Which Playing Style Do You Exceed At Best?

Post » Fri May 11, 2012 6:45 am

Personally, I noticed that I naturally am a Battlemage by day and an Assassin by night.
With the dual combo we can now do, I'm excited for the destruction I can cause :)

How about you? What's your fancy?

I try to play it however is most efficient to the situation I'm in. Mostly stealth I guess.
So I guess Battlemage as I have high Blade and high Magic, and use both in many different ways. Which is why I love TES so much, its something a Jack of all Trades kind of player like me can really excel in.

I like the thief playstyle best, but I think I'll start Skyrim as a heavy straight to the bang warrior, because I want to get used to the world and keep what's best (thievery) for the second run.

I excess best are shooting and strategies, so I suppose I should play an archer but I care not for difficulty in rpg. I play online with real ppl ob games like cod or forza if I want to c how I excel at games (I least the some like cod, 4th in the world at demo :P not so good at forza lol)
In rpg I often turn down the difficulty so I can have more fun rping and less time gaming.

A spellsword.
Light or no armour, a plain unenchanted longsword backed up by destruction, illusion and restoration.

I'm something between an Assassin and a Warrior. I adapt depending on my environment and the situation.

Assassin/Thief, most kills with a Bow, after that Sword + Shield. I've been using offensive spells a fair bit, while closing into melee range, etc. for this play through. It's a bit more fun than pure Archery/Sword-fighting.

I'll do the same for Skyrim I assume, unless being a tanky plate wearer is more fun than it is in Oblivion.

Mage. When I have a chance I play 100% mage. But usually it's hard to do in TES for one reason or another, so I add either daggers or staffs as blunt weapon to my skill set.

Usually go with Stealth, with a good deal of Alchemy for my nasty poisons. Though in Oblivion I enjoyed the Battlemage style (High Blade skill with a good bit of Destruction magic).

My Argonian is good at stealth and daggers, with a little bit of bow, poison and restoration.

Cautious, sneaky warrior.
Sneak up, snipe with poisoned arrows then finish off with blade.
Preperation makes up for my abysmal twitch skills.
Also allows me to get away with light armour which helps given my tendency to loot anything and everything that has value.

So far, I have never played any character that doesn't use at least a few spells or enchanting magic items with Sigil Stones or soulgems. And usually I have played a dunmer or custom race mod.

However, with 280 perks to choose from, 20+ dragon shouts with 3 different levels for a total of 60+ shout effects and vastly improved character designs, I'm really looking forward to playing some warrior or stealth characters that don't cast any spells or use enchanting.

Definitely a warrior.

I use no magic whatsoever, and only potions I find or buy. I will be proficient with the bow as a backup and for hunting, but primary will be melee weapons of sorts. I suppose it's sort of a ranger type, but I'll be thinking of him as lone warrior, and self sufficient now that smithing is in =D

Magic+stealth I guess. I don't understand why anyone would not use magic in TES though, using some restoration seems like a no brainer for warriors for example.

i'm usually a warrior w/ a 2h axe/mace, a bow for pulling, and a little restoration because i hate using potions!
i also like to dual wield and since it's in this time around i will probably go my 1h axe and 1h mace combo :D
probably 2h for huge MOFOs and dual for quick/easy mobs? :S

The first thing I'll do is play a pure mage. Then I'll mod out the limit on dragon shouts and become a raving destroying Barbarian.
