What wing options did you choose for your main house?

Post » Thu Jan 17, 2013 2:35 am

Just interested to know what wing options everyone chose for their main house/house they plan to move their family into?

I have currently chosen the bedroom and kitchen addons and am undecided on the north wing

well in three playthrus
i decided i like the porch option -best
so on that character i have two homes with bedroom, storage and kitchen
the third i changed the kitchen to armory- wrap around porch

on my other two i did do the towers- do not like them
garden and trophy room
not fond of either
so i have tried all of them

a little weird lol
but they are for library, enchanters lab and alchemy
really no real purpose
[in markeath there is actually more book space in your home]
and you can get both an alchemy and enchanter tables in the main hall of you new house

as for a garden the best one is in the mages college
for the archmage- very similar to the wizards tower/frostcraig in oblivion

so if i am playing a mage thats the place i wouldgo to
once i was the 'boss' archmage

and in my last playthru i opted out of the cellars as well

1. falkreth - Lakeview house I chose the alchemy Lab, for ingredient mixing for potions. The Greenhouse for planting rare ingredients. and the Armory for my display of armors and weapons. I call this My War-house.

2. Morthal - Windstad Manor I chose Bedroom s you know for the kids. The Kitchen for the cool new items to cook. Also another alchemy tower just cause I love having a tower attached to my home. This is my Family's home.

3 Dawnstar- Heljarchen Hall I Chose The Library for my large book collection. The enchanters tower , basically gives the house a cool look. The Trophy room , for trophies duh. I call this place my Man Cave.

I have all of the other options outside and in the celler for all homes. I decided not to choose the storage room for any home cause there is more than enough storage in the other wings without it.

i chose storage for the porch
i do not need storage, but
because
i like the porches.. all bards, stewards etc will spend all they time on the porch

and since i have used multiple characters
i have done all options

we need an option to change our homes

storage should be a playroom/library for the kids
thats where i would put it

For my main house, which is in Falkreath, I chose the Bedroom, Kitchen, and Storage rooms. I enjoy having an actual kitchen with an oven, and I mostly chose the storage room for the porch that wraps around from the back of the house to the side. Great view. :D

I am leaning towards the notion that having at least one tower for each home would be a good idea. This gives you access to the roof and allows you to exit the house without running smack into a Giant. If a Giant is outside and I exit via the tower, I can snipe it from the safety of the roof. I like the library tower since you can have an alchemy lab and enchanting table in the main hall. The enchanter's tower, however, offers more display options for your weapons.

For the Falkreath home I went with the storage option in order to get the porch. I like having a porch overlooking the lake. I can also wave to my neighbor down the hill in the morning. She doesn't seem to appreciate the friendly greeting, though.

You can also jump onto the roof if you have a back porch, and at least one side without a porch. Stand on the balcony in the corner where the house is lacking a porch, and jump to the corner of the roof. You should be able to make it pretty easily.

Kitchen, greenhouse and alchemy lab for Windstad Manor, and bedroom, storage, and....I haven't decided on the final wing for Lakeview. Maybe none.

Yes, I have. I think it's a great combination, since those forested views are so pretty.

That's a good idea- I really like the kitchen upgrade anyway, and wouldn't mind another. With the bedroom, storage, patios, and kitchen, Lakeview will feel like a vacation home. :)

I have all of the outside options for my house's. I think the hatchery is cool in the fact you can have multiple fish in it.

Also the main purpose about this thread is about the wing additions.

lakeview the summer home
solitude the winter home

you can add slaughter fish to your hatchery

in the pale house i opted for the wrap around porch
so i did the armoury storage and bedroom

hands up to make the storage a playroom for the kids with book shelves?
i am female and thats how i would have designed it!
and changed the kitchen to the one with the porch

would have been nice to have options for what we want
say litched with flat roof or as it is now etc

My falkreath house will have the bedroom, the kitchen and the storage and will be my main family house (the childrens complain for the cold weather in the pale and for the "scary monsters" in the swamps of hjalmarch, while they're fine at Lakeview manor.

The pale will hold my "Dovahkiin at work " house and will have the tophy room, the armory and the enchanters tower. It will be the dovahkiin's base of operations.(forging weapons, enchanting them). The house also has a nice scenic view on whiterun and the troath of the world.I think it suits well the tipical Dovahkiin style.

The house in hnjalmarch will be the place were my character practice alchemy (fish hatchery, greenhnouse and alchemist tower),and relaxes reading some books when he's not busy saving the world or raising his family.

(copypasted from other tread lol)

I'm actually surprised that so many of you chose the storage room; there is ample storage in these houses (yes, I know, the porch).

For my "main home" in Falkreath I will have the bedroom, the trophy room, and the armory. For my personal getaway/research home in Morthal I will have only the enchanting tower and the library (this is where I will do the enchanting, the magic study, the necromancy research -- away from the kids). The third house will probably just be the little house, no main hall, no wings. Just a small shack in The Pale, with no valuables. A place to stay for the night if in the area. Can always upgrade it later if need be.

My wife will be Muiri so I would have liked to offer her a greenhouse as a gift but then I won't be able to have the bedroom... I'm also a bit peeved the library and armory can't be in the same house. Some of us are intellectual warriors, you know.

So how many things can you have outside? Can you have a hatchery at every house?
