And.....

Me:"So,are you going to tell me your real name?"
Sapphire:"Look,I don't really know you ...."
Me:Then why are you in MY guild all the time?
"Hmm" would an improvement in her dialogue, too bad she escaped those bandits....

During the open scene when you're on the chopping block. Alduin flys into view, Tullis shouts "what in oblivion!?!" and then the Imperial Captain says

"Guards, what do you see?"

That's got to be the worst voice acting I've ever heard.

i don't like the proposal dialogue. no real "proposal". just "i like you" you reply yes, "we're getting married". that's it.
I used to be an adventurer like you....I can't even bring myself to finish it.
I used to be an adventurer like you... but then i took an arrow to the knee... i love this line. best in the game. hilarious

Anything the Augur of Dunlain says. Not necessarily the content, just the deliver. It's... just... so... slow... and... you... can... never... skip... it...

I'm always baffled at that. Can she not turn her head around to see what's going on when Tullius is screaming? Some responsible captain she is.

"Let me guess. Someone stole your sweetroll."

Let's look at that line for a moment. First of of all, what?! It has no context whatsoever. Your character never goes around whining to the guards for redress of grievances or protection--never. Second, even if that weren't the case, how does it make any sense for some lowly guard to be taunting the godlike Dragonborn in such an infantile way? This line, more than any other, gets under my skin.

Honorable mention: the bratty girl's dialog in Whiterun. I sprint into her every time she starts to open her mouth. Shuts her up every time.

some people call this junk, me, blah blah blah yadda yadda....

Really, anything I have to hear 5 bazillion times in order to advance my game.
Eh, I like to hear the tone the different voice actors give it. Belethor for example makes it sound creepy (in a sixual way), Niranye from Windhelm on the other hand does a very good job with it imo.

Agreed. Not to mention the meaningbehind the lines ... I mean, can't you spot that 10 meter long lizard on the nearest and best visible watchtower?!

Anyway, the "someone stole your sweetroll" one is pretty annoying as well. There's no running up to it, and the way they say it makes you want to bash their heads in. Even if it might be a reference to a former Bethesda game.

The 1st time I heard him say "take a look" I felt like he just unzipped his pants.

Now I can't get that image out of my head.

I hope Bethesda is transmitting these impressions to the actors, and that they're laughing their asses off.

Its the speed of information that baffles me. It seems that everyone knows my business in every town. "I heard you were at the wedding in Solitude...." Really? That wasn't me..... "Pssst. Hey, I know who you are. Hail Sithis". Really? Is there a sign on my forehead? I'm not even wearing the DB gear.

But the best line I heard last night in Riften between Haelga and Maven in reference to a shippment being received:

Haelga: "I can't wait to try it out".
Maven: "A leather harness? What are you doing with that?"
Haelga: "Its a religious thing."

well I'm bothered that all the Jarls look the same (the men) and have the same voices, slouch, etc. Basically its a copy and paste deal.

"NO ONE CAN BEST AN ORC!!!!! "(one hit death)

The epic slowness of all the daedric quests talk. ok go do this... wait there is more useless babble?

brew me an ale
conjure me a bed
enchant this dull sowrd
I once was an adventurer like you
what if I'm the dragon born
back off citizen you don't belong here

Anything the Thalmor say gets them killed

if he talks to me like that again, I'll poison his mead (as the guy is right beside him)

(bandit takes an arrow in the back) WHAT WAS THAT???? Hmm must've been my imagination.

and the fact that Bethesda said that they had tons of actors for voicing and nearly everyone sounds the same. You have a few people who are unique but you do not interact with those people for too long in the game.

Heh, the city guards have that problem. All say the same lines to you, the only thing that changes is their gender and voice.

"NO ONE CAN BEST AN ORC!!!!! "(one hit death)

A fun one that I get often is "True Nords never back down!" followed by "We are routed! Fall back!" :P

The sweetroll thing, it's a easter egg out of context in the game. It just does'nt work in the game or make sense, in the attitude, anything.
At what point has anyone asked the guards to handle stolen sweetrolls? Never, probabely.

In Fallout 3 someone tries to steal your sweetroll present at your birthday party and you go to a friendly security guard to deal with it. You're 10, so fair enough.
It's also a reference to earlier bethesda things. They have a sweetroll obsession.

When it comes to pure dialogue (not one-liners or comments), much of the Thieves' Guild questline annoyed me. I like to be able to at least choose between two different wys of saying basically the same thing - now it feels like they put words in the mouth of my character that doesn't fit her at all. (At some point I had to say something that implied that I knew nothing of magic and powers, I'm a thief, which is a pretty weird line for a thu'um-using Dragonborn who might very well be a mage as well, as far as the writers know.)

I agree.
I remember that line. It forces you to make out you, the Shouting, magic using, dragon soul absorbing, Dovahkin, have no idea about powers or magic.
Then Karliah the stupid biatch starts condecending to you for AGES! in the most sickening way possible.

This has to be the worst one for me as well...

Ok, great. You're one of the faithful of the Dread Father... then why the [censored] are you pointing out/calling out a Dark Brother on a busy market street?!?

Would've been much better if they used their "guardly authority" to returns a note that I "dropped". The note could say that you support me, the Listener. That would be discreet. It would project an aura of normalcy. But since you decided to whisper it loudly as six people walk by, you're going to have to die...

Oh no! This is my favorite! I love the way some of the voice actors make this into a little song!

I often find myself singing it during the day (okay, usually under my breath)

"Killlll him, he talks to me like that again... kill him while he's sleeping...."

Oh yeah.

I find it a bit odd when your fences say, "Usual guild rate." in front Mjoll as my follower. I'm always like: "Shh, shh...not in front of the straight." :P

The proposal dialogue. It makes me want to vomit.

I agree, it's so stiff and emotionless. As if the Dragonborn was making a ****ing appointment.

And why, oh why, can't we at least give our soon-to-be-spouses a hug and a simple kiss! We're supposed to be in love! A little animated kiss at the end of the wedding ceremony - surely no one could find that offensive? You DO kiss each other at weddings in US too, don't you?

I was doing the last part of the book of love quest for the temple of mara in riften , when you get a amulet of mara, i had already talked to the other priest about marriage, and i was wearing the amulet so every npc i talked to was asking if i was interested
At one moment when i closed the conversation that npc responded with

Bah you not so good looking as you believe you are

I went like. WHAT????

It's a cultural thing. Slow motion animation of a double axed beheading is OK. Shoving aside a bloodied human skull to get loot out of a chest is cool. Asasination, human sacrifice, and cannibalism are legitimate quest objectives. But kissing would be gross.

No, seriously--we do kiss at weddings.
