Hey guys I finally have enough dough to get some 'want' items and the http://www.ps3blog.net/2010/08/09/fallout-new-vegas-coaster-promotion/ happens to be one of them. (I'm a huge svcker for promo items especially since there isn't much of them) I was wondering what you thought of them if you got them and if any of you know if they happen to still be selling them? I live a little while away from any K Marts so it would be nice to know before I make the trek if any of these are still on the market. Thanks! :fallout:

if you preorder in store at best buy you also get the coasters.

I got the coasters. Still got 2 left, they are made of cardboard and the soda can sweat ruins them pretty quick. You'll get about 2 weeks lifespan outta each one tops. :nod:

Yeah but at least i got some enjoyment from them instead of letting them sit in a box for umpteen years until a girlfirend/wife/whatever at the time throws them out. Which is what would've happened If i had tried to hold on to them for some flaky friends. And that is the Science! i was using at the time.

lol I can see that but I am planning on putting it at my computer desk next to my Vault Boy bobble head. So I'll get use out of it along with all my other game promotional items littering my desk. Now if only i can get my hands on a NCR shirt :disguise:

When you get your coasters and NCR shirt maybe frame them together and hang it on the wall, might look pretty sweet. :celebration:

Well my friend just went to K Mart and some dude told him he had to pre order to get the coasters. Do you guys know what happens if you don't pick up a pre order/? Seriously?? Because I'm going with Game stop but I really want these coasters.

I'd assume you'd lose your deposit....... and your first born son.

So, do you actually have to pre-order the game, or can you just buy the coasters and forget about the pre-order discount? I already pre-ordered the Collectors Edition from Amazon, and don't really need another. But, dang, I want me a set or two of those coasters!

You could probably ask around and see if anyone else working will just sell them to you.

I have a similar problem with the local Domino's, everyone but one dude that works there doesn't care if you have the coupon.

yeah i saw this just a few days ago. glad a store with compotent employees is also doing this promo cause the whole KMart fiasco i went through for these damn coasters left me THIS close to punching every manager in the store square on the chin.

So, what exactly did you have to do, and how much did you have to pay to get yours? Can you pay just the $5 and get the coasters, or did you have to pay for the full pre-order cost of the game?

Something tells me it won't matter as much if I pre order form K mart and don't do anything. I think they're less respectable. ( I also think it will be easier to buy them off an employee at K Mart then at best buy)

i had to find an employee who spoke english first,then all i had to do was tell them about the promo, after that they looked for the New Vegas boxes in the back room & on the shelves and they didnt have any... BUT the other employee that knew what i was talking about happened to have 3 FONV boxes behind the counter and handed me one of them. only had to pay $5 and they forgot to take any of my information, so instead of being a pre-order it was just a normal transaction. also,the boxes your looking for have the FONV cover and say "Pre-Order Your Copy Today" and have the coasters shown on the back.

i think that also covers Lucky38's question, but idk... Best Buy is much more organized and on their stuff then KMart, so if they do have the pre-order boxes in-store then it SHOULD be easier then going through the trainwreck of a store that is KMart.... in theory.

EDIT: at KMart,the 3 boxes they had behind the counter were the ONLY 3 promo boxes they had recieved. idk if they are THAT limited at every KMart/Best Buy so you might want to call around before you go looking for them. just a heads up

OK, sweet! Thanks for clearing that up for me. It was a little unclear if the coasters were actually inside the box you buy, or you recieve them at a later date when you pay for your game. I already called around and have several waiting for me behind the counter when I get off work! (I called and talked to the manager, lol) Hopefully, the Kmart employee I deal with won't have the intelligence to get my info when I pick them up, lol.
