i had to find an employee who spoke english first, then all i had to do was tell them about the promo, after that they looked for the New Vegas boxes in the back room & on the shelves and they didnt have any... BUT the other employee that knew what i was talking about happened to have 3 FONV boxes behind the counter and handed me one of them. only had to pay $5 and they forgot to take any of my information, so instead of being a pre-order it was just a normal transaction. also, the boxes your looking for have the FONV cover and say "Pre-Order Your Copy Today" and have the coasters shown on the back.
i think that also covers Lucky38's question, but idk... Best Buy is much more organized and on their stuff then KMart, so if they do have the pre-order boxes in-store then it SHOULD be easier then going through the trainwreck of a store that is KMart.... in theory.
EDIT: at KMart, the 3 boxes they had behind the counter were the ONLY 3 promo boxes they had recieved. idk if they are THAT limited at every KMart/Best Buy so you might want to call around before you go looking for them. just a heads up

i work at kmart myself. so don't bunch all employees together please, and my store happens to have 2 very good managers and 1 decent one.
anyways, we got 3 in which i put in the drawer behind the counter because if i put them out people will just steal them.
we then got about 20 more which were mixed into a bunch of movies, i don't know what happened to them.
we were not given any record keeping pre order notes, its just sell the case, and then come in and you can buy the game and exchange the case for 5$ off.
seriously corporate ticks me off, they do alot of stuff like this, we get promotional materials we have no clue what to do with them because their are no instructions, we got in a ton of stuff for the avatar movie and 2 days before launch nearly all of it vanished, my guess is the the store manager and the soft lines lead took them home, they do that alot.
