Which do YOU prefer? Volkihar Vampires... or the... Dawnguar

Cicero is a useless assasin and a loonatic, yes he's interesting but he's a jester.

Cicero isn't useless if you can use him to get any follower you want + Serana + him following all at the same time. Also the fact he can never die also helps a lot.

no i like here character and how she interacts with thing as a follower not mention she actually a helpful follower. i hit puberty during morrowind im grown now

Yeah, she's a new favorite of mine too... besides Cicero. Too bad, Beth didn't do much with Karliah after the quest line... would love her as a follower too.

Oh and another reason why I pick Dawnguard is cause of that one Arkay dude..

"I once killed 30 vampires with my bare hands, you know! Ask Arkay, he'll tell you!"

He's my favorite DG member, and he instantly made Arkay a lot more intresting

Care to.. elaborate "Care to...elaborate?" regarding to this thread? In other words; what's your favorite side and why... elaborate?

Wait? You can have Cicero + any other follower you want at the same time? Even after finishing the DB quest line and the other follower isn't mission related?

Most vampire players would prefer to be the sneak type of character so having a whole host of followers would more than likely just get in the way, it's bad enough when Serana keeps animating non-stealthy dead-uns.

I think the dark brotherhood hoods work and dont look that bad on.

People like her because she is the only NPC in the game that actually has a character.
but does it cover the face almost entirely lik the thieves guild hood?

Get the follower you want, then head to the DBH place. Tell your follow to leave you then tell them to follow you. Then tell Cicero to follow you. Then go to Dawnguard, tell Cicero to leave then tell Serana to follow then tell Cicero to follow.

I have asked all my friends, and a majority of them like the Volkihar Vampires.
Well - now I am asking YOU prefer - The Volkihar Vampires or the Dawnguard?

Here is my opinion:
I didn't mind the Volkihar Vampires Questline - and Serena is a reliable follower, seeing as she is an essential character. But when you have done the questline, and made people Vampires - it gets a bit boring.

On the other hand, the Dawnguard Questline is more fun, unlike the Volkihar Vampires Questline, it is more fun and you don't have someone saying "The Feast never ends here at Castle Volkihar..." Grr... That gets on my nerves. More importantly - you get more followers from the Dawnguard. I believe that Crossbows can only be forged at the Dawnguard forge, so I think that is another reason to become the Dawnguard. Also there is a man that is in the Dawnguard who you can hire out Armoured trolls from - isn't that awesome? { SPOILER } Serana will still be a follower if your in the Dawnguard ( due to her fleeing Castle Volkihar to get away from her father ). She may decide to cure herself of Vampirism.

I join Dawnguard after playing through the vampire faction like i said on a topic there is SO much potential that the developers didn't really go into and that vampire faction was a disappointment it's like the developers WANTED us to join Dawnguard because of the cool castle and equipment and such while the vampires only have equipment, vampire lord form, endless human cattle which is not that awesome or enough ugh if they do go back into Dawnguard and add some cooler stuff then i just might replay for the bad guys other than that give me the next DLC

It involves talking to a db assassin before their "follow me" topic comes up. Before that they have a "i command you to follow me" choice which doesn't include a rejection response for already having another follower, allowing you to dismiss your follow, rehire him and quickly talk to your chosen generic db assasin before their dialogue choices update.

You can then dismiss the db assassin and get another second follower of your choice. Not that I would know of such things...

I enjoyed playing thru both faction. But I have more Dawnguard faction saves.

I agree the Dawnguards have better stuff and the repeatable quests are not too bad.

But what I liked most of my Volkihar play thru, was the end. Where You can travel back to the soul carin for Valerica to return to castle volkihar. But very disappointed that there is no additional text from Serana recognizing that her Mother has returned home. And if i travel back to the soul carin after her mother has left soul carin - Serana repeatedly says, she wishes her mother could come back home. The text is just awkward after all quest lines are complete from a story perspective.

Second small part I enjoyed of volkihar was after Harkons death, one of the vampires approaches you and asks "My lord would you like me to rebuild a connection to the court yard" I agreed of course and that to me as a gamer felt great being able to at least rebuild something there. Because Harkon imo pretty much just destroyed that castle and let the place turn into a train wreck. Serana even tells you during the quest lines how castle volkihar used to be one of the most respected castles in tameriel.

But after completing the Volkihar faction line - I returned to Aela and had her turn me back to a warewolf. I only shifted to the volkihar faction to keep those volkihar alive in the castle minus harkon.

For me both factions are great but warewolf faction i prefer most.

Besides if the game leads to war against the high elves, Id like as many factions as possible on my side if there is going to be a massive war. Warewolves, volkihar, thieves, darkbrotherhood, falmer, snowelves, hunters, foresworn, the stormcloaks and the dragons all working together to war against those highelves would be awesome.
