What would you do if Fable 4 turned out to be everything Pro

Post » Sun Jun 24, 2012 1:03 pm

and had even more than what was actually promised? like multiple continents, giant sea worthy ships to buy and your character could literally turn out to be anything you wanted him to be, king, senator, business tycoon, sheriff, mayor of a small town war monger. What if it turns out to be the ultimate RPG life simulator?

Wait a month for the people who bought it to realize it was only wishful thinking.

I would start to carry around an umbrella, to protect myself from pig crap.

(I feel like I have to be literal today or no one will get me. I mean Fable 4 will be everything promised when pigs fly)

Peter Molyneux doesn't work for Lionhead any longer.

Well if it was everything that it was said to be cracked up to be it'd probably be one of the best games ever.

Odds of that happening? About 0.001%.

I don't know what Project Ego is and I don't like Fable, so I suppose I wouldn't do anything out of the ordinary.

Question whether Project Ego has anything to do with mine, and why it'd be made into a game...
I've lost interest already in finishing what I was

That's how much the game interests me

In it's early development stages Fable was called Project Ego and incredibly hyped to be this RPG life simulator everything you do, every choice you make changes the world around you, everyone you talk to changes the game in some way. They even had these grand in game screen shots that ended up not making it into the game. Your character was supposed to age in real time and level up in real time as you swing heavy swords, cast spells or what have you. Peter promised that every game would play out differently depending on how you play your character, Project Ego was also one of the first games announced for the Xbox and spent years in development before it finally came out. I didn't hate the game, it was pretty good for what it was but it wasn't anything that it was hyped to be and didn't play how it was described.

I like Fable 1, enjoyed Fable 2, and enjoyed 3. I would probably enjoy a 4th.

I just like the style and everything about it, call me crazy.

This. Damn I'm out of the loop.

I really liked the Fable games. They're a good way to spend a few hours. I sunk quite a bit of time into two but it bugged me that I never found all the damn gargoyles...

Sounds a bit like what happened to Spore.

Sounds a bit like what happened to Spore.
Except that, with Spore, they actually did have most of the promised features in the game at one point. EA thought that the game was "Too complicated" and made them tone it down. Watch some of the older gameplay demos, a lot of the promised content is actually showcased in them. Apparently that's what made Will Wright leave Maxis.
