What was your favorite part of the DLC?

Post » Tue Nov 20, 2012 9:45 am

I have 2 things I really liked about it:

*************SPOILER*******1: I was shocked when I saw a Snow Elf, because obviosly on the loading screen it tells you that the Falmer were once known as the Snow Elf. It was cool to see what the race used to look like. Also there was a cool twist, they are brothers and one is Eevil and one is good. I find it very interesting.

2: I also loved how they really outstanded vampirism. Before it, it was just plain and to the point. Now there is a wahole quest line for it.

Edit- 3: Hellhounds. Idk why but that was very awesome to see, in my opinion.

What are your favorite things for the DLC?

The Vampire Lord as the True Vampires.

I love what they've done for the Vampires!

Confronting Vyrthur. It was the most epic moment I had in my entire Skyrim experience. All of those frozen Falmer ambushing you, I literally slowed time and used Fire Storm, all of the fire bursting all around me while the building was crumbling above us. It was like two powerful forces clashing, one being Vyrthur's power and then mine. Vyrthur's power of ice and mine of fire. And then have the building suddenly explode. It honestly felt like a movie.

There is so many things that i really loved,When the moth priest got blind and you got to read the elder scroll yourself at that cute place. Making the butterflies follow you. And then when the real epicness begins, when you go through that cave that leads to forgotten vale,When you fell down on that bridge. Also i liked when we got to enter soul cairn,And discover the ruins of the forgotten part of volkihar castle.

And i really loved forgotten vale,Was exciting! The two dragons there :D That was a epic battle! and yes,The snow elves. Really like them now. Got to visit The Paladin again.
Well i like most of this DLC. A unique DLC,Like all TES DLCs :3 Looking forward to skyrims first "Massive and big" expansion like shivering isles.

the second last quest of the dawnguard questline. The epic moment when you discover the snow elves still live. The Forgotten vale looked realy great, nice nostalgic moments with the Ice Giants. Also i came to think of the falmer as more than morlock like savages when i saw their huts on these snowy mountains. It gave me a very nice vibe of a reclusive civilisation.

Also their village in that gorge looked realy cool and i enjoyed sneaking through it.

Basically that quest alone was worth the entire DLC it had so much more Character to it than anything else in Skyrim.

My favorite parts? I would say meeting Gelebor was great. Fighting the Forgemaster was probably my favorite fight. Soul Cairne was really awesome when i first saw it.

Other than that, the werewolf perk tree is my favorite new feature, oh and dragon bone weapons. My new dragonbone sword matches my Stormcloak Officer armor nicely.

I love the additional random encounters in the wild with vamps & werewolves. I also really liked the snow elves. It would be cool to get more of them.

In no particular order:

1) Forgotten Vale, including music.
2) Ancestor Glade, another beautiful cave.
3) Bthardmz, really cool effects with the place crumbling down around you, plus Katria.
4) Serana, great script.
5) Daysping Canyon.

I love Skyrim most for it beauty. DG kept that up.

Fighting Vyrthur. Awesome boss fight. Downside was that the battle against Harkon felt anti-climatic of sorts.

Seeing the snow elves was really interesting. I also like when you're trekking through that huge tunnel -my screen was almost completely black the entire time- and when you open that everyday little rock entrance and there's that strange vale cat (that I knew nothing about) that I had a terrible and wondrous battle with. The vale is excellent...

Loved:
  • Pureblooded vampires explained.
  • Serana.
  • Vampire lore.
  • Killing Dawnguard.
  • Vampire Lord form.
Hates:
  • Snow Elf and all that other stuff.
  • Vampires eye changes.
  • No stage 4 attacks.
  • Lacking vampire lore and Volkihar history.

POSSIBLE SPOILERS THROUGHOUT LIST: DON'T READ IF YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW:

1. Increased dialogue and interaction with Serana. This was the best thing about the DLC. I liked that she would go and sit down when you were engaged in doing something even if she was following you. I also liked the little "it's nice to see this with you" dialogue. I like that Bethesda is moving toward making NPCs more interactive. I hope to see smarter companions with increased dialogue. I know it costs money, but it is so much fun to have someone to talk to when you're questing.

2. Lost to the Ages: The forge was incredible, and once I figured out what I was doing wrong, I was able to find all the pieces. I thought it was the best quest in the DLC. I also thought the final payoff was a great quest reward.

3. Touching the Sky: Hated that first cave, absolutely hated it. The rest of the quest, however, was really good. Developed a deep dislike for the Dwemer over the price they demanded of the Snow Elves. Wish there were some way to redeem the Falmer.

4. Enjoyed joining the Dawnguard. Being a part of the "other" faction--not so much.

5. Hated the random attacks that wiped out most of the merchants. Hated having to fast travel to somewhere outside the city to avoid triggering one all the time.

6. Soul Carin: Castle dungeon crawl was too long. Soul Carin was okay. Don't understand why Serana can't go back, claim her castle and clean in up. Would have made a great house. Loved the Dawnguard castle.

Yeh. Only a few original followers were very interactive, like Serana... Cicero was one of them who talks a lot about towns and certain places he'll go with you.. Also, his random dancing makes the day funnier. The Lucien Lachance Summon is another nice follower to have with you since Lucien also comments a lot on areas and he does talk to you during the rest of the DBH Questline saying different things.. I remember him saying something like "I feel a disturbance.. Sithis does not wish for Cicero's death." or something like that during that quest..

I kinda don't remember any other follower that was interesting to have with you...

Try out Jenassa, Marcurio, or Mjoll (in that order) for chatty companions. Jenassa has something to say about every type of dungeon. Marcurio restricts his comments to Nordic Ruins. And Mjoll talks about herself. (Too much for my taste, but since you like Lucien, maybe you would like her.)

Things i liked:

Forgotten Vale, including the music and epic boss fight. :)

Soul Cairn, yeah it was a bit "empty" but cool nonetheless to see a twisted version of Sovngarde including the same type of sky. :P
