What should I do...

Sorry to say this. If all you describe is true, leave your family. Find a friend at least who would take you in. Your family is the main reason you cannot find a job. No boss would hire a guy he cannot contact with or with a bad haircut. It tells how lousy you are and how unable you are to manage your life. You have a problem family, your stepdad just wants you gone, your mom is a slave to him. I may sound harsh but they are the root of your trouble to be honest.

+1  For having the balls to tell it like it is. That's what I was going to say originally but I'm afraid I lack said balls :/

WTF? You sleep on the floor and your parents won't pay for a haircut? What the he'll is wrong with your parents? Your step-dad is a dike and needs to be kicked in it and your mother needs to stand up for you.

Neither of your [censored] parents can expect you to get a job if you are unkempt. I'm a step-father myself and I'm hard on my step-son but I give him everything he needs when he needs it. Jesus. I feel like half the people on these boards have incredibly abusive relationships with their parents. I'd never take my step-son's furniture or refuse to take him to get his hair cut. I'd also never demand he pays me back for stuff. That's just poor parenting. Both your parents need to be slapped.

Well, I'm about to go donate plasma to get $50 for a haircut. Should help at least slightly in getting employed, dunno what to do about the phone thing though, especially since $14 of it will have to go to my stepdad... then another $14 for this week's piss test, but it's better than nothing I suppose.

Find a friend that you can move in with, on from highschool. Or maybe an Aunty or Uncle? I know you don't want to hurt your parents but the way they are treating you is disgusting.

I would grab a bunch of things and money and leave. Find a homeless shelter in a nearby town and work from there. At least they hook you up with a bed and you don't rack up a $14 debt per week over unnecessary piss tests - you can do all the drugs you want!

That made me thing, why does he need $14 pee tests, if he's really that poor he has to sleep on the floor, has no mobile, can't get a hair cut, and can't afford the tests himself, where is he going to get the money for drugs.
I think this because I've seen more junkies that have plenty of money to feed the habit and keep those fundamentals.

Though if you are using whatever drugs, I'd probably kick that habit if you are serious about getting a job and moving up in the world ;)

I don't think they are trying to monitor whether or not he is taking drugs I think he might have a health condition that they are keeping track of via piss. Though that's unlikely I think it is more unlikely that he is taking drugs without having money to purchase said drugs. His parents are weird.

No, I was packing a bowl of my friend's weed a year ago in a deserted alleyway. Cop shows up, long story short I have to go to a bunch of classes and stuff. I think it's all taken care of.

A year later, police show up to my college, take me out of class, I get thrown in jail, government steals the last of my financial aid and tells me I owe another $850 in addition to $14/week for two more months. Turns out that I didn't pay a fine which was supposed to be mailed to me, but never was. Try to explain this to the cops, get the typical "you're just a junkie criminal so we don't care what you have to say" treatment. Gotta love being in the good ol' US of A.

I dunno. I once explained to a friend that I was considering joining the military because I'm clueless and don't know what to do with my life, and would rather just have someone else tell me what to do.

"Tell that to your recruiter, you're just what he's been looking for his whole life!"

See now that's silly.
So the goverment have you taking these tests or your parents, if the goverment is they should be paying for if they want it done, likewise with said parents. I would have taken who ever to court for touching my money when I never recieved a letter, probably sue the postal service too. Nahh I don't love them, they killed the Indians "oahoahoahoahoahoahaohaoah!!!" *Galops off into the sunset*

The government charges me for my involuntary urine tests.

Of course, they say that the tests actually are voluntary, and technically speaking they are; I could instead go to jail, have a felony on my record, and there are three (that's right, 3) apartment complexes in my entire state that accept felons. So it's my "choice" so they say that it gives them the right to make me pay for them.

I compare it to putting a gun to someone's head and saying "Let me [censored] you, or die" "No, please don't kill me!" "Oh, so you agree with this six then. Cool, totally consensual."

Or if he is physically and mentally prepared for the training and excerise, not to mention the fact he may actually need to kill someone or he could be killed himself. Some people just don't realise what they signed up for when it comes to firing a gun at a real life target.
Put it this way: A child with a bomb attached to them is sprinting towards you, you can see that it is armed, what is your reaction?
Chances are if you haven't decided to shoot within 2 seconds of seeing the kid your probably dead or maned.
If you did shoot and saved your life, and a comrade, how do you feel that you shot the kid?
Just a scenario you have to consider and be ready for.

