Whatever happen to the drunk redguard from the Thalmor Embas

Post » Mon Jun 04, 2012 3:06 am

As you start the Infiltrate a party quest at the Thalmor Embassy quest you become friendly with a redguard man named Razelan. He complains that none of the waitress will give him a drink because he became rather disruptive when hes drunk.

So anyhow right after you get him the drink and then tell him to cause a scene, to which he did exactly that by spitting out some insults to Elenwen. Whatever happen to him since then? I could remember hearing weapons being unsheathe when the man started using insult words.

Do I need to return to the Thalmor Embassy to rescue him?

Probably tortured, considering Elenwen's personality.

I don't think you can "return" to do anything - which is why they moved the Unusual Gem OUT of the Embassy in 1.4. I would suggest you simply RP that Raze isn't as drunk as he wanted everyone to think he was, and that before he gets mobbed, Elen et al realize they have a far bigger issue (the Dragonborn and her infiltration) - so Raze gets away scot-free.

If you are on PC and use console commands to get back inside the embassy
you will find the drunken redguard and elenwen just milling around doing nothing.

If you cause a scene with the other option, getting the server girl in trouble with the stuck up noble guy the server girl winds up in the dungeon and you can break her out along with the prisoner.

Nothing however comes from the scenario you used.

And (I think) if you attack him he won't die or fight back. He'll cower and run off. Then when you come up to him he'll say something like, "you're not going to hurt me again, are you?"

I'm guessing more along the lines of execution

I don't think anything happened to him. He wasn't at the dungeon, so I assume he got away with it all because of the ruckus about your infiltration and their capture of that wood elf helper.

What? Where did they move that Gem, too? I haven't read the patch notes! I didn't know it was moved!

Oh and I'm sure the Divines watch over Drunks and Children... hahahaha

He tells them that "he'll be a good boy now" and the guards back off.

The Thalmor are certainly cruel. I can't think of a worse fate than being stuck at that party forever..... :yuck:

It's in Reeking Cave now - you can even pick it up without ever touching the MQ. Which is as it should be, though unless you're on PC, there's a couple others (notably the ones in the ArchMage's rooms and in Proudspire Manor - if you choose not to, or don't WANT to, buy it) which will cause issues....

There is one in Proudspire Manor. On the second floor. Cause issues as in being tagged "stolen" and if you're arrested you're fooked as far as completing that quest.

Can you even buy Proudspire Manor if you aren't doing the civil war questline? And do you really have to do the whole

You don't have to do ANYTHING in the civwar questline to get Proudspire. You DO have to do Wolfskull and the follow on.... but they're fun!

i just want to kill elenwen but the game doesnt let me do it in a legit way. After seeing the torture chambers, i felt like going on a thalmor killing spree. Even Jarl Igrod of Morthal, who was present at that party, states the thalmor are evil too. I guess the empire wasnt as dumb as what ulfric thought

Seriously, chat up any Thalmor and if their responses don't chill you then you are a draugr. Talk to Ondolemar at that reception, he's even more odious than when in Markarth. He'll even admit it's a religious war that the Thalmor are waging.

I think it's a bit lame that you cannot jump the walls to the Embassy... I mean, make the walls bigger if you don't want us to get back in.
Just looks horrible when a char can't clear something that should be an easy leap.

Just did the quest last night on a fully patched game. It was still there (I make a point of avoiding it - don't want it stuck in my inventory).

Edit: I see what you mean - its moved to the cave if you don't take it in the embassy.

Oh ok, thanks for the info. Yea, I've found 19 so far, and then played on another toon. I need to get back to that one and finally complete this stupid quest! LOL I usually buy Proudspire, mainly as a money sink lol. The Arch Mages rooms are accessible and I had no issues snatching that one in the past, or the other locations where guards could take you in for stealing (Dwemer Museum for example).

LOL exactly! We never had these issues in Oblivion! I just started to play it again and OMG I swear Cyrodiil has less gravity than Skyrim! I can jump much higher in Oblivion and climbing seems way easier there. Yet Skyrim has all the mountains... go figure! They really had a much better skill system in Oblivion LOL
