What's the worst line of dialouge in the game?

Post » Thu Jun 07, 2012 10:35 am

they could at least have a simple hug or kiss animation. like chairs. if you're in 1st person, you switch to third, perform the animation, back to 1st. is that too hard for bethesda?

It's a cultural thing. Slow motion animation of a double axed beheading is OK. Shoving aside a bloodied human skull to get loot out of a chest is cool. Asasination, human sacrifice, and cannibalism are legitimate quest objectives. But kissing would be gross.

No, seriously--we do kiss at weddings.

Most of the idle Bandit stuff. Actually, I'm cut 50/50 on those.

But my least favorite is the one where they say something along the lines of "He had a pair of fours, fool never saw me pull an Ace out of my boot" or something like that.

My favorite is everything Hermaeus Mora says:
"COUME CLOSHERRRRR...BASHK IN MIE PRESHENCHEEEEE...."

All of that is true. In the US we tend to censor six more than violence in our popular media. Hopefully a mod won't edit/delete this post at least until you get a chance to read it.

and then the Imperial Captain says

"Guards, what do you see?"

That's got to be the worst voice acting I've ever heard.

Not to mention that what with the Silver-bloods and the Forsworn, it's hardly safe....

Yeah, I know. Still, in this case we're talking about the kind of kisses and hugs people would do in church :) so I guess the reason why it's not included hasn't got anything to do with censoring. More likely the devs just didn't find it necessary. But I would rather have a kiss at my wedding and be able to hug my spouse every once in a while, than have a zillion new kill cams.

i have one that happened today:
i fast-travelled to Falkreath so i could start "Ill Met By Moonlight" (Hircine's Daedric Quest) for the Ring of Hircine and Saviour's Hide
anyyway, i have been planning to switch to archery. a dragon attacked, so i decided to start using archery properly for the first time. i did a lot better than i expected (started with 100 arrows, finished with 64). anyway, there was an epic battle with the guards, Lydia and me (normally i used Aela, but i just "purchased" breezehome, and made her stay there. dunno why). at one point, near the end, i was sniping the dragon, while a guard was slashing it's face, and the guard killed it. i ran over, the guards close behind. i absorbed the soul, a guard commented on me absorbing the soul, and then silence. guess what broke the silence?

"My cousin's out fighting Dragons, While i'm stuck on guard duty..."

i don't hate the line, i just thought that the timing was perfect yet absolutely stupid at the same time
PS: (spoiler! may wreck info of Ill Met By Moonlight (Hircine's quest))
[spoiler] if you get the Savior's Hide, i suggest giving it to Aela.
Keep the Ring for yourself, followers don't use beast mode
if you get both (kill the hunters, leave the grotto to get the Ring, then go back and kill Sinding (he didn't fight back, tested with player in beast form(might've been due to my terrifying howls) to get the Hide), either use both, or give the Hide to a pretty female follower.

I hated the Imperial Guard Captain in Helgen yelling "Sentries! What are you seeing?" When Alduin had already landed on the watch tower right in front of her.

It's not the dialog itself, but the way it's read. If you happen to know what quest that guy just completed for all of that dialog to trigger, then yes, some of the dialog is REALLY stupid (specifically the "my wife is dead. DEAD!" guy).
Other than that, the "oh so you're interested in my potions and ingredients?" or "oh so you're an alchemist then?" lines are pretty dumb. That's like if I were to go to the super market, say I want a flat-screen TV and then the seller either says "Oh so you're interested in my TVs then?" (no [censored] [censored], you little [censored]) or "Oh so you're an electrician then?" (tf?)

''Oh no no no this is so wrong'' sounds really sarcastic. Like the person does not even care that a woman got murdered (pancaked by a gargoyle in my case) on her wedding.

The things Hadvar (or Ralof) says once you've escaped Helgen. Made me extremely confused on my first playthrough. I was like: Make up your mind! You want me to follow or not?

Perhaps the most infamous line in Skyrim, "I used to be an adventurer like you, until I took an arrow to the knee.". Really, just like me? You killed dragons, single handedly cleared out ruins filled with bandits and the undead, and helped turn the tide of a civil war? Please, do go on....

Well, at least he doesn't claim to have wiped out a sanctuary full of Sithis-worshipping assassins. Cuz he was, you know, sick that day. :P

The little girl you rescue from the Temple of Dibella. "Eek! a dead body!!"

Kid, those were the people who had just LOCKED YOU UP AND WERE GOING TO DO HORRIBLE THINGS TO YOU, SO GIVE IT A REST.

Oh, and Brelyana, whining about having to go and get some stupid staff.

A lot of mixed feelings with Babette. I havn't played the Dark Brotherhood questline yet, but some people say shes awesome and that she isn't annoying in any way.

It doesn't really fit well with me. A 300 year old child that works with the Dark Brotherhood and is also a Vampire... I have pet peeves with characters like that, I think Yandere (Cute outside, evil/psychotic inside) characters have no redeeming qualities whatsoever.

Believe them and me, she's awesome. She is not at all annoying, nothing like the obnoxious brats in the rest of the game.

she's my friend's favourite character. he said that his second choice for marriage would be Aela, and he said that his first choice wasn't possible. i asked him why... it's Babette. so, i wrote this:

PRID 0001D4BC
addfac 19809
player.setrelationshiprank 4
# you can now marry Babette... not weird at all
i made that .txt as a joke to 'prove' him wrong. check out my sg, should i include it in my ".batPack"? (perhaps also an Alduin version?)
