So who actually likes the game?

Post » Thu May 10, 2012 3:02 pm

It is a very engrossing game. My biggest problem with it is that the shadows look like crap. No big deal, though, I just turned them off in the INI.

Better than vanilla Oblivion? I think I can safely say so.

Well, I have not even seen the game and I feel like I should hate the UI before I have even played it thanks to this forum. I will reserve judgement until I play it (might be a long time from now, need something capable of playing it first)
I do find the pot on head thievery glitch most amusing though.

This game is awesome. Time vanishes when I play it seems. The UI took getting used to but it does not bother me anymore. I can work through it rather quickly. ROX!!

Yeah, I'm over 30 hours too and 90% of my gameplay time has been around Whiterun Hold. And I feel as if I've only done about 20% of the quests obtainable there.

I'm unsure about how much I'll hang around the northern regions though, as incredibly cold climates aren't my favourite.
Currently I'm headed towards Markath simply because I started playing without a compass on and got drawn to the incredibly beautiful canyon which leads you there.

A wow moment for me was taking on two Frost Trolls and thinking i was dead for sure when out of nowhere a Giant appeared and saved me

SKYRIM is like every Elder Scrolls rpg rolled into one. Truly stunning with all the things Bethesda has accomplished. I was smiling when i saw arrows sticking out timbers the enemy had shot at me earlier and being able to pull them out to use myself. The more i use the Perk system the more it has grown on me. The way music was done this time around by not playing all the time is really immersive and brings out the environmental sounds. Combat is varied with easy targets aswell as plenty of dangerous ones. Seeing enemies go into a yield pose while yelling,"I yield!" is a real satisfying treat. Seeing Frost Trolls get pissed when am out of reach of their powerful mitts is very funny. Dungeons are frigging fantastic and even better then my favorite dungeons in TES 2 DAGGERFALL. Music is wonderful and on the epic multi mood triggering level of the soundtrack from TES 2 DAGGERFALL. To think this music didnt exist before SKYRIM.

Thank you Bethesda for a magnificent Pc version while giving great reward to the Console crowd who really put MORROWIND in the black of finacial success.

Love the game, only on the forums because I have to be in an office sometimes instead of at home playing.

On a sidenote: Great features are great and will be great even if you don't speaks about them, bad features and bugs aren't great and will never be fixed if noone complains about them. So mind you, not all people talkinging about bad things say the game svcks, most in fact like it, just want it to be better, so no need to yell offensve stuff and throw stones and glass :P

I was chasing a deer today and thought I had it cornered at a lake. It jumped in and started swimming, so I jumped in and looked at it from under water. It swims like any RL animal would, treading water and head above it, I spend quite some time watching it while it swam all across to the other side. I can really enjoy moments like these. Also, the views, fogs, weather system, I can lose track of time as well when it comes to that. Also, I find myself playing around a lot with the currents and flows of the water. :ahhh:

I love the game. It's my latest addiction really. Me and the game have had a few bumps here and there in the road of understanding the game. But I still like the game.

Really enjoying it... yeah it's not THAT big a step up from Oblivion in terms of mechanics, but I'm particularly fond of:

1) the MUSIC - particularly the bards in taverns. Been humming the dragonborn song all day lol.

2) better crafting systems - I never bothered before but have found the perks tree to make things much more accessible.

3) story - I feel more connected with it and feel there is more depth to this game what with the rebellion and the dragons etc.

4) DRAGONS

I do accept the criticism though... it is incredibly similar to Oblivion. More like Elder Scrolls IV: Skyrim than V if you ask me. But still I think it's great and totally worth the money. Best single player RPG available for fantasy genre at the moment without doubt.

I think the most incredible gaming experience I have ever had and I have been gaming since the spectrum days. Could you imagine if you could go back in time to the days of spectrum and c64 gaming with this title. Would be tres funny.

I like a lot of things...dislike others. I'll reserve my judgement until the game's moddability is revealed. The main reason I prefer Oblivion over Morrowind is that Oblivion's flaws were largely ironed over by mods eventually, but Morrowind's flaws are still there. Of course, Skyrim's flaws appear to be of a "hard-coded" nature, so I'll just have to wait and see...

I'm having a whale of a time. I quite like the way they have Nord accents and don't all sound like they are from 18th centruy London. Or the way you can tell bards to take a hike so you can sleep. They did a good job on the dragon fights too.

i love it. there are a few little glitches here and there but they are to be expected in a game as epic as this. and there will b patches fixing them so no worries.