Ignoring the extreme gun scenario, whats so bad about peeing in a tube anyway?
Honestly I'd lol at the fact someone is playing with my piss, maybe hit the side of the tubs for the hell of it then they need to touch it?
Unless you are tempted to do drugs again when you get off the tests, thats a no no :nono:

I've no clue how it is to live like you do, but I know how it feels to go through the BS of the court system and drug testing. It really is bull, man, I feel for you. How long until they take you off of piss testing? Not to toot my own horn, but I was one of the quickest cases closed when I was in drug court, mostly due to my cool therapist. :)
Maybe you can try and bum some furniture off your neighbors or craigslist or something, just try and get something other than the floor to sleep on. That's all the advice I have.

The problem is it's 1)costing him $14/week, bleeding him dry of any funds he may acquire otherwise, 2)out of the way - I doubt he does these tests at home, it's usually at a facilitiy - so he has less time to look for a job and 3)demeaning. I mean come on, some guy watches you pee.

No one I ever know has quit smoking weed because another human(s) stole their money, and temporarily FORCED them to quit. That doesn't make anyone want to actually quit. It instead makes them angry at the aggressors, and they'll usually start again just out of spite. I've not known a single person who went through this program, and quit weed after they got out. It's quite the opposite, with the user saying "I can't wait to get off, so I can smoke weed again." The enforcers of the law know this; statistically anolyzing prohibition shows a roughly 0% success rate, yet they continue. It's just stealing. A way for the government to make money. I hate to sound like a hippie, but it's true.

Yes, I'll continue with the usage after I get off of my drug tests. Just because someone else has wronged me for it, is not a reason for me to quit. That just makes them [censored]s. Since I've already made an extreme example, I'll throw out another one: this is like arresting people for mastvrbating, forcing them to not do it for three months, and then expecting it to make them not mastvrbate behind closed doors when no one is watching. Yes, very effective.

Oh yeah, I forgot about the lack of funds and the possible need to travel. But someone watching me pee would be a chance to rip on them for being the creepy gay guy watching me fill a tube "Was that big enou...Imean was it long enou....You know, is there enough of my piss in that tube your holding?"

Its not stealing, it's taking the funds that you would otherwise waste on illegal drugs instead of putting it towards bettering yourself. Its prevented you from being a bit of scum for a while to let you get out there but nahhh who cares cause

You think because no one else bother to clean themselves up after the program that you don't need to either but yet you think life is being tough on you
Since you're just going to keep buying piss drugs and wasting your time I'm not gonna bother caring or wasting my time now

You just need to play the game, whether you like it or not. The way you got busted svcks, but you still got busted, and have to deal with the consequences - however dramatic they may be!

People who smoke weed are scum? How out of touch are you. I also doubt his priorities are so out of whack that he'd spend his few dollars on weed over a haircut or saving up for a bed.

Dude, are your parents keeping you away from mirrors and scissors? If not, cut your own effin' hair. You have no money. You need to start being frugal, not wastefully doing completely without.
@Hunter: I feel that, on the rare ocassion that I'm able to get an interview, I should try to look as not pathetic as possible lol.
That's 100% the wrong attitude to have if you want to get hired. Judge your interviewer. If they're a hard-ass, look like a bootsrtrapper. If they're a softee, be pathetic. Pathetic people get sympathy jobs.

@NHsports: College starts in 7 days for me, but last semester it didn't really help. It's not a good environment to make friends, especially if I'm broke and don't have a phone, etc. Everyone there pretty much still hangs out with the same old groups and cliques as they did in high school... None of my HS friends made it to college haha.
Being in college isn't what gets you jobs. The real benefits come when you graduate. In the meantime, seek out other losers. Find a kid who sulks around and never talks with anyone. Even if he doesn't like you, or want to spend time with you, he'll have no reasonable excuse to get away without being rude, so your chances of success are much higher. You don't need to actually be compatible with a person to get a leg up from them.
