What Unique Thing has Made You Smile?

Post » Thu May 10, 2012 6:12 pm

Besides the first opening of the game one of the first things that really made me smile was when I was fighting a pack of witches and after the first one nearly succumbed to my attacks she fell over and as she was about to get up I sunk an arrow in her back and then she completely collapsed to the ground... dead.

What unique event or discovery has made you smile?

For me it must be when I used the frenzy spell on a mage, and he ran up to his friend and froze him solid. Then he just ran in circles until his friend got loose and they started casting fireballs at eachother. It all ended with them standing about 30 feet away from eachother and casting a fireball at the exact same time, and they died simultaneously falling down the steep sides of the mountain they had been fighting on :D

For me, as an old Morrowind player, it's mainly the many Morrowind references. The Wreck of The Pride of Tel Vos, the New Gnisis Cornerclub, to name two. Up near the Winterhold area the roads are marked with the same piled rocks they used in the Ashlands. And of course I smile whenever I hear that Morrowind exploring music.

I also smiled when I was playing tag with a small boy in Windhelm. ;)

Not really unique, but walking to Whiterun the first and seeing guards escorting a prisoner and getting a little revenge for trying to chop my head.

useing the unrelenting force(think its that one, the one that blasts them back) on a bandit on the edge of a cliff so fun to see them go flying off the end :)

Oddly reminiscent of Zelda...

During a barfight, I heard some spectators placing bets on me.

I love the animations for the white-water, and the fact that the rivers have a real current that can carry your character or NPCs or even dead bodies away.

I fast traveled to one of those farms just outside Whiterun, and suddenly I heard a dragon attack from just above me and ran for cover in that guard tower (this was not the first dragon, but a later one).

Just as I fled past a Whiterun guard in the doorway he starts talking to me, that old line about how bored he is about just dealing with bandits, and if only they had some dragons to fight.

That made me smile. :celebrate:

Oh, and all those nords saying they might be Dragonborn. Silly, silly them.

I spoke to a guard in Whiterun and he told me to basically piss off, but as I walked away he said in his sincerest voice, "Safe travels". Made me feel warm inside.

Haha I killed a chicken real early in the game too. I was going to see if I could pick it up like with salmon while I somehow had my Dunmer's ancestral flames activated.

Jumped off a high place into a lake.
A ghost appeared and congratulated me on surviving the jump. He had not been so lucky.

Killing a bandit and fus-ro-dah his body into the river while the body floated away was fantastic.

Falling into the river and getting pulled into the whitewater rapids, then getting thrown around, pushed underwater or thrown against rocks, and just the general mayhem. It felt very realistic - what a ride! That was hilarious!

''LYDIA, FALL BACK! WE DO NOT HOLD OUR GROUND AND ENGAGE GIANTS HEA,-''

*BOINK*

*Giant smacks Lidya up into orbit*

Amidst the facepalm, I couldn't help but chuckle as Lydia was punted into outer space by the giant, doing a barrel roll as she ascended up into the atmosphere.

hrmm lydia was worthless to me. I had this bloke named sven who had all my gear so I transferred it over to lydia and the [censored] gets killed once and doesn't respawn. I had to travel all the way back to get sven to transfer all my stuff over to him again.

sven eventually disappeared with all my stuff.

I have a new bloke now. fingers crossed
