Who Got The Coasters And Knows if K Mart is Still Selling Th

i had to find an employee who spoke english first, then all i had to do was tell them about the promo, after that they looked for the New Vegas boxes in the back room & on the shelves and they didnt have any... BUT the other employee that knew what i was talking about happened to have 3 FONV boxes behind the counter and handed me one of them. only had to pay $5 and they forgot to take any of my information, so instead of being a pre-order it was just a normal transaction. also, the boxes your looking for have the FONV cover and say "Pre-Order Your Copy Today" and have the coasters shown on the back.

i think that also covers Lucky38's question, but idk... Best Buy is much more organized and on their stuff then KMart, so if they do have the pre-order boxes in-store then it SHOULD be easier then going through the trainwreck of a store that is KMart.... in theory.

EDIT: at KMart, the 3 boxes they had behind the counter were the ONLY 3 promo boxes they had recieved. idk if they are THAT limited at every KMart/Best Buy so you might want to call around before you go looking for them. just a heads up

i work at kmart myself. so don't bunch all employees together please, and my store happens to have 2 very good managers and 1 decent one.
anyways, we got 3 in which i put in the drawer behind the counter because if i put them out people will just steal them.
we then got about 20 more which were mixed into a bunch of movies, i don't know what happened to them.
we were not given any record keeping pre order notes, its just sell the case, and then come in and you can buy the game and exchange the case for 5$ off.
seriously corporate ticks me off, they do alot of stuff like this, we get promotional materials we have no clue what to do with them because their are no instructions, we got in a ton of stuff for the avatar movie and 2 days before launch nearly all of it vanished, my guess is the the store manager and the soft lines lead took them home, they do that alot.

I picked up a set a couple of weeks ago, they come in a DVD box with the familiar Fallout New Vegas logo and the NCR ranger on the cover. Expect little if any help from the staff though, unless you have an actual fan working there, probably not even the manager knows about the promo (as in my case).

You just have to poke around the video game sections. Once you make the purchase, you will get a printed coupon for $15 off, for use when you buy the game there on release date, but they don't really have a formal registration system where they take your e-mail or phone number, so really you can just buy the coasters for $5.00 and "pre-order" the game somewhere else if you are so inclined to do so.

The catch is you have to actually find a K-Mart that's not so far out of your way. They are nowhere nearly as ubiquitous as they used to be...

The nearest K-Mart to me is a good 1.5 hour drive, not worth it for a few coasters. BestBuy is only an hour away, and I'm over in that area at least once a week anyway. I wonder if I can go to BestBuy and pre-order it, then cancel the pre-order since I already have the CE pre-ordered from Walmart.

Call your local Kmart before you go, but here is my experience today, with a pleasant employee I must say http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1115195-for-the-collectors-out-in-the-wastes/page__view__findpost__p__16371636

My fellow Fallout fans I come before you with a victory. I went to K Mart and it went perfectly. I told the guy I wanted to pre order the game (I'm not planning on picking it up just in case you're wondering) and he gave me the coasters and case that's with them, WITHOUT MY INFORMATION. He never asked for my number or anything. ( I paid cash) So they can't bug me about it. I gotta admit they're pretty sweet, I love the beat up look that they have. I like them all but my favorite is either Lucky 38 or the Ultra Luxe. The Tops is pretty awesome but the Vault 21 one isn't that cool to me but I guess it completes it. Definitely worth five dollars if you're a Fallout fan. :fallout: Now all I need is a NCR shirt. :D I'll probably just get one off of Cafe Press but the real promo item would be nice.
