to see how some peoplle can be having degraded graphics, etc on a console, while others dont have any problem. The hardware is basically the same across the board. Yes, the xbox slim has slightly different cpu/gpu architecture, the coding and processing for it remain the same. Perhaps some people have corrupt files on their hard drive or bad blocks on it. If that is the case, try a new hard drive.

I've been thinking about it, but I know FOR A FACT 1.4 created my problems. Until 1.5 comes out.. (and fixes textures ONCE AND FOR ALL, hopefully), then I'm not going to go waste money on a new HDD to find out nothing was wrong with mine.

You know, I don't care too much about this patch, because by the time it gets out I probably won't be playing the game anymore. Instead I'll be waiting until next Christmas when the game is actually finished and tested.

However, I'll take a look at the fixes, and I tell you one thing, if it doesn't solve the Louis Letrush bug, the Nirnroot glow and the save file size related lock ups... it's going to be abysmal. You guys can yell as hard as you want that you'd like to marry this or that, as if that required any sort of urgency, but what Bethesda should be focusing on exclusively are problems that prevent people from playing their game. Anything else, like the damned weapon racks from 1.4, can wait three hundred years unfixed if that means we get the important stuff ready.

Preach on brotha, preach! I basically got my weapon racks/bookshelves back.. at the cost of my high res textures. Something happened in my HDD maybe when it updated and it Fd something up badly..

Gonna see how much GS will take this HDD for XD

i too have had problems with textures popping in and mostly out since the 1.4 patch. i hope they fix this in 1.5 because the game's beauty (mid to long distance views) took a big dive.

the nirnroot glows are also a problem, and on a minor note there are river flow graphics that are bugged to where the rivers flow from shore to shore instead of downstream.

i have also experienced problems with the bookshelf graphics 'missing', but the books are there suspended in mid-air. reloading the save game usually fixes it... but we shouldn't have to wait through two loads (entering the house and then reloading the save game) just to see the entire bookshelf graphic.

there are also quite a few areas with collision issues that trap your character when moving across highly textured areas (such as climbing rocks, going into waterfalls to find chests, etc.). often the only way out of the trap is to reload a previous save (thereby losing all progress) since the game mechanics think the character is 'in motion' and won't allow fast traveling.

also, a better game map with roads noted.

console folks are at the mercy of the devs, since we can't use mods to enhance/fix the base game.

don't get me wrong, i do enjoy the game, but the game breaking bugs and sub-optimal graphics performance takes the shine off.

***: NOTED

I have just seen a visual glitch with Markarth's water. The stream is frantically trying to stay together all as one solid flowing texture, but it can't. And if you move the camera certain ways the water actually leaps up in the air.

What
the
BLEEP!

And just when I thought Markarth looked terrible lowres, it just got worse!

I hope they fix the dissappearing partners bugs in Alduin's Wall, seeing as this is a quest from the main story line, I'm assuming it should have a higher priority rather than fixing misc things that don't really bother anyone as they have done before for every single patch.
