What is your hardest fight in a dungeon yet?

Post » Fri Jun 08, 2012 5:03 pm

I had mine earlier, I cant remember the name of anything, but at the end, there was this boss Draugar who when he comes out of the coffin, the screen starts to shake, then theres an endless number of Draugar thralls who help him attack you, He was incredibly strong, and honestly, I spawned about 8 Stormcloak Soldiers on me just to help with the fight, and even then it was really really close! What is your hardest fight so far in a dungeon? (And yes, im on a PC, and yes, I know it was kind of cheating, but I sided with the Stormcloaks in the civil war and became a high rank, so I dont see why I couldnt have some soldiers with me :D)

Forelhost has some of the toughest enemies in there, including Rahgot. Try beating that without spawning soldiers.

Anytime involving being outnumbered by Draugr Deathlords or the higher-rank Falmor. It's always the combination of heavy hitters up front and archers in the back that cause me trouble.

But then I just spam Chain Lighting with 0-cost casting and the Impact perk. If I'm that desperate :{D~

Haha, well, Im a melee character on the one I did it, so it was really hard, and I never have any potions or enchants for that matter,it makes it really almost impossible haha

Got sent to Shimmermist Cave at a fairly low level as my intro quest to the Companions.

The falmers/Chaurus were quite tough and all, but the final ancounter with the Falmer boss + steam centuion was like something out of Dark Souls.

the one in movunskar, the firemage is dam annoying, she 2hkoed me using her firebolt skill on master. And also, she has about 4 more apprentice mages and 1 conjurer i think nearly. So its 6 high lvl mages VS my melee char, my sanguine rose and my follower =.=
Hell it took me 1h to beat the mage(including reloading), but i did it after using bow and sneak attack one mage at a time. However, the firemage alone is dam hard, like 5 novice vampires ganging on me. And i used all my heal pots, magicka pots for restoration and even cheated a bit by using the console and add a few more potions. Hell, that mage is even tougher than 2 mammoths + 1 dragon...

Labarybthian, huh? Wow this place looks huge. Oh, snap, a frost troll! *goes sneak, stealth kills* Well that was easy. Oh, come on...four more? OK....
*four easy frost troll kills later*
OK...can't get in the main way....how about this other door off to the side then?
*Enters side entrance*
Oh, look, a Draugr. This'll be easy!
(spoiler: it's not easy. Not at [CENSORED] all.)
*incoherent draugr DEATH OVERLORD shout reduces 99% of my health*
Oh, a tough guy huh? Well I'll just freeze time and pop these potions! HA!
*freezes time, pops potions, comes out of freeze and is instakilled by a second incoherent shout from a Draugr DEATH-[CENSORED]ING-OVERLORD*

Not so much of a fight as an instant curbstomp. But it was unexpected and very fun to die so hard.

That dungeon where you fight
Spoiler
Dragon Priest from the mages guild questline
I couldn't beat him with my melee fighter without cheating, he literally insta-killed me with his lightning over and over again. :S

The second time I fought him, I was a Breton mage (25% magic resistance) with the atronarch sign (50% magic absorb). Now THAT was an easy fight. You might even say it was a relaxing experience...

Weird, everyone keeps saying that, but I'm currently playing a destruction/summoner mage and I find the game incredibly easy. I'm level 23 now and I'm thinking about creating a new character, because the game is just TOO easy... I play on the adept difficulty.

I can`t remember what dungeon it was, but I entered some place alone (I usually take a Follower, but he died) and came across a couple of easier enough to kill Forsworn. Passed a couple of traps went downstairs... heard some guys talking about something.

Saw a guy sitting on a chair, stunned him with a shout and hit him. I saw he had a good weapon and good armour. The Shout barely stopped him. His one hit knocked mt down 75%. And I could hear more men coming. Time for plan B!

I ran back, bypassing the traps, but leading my now 4 attackers onto them- they barely noticed it. I turned to fight, taking what potions I could, popping my health to 100%. I parried the first, but then the second decapitated me on full health!

I tried 3 times more and was decapitated again, bludgeon, throat slit until I gave up and decided to return later witha Follower...

Much, much later...

Draugr Deathlord plus three minions. He disarmed me (one annoying bug/feature: if you are dual-wielding, the disarm shout throws one weapon away, but unhands the other and puts it in your inventory). Unusually I had a spare weapon, but it was rather weaker than my main, so a lot of hacking and dodging, mixed with potion quaffing, ensued. Dual-wield and light armour is NOT fun against bosses with hard hits.

Add another 20 or 30 levels and call me back.

Being curbstomped by Vulthuryol a elder dragon in a certain underground city. I was fighting some Falmer, used the unrelenting force shout to clear them off me and the next thing I know I have a really old and very pissed off dragon stomping me into the ground.

I dont't remember the name of the dungeon, but there a khajiit Mage and a redguard warrior outside of it and they decided to go with me and my follower. The four of us get to the final boss, some big tough draugr deathlord and all his skeleton and draugr minions. It was in a rather small room and the deathlord shouts disarm, my ebony war axe goes flying, I start trying to find it and I can't, my follower is down, redguard warrior chick it hackin away at skeletons, Mage is on some stairs shootin lightning at at the draugr, and the deathlord is chasing me. I start freaking out and grab the first weapon I find, an iron mace. I then began to bludgeon this deathlord the best I could with a low level weapon and I'm throwing out a fos ro dah every chance and nearly died. When it was all over the Mage is dead, and my war axe is nowhere to be found, had to go back to whiterun and make another one.

Dead Men's Respite on my mage....

Spoiler
It was in the burial chamber of Olaf One-Eyed. When that Bard entered the room, almost all the Dragur who were sitting in the chairs were scripted to come after him and you! Nothing prepared me for that onslaught.

Kyneval the Tongued. I mean, mostly cause I tripped over his little hidey hole at level 9 or something. I went back at level 20 something and finished him off.

Kronos was bit of a surprise too, when I was already busy fighting the dragon there.

Dead Man's respite. Though It wasn't really legitimately difficult, so much as incredibly choppy framerate wise with all the draugr.

Oh man I remember that with my dead-is-dead, master difficulty warrior.. The first falmer killed me, I didn't stand a chance. I did finish the dungeon by reloading and trying though, and got to the final room. There, I sneak killed the steam centurion..

Movunskar with my level 11 Warrior on master difficulty, I walked in there wearing my flashly freshly smithed armour & sword ready to kick ass & chew bubblegum.

Then i got absolutely destroyed by mages & ran away vowing to go back later after the humiliation had worn off.

Spoiler
The battle with the 3 Gaulderson's
One of them has a ridiculous unrelenting force shout that sent me flying numerous times. To make matters worse he has numerous look-a-likes (all with the same shout) which made it a shell game. If you hit one of the pretenders they all disappear and move around before reappearing.

Spoiler
The one mage with the Staff of Paralysis
Hard to do much when you have draugr hacking at your limp body for over 5 seconds before you can attack again.

Enemies jumping me, mostly high level draugr, all the coffins who open is also fun however the one boss and lots of thralls are easy for an archer, a couple of sneak attack on the boss and the thralls dies with him.
Was pretty surprised of this, focused on the boss because I assumed he was hardest and most dangerous.

I forgot to mention one (technically it's not IN a dungeon).

Hag Rock Redoubt

Forsworn Briarheart (Duel-Wield) is a freaking beast. He skewered me with ease (1 power attack) and I was lvl 35ish at the time.
