What was your first death?

Post » Wed May 16, 2012 8:32 am

LOL, my first playthrough I was planning a Dead is Dead character, just started the game, super pumped.

Died in Bleak Falls Barrow LOL. That frickin trap killed me. I saw that stone on the floor and though "Hey, maybe I can pick that up or something". Walked over to it and was fenced to death.

The first death was when i went exploring near Whiterun. I went along the river when i came to a part with one tower on each side of the river with a bridge/walkway between them. When i went in i got attacked by a Orc Bandit wielding a two handed Axe with Fire damage. He killed me in one blow.

Decided to walk up to a giant and repeatedly spam E to see if i could talk to him, i found out the hard way that instead of talking to me, he'd just make an attempt at sending me into space.

I have a DB contract in Morthol. My target is always in the presence of witnesses. I yielded to the guards (sheathed my sword) and yielded to the townsfolk. They just kept on attacking until I was dead, ran out of health potions. So much for "yielding to the law". Next time I murder this target, I am gonna run like hell and, given a chance, will teleport to Riften where the guards'll happily accept a fine. I tell ya, the Dark Brotherhood is costing me a lot in gold. Should I of killed the guards and all the people in the inn so there were no witnesses? No, I am not THAT bad of a character.

I doing some general investigating when I saw something up on a mountain that looked unmountain like. I got myself to it and discovered it was just a very uniformly colored rock. I was coming down and realized the distance you can fall and get no damage and the distance to fall and die is about an inch apart from one another.

A frost troll got me I think.

The first thing I did in the game was run to the far north... so I was kind've asking for trouble.

I think it was the spider in the cave you have to get the golden claw from near the start. I was not prepared.

Indeed. I also did in Bleak Fall Barrow for the first time I think.

I tried getting down a cliff the fast way by jumping into a lake. It wasn't deep enough.

Krosis. Plain and simple. Found him early, got nuked by his Staff of Fiery Agonizing Demise. Went back and hid behind a rock and pot-shotted him to death with magic.

I was trying to do some roof jumping like you could in Oblivion or Morrowind with max Athletics and Acrobatics. I knew the skills were gone, but I wanted to see what the jump distance was like without them. So I got to Riverwood and clambered up to the top of one of the houses there, which with the tall roofs and it being elevated above the ground a bit meant I was a good two and a half stories up. Then I backed up, ran towards an adjacent house, and took a flying leap.

So as it turns out, jump range is nowhere near what I was expecting, and you can die pretty easily from that sort of fall. Whelp, lesson learned.

First main quest dragon (other than the opening sequence) outside of Whiterun. It landed right in front of me, It blasted me with fire. I blasted it with fire, it cocked its head to the side as though it was confused, and ate me. It was pretty awesome to see. I was so dumbfounded (didn't realize I was in range for that) and it was so awesome that I didn't even have time to be unhappy about it. The game reloaded and I took it out the second time :flamethrower: :shocking:

In the first dungeon I explored, I stepped on my first floor trap, one of the swinging door ones. Didn't kill me, but scared me something fierce. Thought to myself, "Gosh, I should try to lead one of these pesky Draugr into this trap!"

Rounded a few corners, and found my first Restless Draugr who happened to be the first magic user I had come across. In full panic mode, I hoped my newly frosted feets wouldn't fail me...and I fled right back into that floor trap.

I got offed by a giant as well. I saw a mammoth wandering about so i went to get a tusk for a quest I had and ouch - I flew about 40 feet ahead of me and splatted the ground. I didn't see the giant come up from behind.

A giant. It slapped me higher than High Hrothgar. It was an insane introduction to mortality in Skyrim.
