Where would you live?

On Earth in the halo universe, just not Africa.

This world has a lot of premature deaths to go around
Not where I live at least. No fear of dragons, killer plagues, nukes, radiation and so on.

If I were to just play along and pick one world I could perhaps consider Raven Rock in 2277. Since I'd be in real world with real physics the Lone Wanderer would not stand a chance against us and we'd win ridiculously easy. Just take over the Purifier, shoot everyone and start the thing.

But nobody ever smiles! Actually I quite like the idea of a cosy pub somewhere in Cyrodiil, away from rampaging necromancers, minotaurs and the like. I'd say Chorrol but I'm worried it might be full of dreadful snobs.

None, really. Fiction usually involves a lot of premature deaths so I think I'll settle for this world.
Yeah that's what I thought as well. However, since I can be -anyone- I want in -any- alternative universe I want...

It'd be a hobbit in hobbiton/shrine (whatever it's called). Eating and fishing in the shire, hakuna-matata style.

It doesn't particularly matter what universe I live in, just that it be different. You know, grass is greener, et cetera. I can put up some candidates though.

1. http://files.myopera.com/cofoppyplop/albums/688145/Yokohama_Kaidashi_Kikou_02.jpg, otherwise known as Cafe Alpha. It's a special kind of post apocalyptic world in which much of the landmass has been long since flooded, and life has returned relatively to normal for the people left. It's a relaxed world where people just decided to chill for the remainder of their lives rather than deal with political struggles, wars, and conflicts. I would probably get bored for a while before I got used to it.

2. The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, if only because I know the entire landmass of Vvardenfel like the back of my hand. Dangerous as it would be, I think this knowledge would let me pick a fairly safe course. I could even study magic or something.

3. Rune Factory 3. Rune Factory is the kind of universe where you can do something as mundane as farm vegetables, grow flowers, and talk to villagers and never worry about anything. At the same time, if you get bored, you can learn magic or swordsmanship and go fight monsters, all without any real threat of death. The monsters don't die when you slay them, and you don't die when they best you.

4. One of the bigger wishes for a different universe is less specific. It's more an amalgamation of many common Anime themes. Stuff like Tenchi Muyo or Haruhi Suzumiya, where you're living a normal life and then suddenly dragged off onto an adventure into outer space by pretty alien chicks! :hubbahubba:

The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker's world, maybe. I like the sea and it would be relatively peaceful, ignoring the fact that said sea was only created by the flooding of Hyrule. As long as we keep our supply of young boys and green tunics up to throw at every world-threatening evil, I think it'd be fine.

If I could switch betweem worlds? It'd be a flip between Empire Bay from Mafia ll, and either the Golden Sun or Red Dead Redemption worlds.

99% of organisms in Skyrim want you dead. Unless you are content to be a farmer near city walls Skyrim has little to offer. Sword fighting isn't that glorious when it's you who gets your arm chopped off.

Heck, I'd spend my first 5 years training with an axe in free time, the rest is being an apprentice to Gorza, I can't be any worse than Tacitus! lol

Either the Mass Effect universe, before the events of the games, or Tamriel (During Oblivion before everything got screwed up)

Hmmm let's see---I wouldn't mind living on either Eternia or Etheria (in the 2002 reboot universe). I wouldn't mind visiting Ponyville but as a human alien visitor (how I got there would be mystery in itself) and the world of Nirn as a Dunmer.

And if were weren't on this particular board I could probably spend 10 minutes goggling real life examples of that for you....

Interesting question. If I was regular me then I would want to live here tbh. Anything else would be so strange that it would be very hard to adapt to I think. However if I was me plus some adjustments then I would want to be an Ex-Hand of Almalexia in 4E Morrowind having survived its disasters. If I knew what I know now I might try to achieve CHIM.

Another Alternative would to be someone relatively, but so much so, more powerful than most others in Spira. The world setting for Final Fantasy 10.

I'm taking a guess you would be a Dunmer who surrender to the Argonians or manage to get to Solstheim?

Well.. The world will what it be like in lore/real-life. Not like in a game.. So a lot of those creatures in Skyrim will prolly be what they should be and wouldn't be everywhere like they are in-game.
