Another pet peeve: People who post material that can incite flame wars, violate forum rules, etc. and then attempt to excuse their behavior by saying their not trying to [insert rules violation here]. If you really feel the need to excuse the content of your post as "I'm not trying to get into politics/religion/whatever," you probably shouldn't be posting it here in the first place.

Or try to excuse themselves by saying "It's my opinion, so HA"

It can be understandable after a few posts in a debate, but when it is used too often it is annoying.

1. When people say "like" every other word. I help out at my church's high school group, and this especially true of the girls (Just an observation. The guys say "like" in less quantity). They seem to say "like" every three words and it annoys me so much.

"You know he was like, "oh my gosh," I was like what the heck, she was like..."

I just want to blow myself up at that point.

2. When people play modern pop at parties, I just want to get up and leave at that point.

3. When people corrections of me are wrong.

At a party, there was a song playing, "How to Love," by Lil Wayne. I made a comment saying that the song was by Lil Wayne. This girl then rants at me saying that it's by Drake. I looked up the song on Itunes and almost died, people don't even know who made popular songs anymore.

I have plenty more, so many I could write a book.

I catch myself whenever I say like too much. Whenever I tell someone a story I like to like, switch around the words you know? Like, say "said" instead of "like" or like, "says" or something. Like, I know it gets annoying so I try to limit it in that respect.

I'm talking about in Japan. I live in Japan. It's different here, believe it or not.

that is probably related to high density population citizens not having as much driving experience (or have picked up bad driving habits) because of congestion.

geography is usually what determines driving skills, race is pretty irrelevant.

Definitely people on cellphones while driving. I came very close to getting t-boned by some idiot talking on a cellphone and ever sense then it makes me livid to see some idiot tooling around with one hand to his/her (usually her) ear. There is a law against it in California and its a pretty onerous fine (I know some chick that got a ticket for it - $400). They could probably close the budget gap by vigorously enforcing it since every third person I see is endangering everyone else on the road for the sake of their oh so important conversation.

Race is irrelevant, but nationality or culture absolutely determines driving "habits".

You forget that geography usually dictates race/ethnicity. If you're in Asia, you're more likely to find native Asians, are you not?

Therefore, the seemingly racist pet peeve of his is technically right. If people (including native Asians) have a lack of driving experience due to congestion of their native country, and move somewhere else, say, the USA, then as a result of their native country's congestion, they are in fact bad drivers because they are Asian.

bedroom doors being left open, or any other door for that matter.

their purpose is to let you in and out of what is basicly a square cell, and when not in use its ideal that cell remain intact.

but mostly its because i can't stand being watched by other people, more so by people in another room.

This times 100.

i also can't stand direct eye content without sunglasses. it makes me squirm. its irrational but it feels like people know what im thinking when they look me in the eye.

This as well, bugs the hell out of me.

Besides those two, I hate when people touch my stuff.

geography does not dictate race. History and genealogy does. Japanese people do not live in japan because the geography is the ideal ecosystem for them to survive.

Geography can determine the skill of a driver based on things like weather patterns, such as a place that rarely ever sees rain like the great plains of colorado usually create drivers who are horrible at driving in the rain. etc.

I'm still trying to discern why you are arguing with someone who lives in Japan saying Japanese drivers are generally bad (in his opinion). All this dragging in geography and race is a little ridiculous when you have no basis for understanding the poster's point of view (i.e. - being in Japan and driving there). He didn't say Japanese drivers are genetically bad because they're Asian. There are some cities in the US that have bad reputations for driver skill (or lack of it), collective bad habits or local driving culture (Miami and Boston spring to mind). I don't think a person who lives there saying Miami or Boston drivers svck is referring to race or ethnicity.

and that was what i was saying, the japanese are probably bad drivers because there is a lot of congestion in the cities there. i don't know that personally but having moved all around i have seen that people who have mostly only driven in congested situations tend to be bad drivers when they are faced with open roads. as well as drivers who come from areas that almost never have rain who find themselves in a temperate climate and unable to drive faster than 25 miles per hour if the ground is wet.

Hypocrisy, liers and people who talk down to others just to make themselves feel or look better, also people who play their car radios loud at 12:00 at night.

pubic hair.

My personal peeve is when people over-exaggerate a story, to make it sound more interesting.

"My dog nearly got hit by a car on the street infront of my house" becomes "I nearly died trying to save my dog from getting hit by a massive 18-wheeler in the middle of a busy highway!"

Shallow, materialistic women who only go for guys with abs, good hair and "swag". I have to kick my own ass at the gym, waste loads of money on damn hair products and ... what the hell is "swag" these days?

It drives me to the edge, and pushes me over. Then they get mad when someone cheats on them.

No you don't. Don't try to hook up with 'Shallow, materialistic women' who 'only go for guys with abs, good hair and "swag".'

But I really was not trying to start anything, and I don't want to break the forum rules, I was stating one of my pet peeves, and I wanted to make it clear that I wasn't trying to flame anyone or anything.

Do what I do, put them in the ignore list.

Though I didn't put that individual on the ignore list, but I generally do put people that would annoy me.

It really bugs me when people tell me, "You're in a bad mood today, eh?"

I'm not in a bad mood, you just can't accept the fact that you've said something stupid to make me angry! :stare:

I don't think pondering the cosmic nature of ponies counts as philosophizing.

Cell phones. It drives me nuts that people have such a sense of self-importance that they can't disconnect themselves from their little networks long enough too pay attention to what's actually happening around them.

I pissed off a dude at the pharmacy the other day. We were standing in line to be served and when the lady behind the counter said 'next' the guy was standing there texting so I walked right around him and up to the counter. When I was finished he was giving me a look that would certainly kill if looks could do that. I told him it wasn't his prerogative to impose a delay on me because he couldn't get his head out of his little gadget. A woman behind him shouted "Amen!".
