When will my UK Digital Download Pre-Order appear on EADM?

Post » Fri Jul 09, 2010 10:48 pm

Hi guys,

I've had a look through the forums, and seen a lot of posts about the pre-orders, but as the game is now out in the US, I wondered if anyone had any idea how the digital downloads will work for pre-loading etc?

I pre-ordered the game on November 4th last year, and thought by this point the game would have appeared in my EA Download Manager for pre-loading. I'm in the UK so technically the release date for here is the 25th.

Did anyone in the US pre-order via the EA store, and how long before the release date was it available for download.

I just hope they do this early since I really don't want to start downloading 9Gb on release day.

Thanks all.

Likewise.

The chaps over on the PC Forum seems to think that there is no Pre-load option offered by the EA Store for european customers.

Meanwhile Steamusers started preloading yesterday.

I'm on the same boat and nope, no email, nothing. Game doesn't even show up in EADM. And order history doesn't seem to have it either (I preordered back in January).

Nope, Haven't gotten a thing from EA other than the "Thank you for giving us your money!" which was back in february when the demo was released.

Thanks for the information guys, glad I'm not alone.

Hopefully some US customers might come on soon and let us know what happened for them.

I've posted on the official EA forums and I've also contacted a person within the EA support team. Hopefully, we'll get some answers soon. Though, it would be great if Adam or Tom picked this up and do something about it.

Nice Iceman, keep us posted.

Prehaps some friendly gaming sites would pick up on this whole ordeal. It's not the first time non-US citizens are getting shafted, and it likely isn't the last either.

Yeah let us know Iceman.

Any Americans who downloaded on EADM around yet? Any staff that can advise?

I`m from the eu region, i preordered a few days ago, and right after i inserted the cd key, the game showed under the game list, still unavaible, cause the release date is on 25 th.. Also there is no preload option avaible through EADM, only for steam..

Odd, I didn't get an email with any cd keys at all yet.

Funny fact - I just got an email from EA store regarding the LE content of another game I preordered, namely Sims - Medival!

Nice to know EA store has us sorted........

Just a FYI.

According to this EA forum thread : http://forum.ea.com/eaforum/posts/list/15/5482724.page - the svckers (This includes myself) that bought from the EA store directly has to wait till the 25thm and judging by that threat we're not talking 00:01 the night to friday, but till some time during the morning PST time (This makes it afternoon / early evening for us Euros).

I am therefor going to cancel my pre-order at the EA Store and will end up at some other platform that allows for pre-loading. I would encourage others in the same situation to do the same. EA has to learn that what they are doing currently is not ok in any form. You do not give your own customers a worse treatment than what another shop offers.

Normally I'd agree with you Tormdk, and I admire the principal, but I got a pretty good deal on the pre-order and it would cost me about £10 more to go to steam or another platform that allows pre-loading.

I'm just gonna take the attitude that it wont matter next week.

Colour me surprised.

While typing a reply to another thread, that initially was supposed to be a /EMORAGEAAAAAAARG reply at how the EA store handles their loyal customers I got an automated email from the EA store with the unlock code, and my EADM updated itself and Crysis 2 is now downloading.

So I've gone from being extremely frustrated with the EA and the way their pre-order works, to being only overly annoyed by the lack of information from the EA store.

EDIT: My e-mail also included a code to download the first Crysis for free. I already own it though.

I've also now got my e-mail, nothing showing in EADM.

Just used the code to get the free version of Crysis, thanks for that though EA and Crytek, I will enjoy that :)
