White Wii vs black Wii?

I heard Black Wii's are bigger.
You're 3 days slow on the draw for that one.

The new one can jump higher and gets stopped by police more often.
The white Wii has a much better credit score, good job. :goodjob:

So if I bought a N64 game can I control that with the Wii remote, or is it recommended that you get the Wii gamepad I saw in the store? Would it be hard to play say Mario 64 with the Wii remote and nunchuck?
You can't play N64 games with the remote, you need a classic controller or gamecube controller. The remote is only used for VC games with few buttons, like the NES or Master System.

First of all, before I even put my credit card info in I had 500 Wii Points (after formatting the console), is that normal? Anyway I bought 1,000 more.
I'm pretty sure virtual console games are tied to the console itself so maybe the points are as well. I can't say for sure though because I never actually used the virtual console.

Okay so when I try to play New Super Mario Bros I get "an error has occured, press the eject button, remove the game disc, turn off the power, refer to the wii operations manual for further instructions"

When this happens the Wii freezes. I only have one game right now. Is this likely the disc or the Wii? Any clue. It happens right after it shows the wear the hand strap screen. Though once it made it one screen further and then came up.

Any idea?

It may be the game disc. Is the game new or are there any scratches at all on it?

It's from Gamefly. It doesn't look scratched but there are some weird scuffs on the top of the disc. I finally got it to work by putting the Wii sideways on the floor... I played for awhile and it worked fine. Then when I was done I decided to go to the home screen and try to load the game again, and of course I got the error (and had to unplug the Wii to turn it off).

It looks like it's just a matter of luck... I ordered a lens cleaner disc from Amazon, so we'll see if that helps. Hopefully I can find a cheap game at the Bx just to try tomorrow to see if it's the disc or the console. I've read online that it can be the console going bad, and it's $75 to get it repaired through Nintendo (including shipping I paid $70 for the Wii...so that pretty much brings me up to the price of a new Wii if I send it in for repair).

Anyway, New Super Mario Bros was pretty fun. Got past the first Bowser fight. It's kind of addicting. Like I die and want to go right back at it because I'm mad that the game's beating me... At the same time it's frustrating to die in a stupid way.

If you want. It lets you play select amount of titles that you couldn't without the remote, and gives you increased accuracy when playing regular games. Isn't required though; a regular remote will work just fine.

Instead of just using it for beer/party time, try picking up a couple excellent Nintendo exclusives. There actually really good, and you'll find yourself having just as much fun with them sober as you would with any standard AAA game.

Recommendations;

-The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword
-Super Mario Galaxy
-Super Mario Galaxy 2
-Xenoblade
-Pikmin 2
-Super Smash Bros' Brawl

A couple off the top of my head.
You left off Metroid Prime Trilogy (Jonahirt, in case you aren't familiar, it's a brilliant FPS series with a focus more on exploration and puzzle solving than straight-up action. There's also another Metroid game for Wii, Metroid: Other M, but it's a love-it-or-hate-it game (with most people falling into the "hate it" camp))

So Skyward Sword was incorrectly priced at $19.95 today at the Bx (just the front copy, the rest were $49.95) so I grabbed that (the cashier just changed the price to 19.95..haha). I also picked up a Wii plus remote and Red Steel 2 (which was discounted to $8).

So far I played Zelda until you first meet the fairy. It's alright. I never really got into Zelda. I played Ocarina once until I got stuck (maybe about an hour in, I could never figure out what to do). I don't like how I can never figure out where to go...Took me an hour to find the dang bird in the beginning (I want to call it a chocobo for some reason).

I wish there was voice acting, the random noises and text get annoying...But for $20 I guess I'll keep playing it, until I get stuck at least. I svck at using the sword, so I just spin attack everything..

Also I don't get that error, so it must just be that the New Super Mario Bros disc is bad. That's good news, I don't have to send the Wii for repair at least

So are third party games good on the Wii or should I generally stick to Nintendo games? Still enjoying Zelda and Mario (Twilight Princess should be coming from Gamefly tomorrow but I'm going to stick with Skyward Sword for now).

I'm just wondering if anyone third party games make good use of the Wii mote. I really like how it feels using the Motion Plus remote in Zelda so like is there a good baseball game or something? Or should I just stick with my Xbox for multiplatform games?

I hear http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MadWorld is a great game but I've never played it and am not sure on the Wiimote mechanics in game.

Do you smoke? My girlfriend just informed me that if you smoke around the white one it will turn a nice shade of pastel yellow. Could be something to think about...
